lol @ if this was on another fansite; the words EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE EXCLUSIVE would be plastered all over this baby like a Christmas present

I haven't heard anything about DSP's yet. I guess LP.com will send an email before a tour that they do them on, like Europe last year. Richard, you're right lol. Sorry. We're all human and all make mistakes!
-
That Papercut in the number 2 spot is the nastiest thing around. Fucking love it. I SURE hope they keep that on the USA tour. Papercut = my favorite LP song.
-
Fixed Thanks for the heads up. Yeah it sure did sound like the "real" stage is being presented in Europe. Very interesting indeed.

Linkin Park finished off their final show of the short South American leg of the "A Thousand Suns" World Tour last night in Itú, Brazil. They managed to hit three big cities, two of which they've never visited before. Hopefully this short excursion to the continent left the band feeling good so that they will likely return again someday for an even bigger tour. So let's go show by show here for a quick recap. 07.10.2010 - Buenos Aires, Argentina - Estadio José Amalfitani Show Page / Show Discussion / Setlist Discussion Audio Download / Video Download LP started in Buenos Aires, playing a brand new setlist to a packed crowd. "The Requiem" went into "Wretches & Kings" to open the set for the first time. "Papercut" was played for the first time since the second to last show of Projekt Revolution 2008. "Empty Spaces", "When They Come For Me", "Wisdom, Justice, And Love", and "The Messenger" were all debuted for the first time live. Highlights include Brad yelling in Spanish thru a megaphone on "When They Come For Me", "The Messenger" being played in a lower tone and with an extended outro with drums for the crowd to sing along to, and "The Radiance" having a nice "remix" to it in the middle of the setlist. "In The End" appeared in the encore again for the first time in a while, and "What I've Done" closed it out as it did in New York City. Chester walked around with a flag from Argentina during "Crawling". There was a limit on how loud the sound could be at the show (an unusually strict limit), which you can read about here. 09.10.2010 - Santiago, Chile - Club Hípico; Maquinaria Festival Show Page / Show Discussion After two days off, the band played in the second city in a row that they've never played in before, this time for the Maquinaria Festival. The show featured the exact same setlist as Buenos Aires, except for one interesting note. Mike sang the chorus of "Burning In The Skies" during the bridge of "Bleed It Out". After this show, I discovered that the intro to "Wretches And Kings" is scratched by Joe. Pooch (LP's live sound engineer) had this to say after I asked him about who starts the samples for what live, "Most of the speech stuff is Joe. He is actually "scratching" the video on the video screen. So when you see the picture on the video screen of the original speech, and Joe DJ scratches the audio in the speech - it scratches the video too. It is pretty cool. Hard to tell in these festivals, but once we get to Europe and have our stage it will be easier to understand. But the answer is that Joe does all of them except "Wisdom, Justice, and Love."" 11.10.2010 - Itú, Sao Paulo, Brazil - Fazenda Maeda; Starts With You - Music and Arts Festival Show Page / Show Discussion / Walking on stage in the freezing cold (Mike even had gloves on!), the band played their second show in Brazil. A huge 6 year gap was in between the first and second shows, which might be a record for LP live (maybe the Netherlands qualifies?). "Bleed It Out" was moved down from the main set to the encore to CLOSE the show for the first time in 2010. It closed many shows in 2007/2008, so this is not a big surprise to fans. Mike sang the "Burning In The Skies" chorus over the bridge again. Another interesting note that I thought I'd put under this show is how Mike is playing "The Radiance" live. I really would like to call this a "Radiance Interlude" on the show page. He continues the piano from the end of "Numb" while the speech from "The Radiance" plays over the top of it, but afterward he sings part of "The Catalyst" through his vocoder. Another speech clip plays after that, making the total piece about two minutes long. Very nice! They have really added a lot to the live show this year! So the next show for the band is October 20 in Berlin, Germany at O2 World. Stay tuned to LPLive...we'll be sure to keep you fully updated on the entire World Tour as the band travels across the globe over the next year. Thanks to everyone from South America who has provided us with info, media and reviews of the shows! Congratulations on getting LP to visit your continent; I hope these three shows were everything that you wanted. Remember to send in your ticket stubs for the rest of the 2010 shows. Either reply with them in this thread or PM them. We're still looking for upgrades/better ones for a few of the South American shows too! The 2010 tour dates for the "A Thousand Suns" World Tour can be found here.

Sweet, they moved BIO to end the show. Already a massive improvement. WID closing just doesn't do it lol. Now the encore is MASSIVE. Easily the largest one they've ever had haha, pretty interesting. Glad to see BIO getting messed with as usual. It's like their live playground on that song W&K sounds much better now (mainly the chorus). Show intro is still a bit odd with Joe scratching the speech, but it's cool.
-
Still very possible at the end of the tour, if you ask me.
-
Uhh, maybe you misunderstood what I said. First time they have NOT played the SAME venue BACK-TO-BACK nights in 1 tour. First time in 1 tour they've played a venue twice that was not back-to-back. Everything you listed was back-to-back. 11th and 12th, etc. Sydney is in the middle of the tour and at the end.
-
Definitely didn't see Sydney coming at the end of the tour, but that's great. This gives me big hopes for the promoter adding New Zealand at the end of the leg. Excellent. I hope they do DSP's! I haven't heard a single thing about them for South America Total shame because "The Messenger" and "When They Come For Me" are insanely cool live.
-
Same here. That's gonna SUCK if they don't rotate in Europe. 6 shows in Germany, I'm sure a lot of people are going to 4+ shows. Tons of hardcore fans there.

So today the South American leg of the "A Thousand Suns" World Tour ends in Itú, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Linkin Park will be performing at the Start With You - Music And Arts Festival today at Fazenda Maeda. This is LP's second Brazilian show ever, the first being Sept. 11, 2004, which was also a festival show. The South American leg of the tour kicked off in Buenos Aires, Argentina on the 7th, hit Santiago, Chile on the 9th and concludes today in Brazil. The band originally was going to play five shows on the continent (confirmed by the promoter as well as Chester in a recent interview), but I guess two shows fell through, making their leg of this tour only three shows. The setlist has been the same the past two shows, so this brings up several questions. Is the band using these three shows as sort of a promo run to get used to the live material before they start rotating setlists? Or will they start rotating them tonight? Or maybe in Europe? For the "Minutes To Midnight" cycle, LP played a full tour before they started to rotate setlists. They've also started tours by doing sets twice in a row, like: A, A, B, B, C, C, then A, B, C for the rest of the tour. What do you think they'll do? Will they debut any other songs in Europe? Remember in Santiago, Mike sang the chorus of "Burning In The Skies" over the bridge of "Bleed It Out"...I thought that was pretty interesting. Or will they swap out a few songs like "Papercut" and "Shadow Of The Day" for other songs that aren't in this current setlist? After this show, the band has a little over a week off before kicking off the European leg of the tour in Berlin, Germany @ O2 World on Oct. 20. LP will play 16 shows in 23 days in Europe before playing two shows in the Middle East - Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv. After a short break, they'll play in Australia in December, with North America in early 2011 to follow, then Asia, Europe again and finally the USA one last time. The rest of the 2010 tour dates can be found here. Also, a recording of the Argentina show can be found here. Thanks to Fabri1791 and Kamui for that. Who's going? Who's tweeting? Who's posting from the show? SETLIST 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches and Kings 03. Papercut 04. Given Up 05. New Divide 06. Faint 07. Empty Spaces 08. When They Come For Me 09. No More Sorrow 10. Jornada del Muerto 11. Waiting for the End 12. Wisdom, Justice and Love 13. Iridescent 14. Numb 15. The Radiance 16. Breaking the Habit 17. Shadow of the Day 18. Crawling 19. They played ALL of those songs at almost EVERY CONCERT from 2003-2010. Quit bitching, my god, wow wow wow wow. They will play them this touring cycle. Let them get to the point where they rotate setlists.
-
Awesome man! Have a blast I hope you really enjoy the show!
-
Yeah that sucks. There are restrictions on other venues though. Zurich, Switzerland's Hallenstadion has a really big one on it...the show I went to was pretty quiet and Pooch explained why afterward when I had just witnessed him CRANKING it in Graz, Austria a few days beforehand. Tampa, Florida's amphitheatre is the same due to a neighborhood being nearby.

Linkin Park will be playing their second show of the South American leg for the "A Thousand Suns" touring cycle today in Santiago, Chile. The show will take place at Club Hípico and is part of the Maquinaria Festival. This is the first festival show the band has played since Aug. 22, 2009 last year, the last show for the "Minutes To Midnight" touring cycle, at the Epicenter Festival in Pomona, CA (show page here). LP has one more show in South America - on the 11th in Brazil before they head to Europe to continue on with the touring cycle. It's also very important to note that this is their very first show (of hopefully many more to come!) in Chile! The first show of the tour in Buenos Aires (show page here) gave us an entirely new setlist for the band. Fans will notice that "Wretches And Kings" opened for the first time, "When They Come For Me" (feat. the megaphone) and "The Messenger" were debuted live, and a lot of songs were swapped order-wise in the setlist. One notable return was "Papercut", which hasn't been played live since Aug. 23, 2008 (show page here), the second to last show of Projekt Revolution 2008. "Shadow Of The Day" and "Crawling" made notable returns after being dropped for the New York City promo show last month (show page here). So, this brings up several questions. Will the band play a totally different setlist for tonight's show? Will they start rotating setlists tonight? What will the other setlists contain? Maybe some staple songs that didn't make the Argentina show? "Somewhere I Belong", "Lying From You", "From The Inside", "Points Of Authority" and more, perhaps? Or will LP play another track that is surprising to fans (see: Papercut, or the possibility of P5hng Me A*wy)? What do you guys think? Will they debut more songs from "A Thousand Suns", or save them for later ("Burning In The Skies" & "Blackout")? Or will they keep the same setlist? Are there any fan-favorites or obscurities you'd like them to play? Who all is going to the show? Is anyone doing live tweeting of the setlist? The rest of the 2010 tour dates for Linkin Park can be found here. Show page here. SETLIST 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches & Kings 03. Papercut 04. Given Up 05. New Divide 06. Faint 07. Empty Spaces 08. Hey guys, I thought I'd fill you in on some news regarding the Argentina show. After hearing the live videos of the show and wondering why the crowd was so much louder than the band, I did some investigating. Here's what Pooch (LP's live sound engineer) had to say about the show... "I thought the band played awesome. In the city of Buenos Aires there is a new sound ordinance that prevents any outdoor show from being louder than 95dBC. A diesel truck that is 30ft away idling is approx 95dB. So you get the idea. This was a VERY soft show. Sometimes the crowd was TWICE as loud as the PA was. So from a sound perspective this is known as "un-inspiring". I know that some fans were complaining that they couldn't hear the band, etc. It made me so frustrated, because I know what they sound like when we can really ROCK the joint. If anyone on LP live or LPU want to know why the show was so quiet - feel free to post what I just said. The crew and the band were just as upset as the crowd was that we couldn't TURN IT UP. It was the government of Buenos Aires that wouldn't allow us to rock out. There were two guys with sound meters at FOH making sure that I did not break the rules, or they would stop the show. So if the people want to have more rock shows that REALLY rock in Buenos Aires, they need to petition their local politicians to get this sound ordinance abolished." Interesting! Thoughts?

Added shit to the main post and moved back, this is too good to pass up. HAPPY BIRTHDAY You are behind more exclusives singlehandedly than anyone else in LP community history; no way we aren't saying Happy Birthday to you on an OFF DAY of the tour

I need setlist 2 to open with: The Requiem By Myself Blackout I just saw a post in custom setlist discussion and it said By Myself into Blackout and that is the nastiest thing I have ever seen. Take those, throw in: Papercut New Divide From The Inside Given Up (w/ outro) Faint (w/ outro) No More Sorrow (long) Disgusting.
-
NASTY. BY MYSELF into BLACKOUT, god DAMN that is the best 1-2 punch I've ever seen. Imagine that OPENING. By Myself into Blackout. I've never heard anything as good as that. LOVE It.
-
Wait for the other setlists. I bet every fan here gets what they want after they see all 3 setlists the band is playing. They did say they were changing up old songs to fit the ATS style, so I would like to see OSC Reanimated and P5hng played on this touring cycle. Maybe they didn't have enough time to rehearse that or didn't want to do it yet, but it'd be cool.

Time for my two cents. First of all, WOW people bitch a lot. I've seen all of the following comments made about the show: Not enough Meteora, too many new songs, too many interludes, too short of a setlist, bad encore, too predictable, not enough this, not enough that. Holy crap. For once (LOL) I am VERY happy with this set. I usually bitch till no end about the setlists (you've seen the posts I've made, even about last year's summer setlist) but this one is EXCELLENT. How is this predictable? Wretches opening right into PAPERCUT. That is NASTY. Who the hell saw them bringing Papercut back? Everyone, including me, said "Hell no, those HT songs are gone"...nope! LP plays Papercut second! What a nice set. Messenger in the encore and a very solid first part of the setlist too. This is the longest single encore they've done in quite some time...PR04 or MWT04 might compare in length? There'd be only one thing I could bitch about in the whole set, and I think it's reasonable to say since everyone else is agreeing with it...WID as a closer is not the best choice in my opinion. I'd like to see OSC close. I really think OSC is the best closer they have BUT I will give them props because LP is changing it up, and if I was at the show I doubt I'd complain! Now, for the upcoming shows... I don't know if they'll rotate right now in South America yet because it's too hard to tell. Sometimes LP will rotate and do like A, A, B, B, C, C before they go A, B, C. Sometimes they just jump into it A, B, C style. It's possible they won't rotate for South America (I don't see why not though), and will wait until Europe. I'll predict that they start rotating right now starting with the next show. There's two other setlists, meaning they PROBABLY changed up some cool stuff, so I do see them playing Points Of Authority in another setlist. They might do something else cool that we don't know about, such as P5hng (just me being hopeful) or a Hybrid Theory song. Yes, there is a lack of Meteora in this setlist but GUESS WHAT, LP has played out ALL the big fucking songs from Meteora over the past...SEVEN YEARS. Don't Stay lost its appeal to me in 2007 when Chester forgot the words every other performance...2008 it was after NMS to open with a direct transition...wasn't a big fan. SIB and LFY have been played at every single show it seems since 2003, and FTI was a HUGE staple too. Wasn't FTI on almost every tour from 2003-2009? So LP drops a few of those and people complain. People complain if they keep SIB and LFY because "oh they're so overplayed, drop them LP!" and people complain if they lose them because "OMG METEORA IS GONE IN THE LIVE SHOW!" No no no, LP is just switching it up. Huge props to them, GREAT setlist. I'm sure one of the other rotating setlists will have at least 1-2 Meteora songs for you fans. But as far as predictable - who the heck saw them opening with WRETCHES, bringing PAPERCUT back and putting Messenger in the encore? Nah, thought so lol.

Preshow posts usually go up around 12am my time for the show or so. Just depends on where the show is, etc. There's a good 20+ hours until the show; plenty of time to discuss. I cut this one down a lot, I could rant and rant forever but racking up replies in a discussion is much better than a huge monster preshow post lol. -
It's time for the preshow writeup for Linkin Park's first big headlining show in support of "A Thousand Suns"! The band will be kicking off their WORLD TOUR in Buenos Aires today at Estadio José Amalfitani for the South American leg of the tour. Shows in Chile and Brazil follow on the 9th and 11th, respectively. It is Linkin Park's first appearance in Argentina ever and their first appearance in over SIX years in South America, the last being a festival on September 11, 2004 in Brazil (show page here). There is a selection of pictures circulating of the stage setup of the show here. LP played a one-off show at the Best Buy Theater in New York City, NY on September 14 (show page here) this year for the release of "A Thousand Suns", playing a solid selection of songs off the CD: "The Reqiuem", "The Radiance", "Wretches And Kings", "Iridescent", "Jornada Del Muerto", "Waiting For The End", "Fallout", and "The Catalyst". So without making this post too long...it's time for some questions. What are you expecting of the stage production for the show? The band has said recently that they plan on bringing a very "visual" show. What do you think the setlist will consist of? Any surprises that we didn't see in New York City on Sept. 14? Will they rotate setlists this tour? Will they debut "Burning In The Skies" and "When They Come For Me" as well? Who all is going to the show? Is anyone planning on tweeting the setlist? Let's get it going!

Now we need an M Shinoda remix
