  1. I saw Set A in Atlanta for my first LP show ever and it was BADASS. Definitely better than Set C in my opinion.
  2. Well yeah I would say this is a HUGE tour for Europe...six arena shows in Germany alone and a few are really close together. Even I saw a picture of the Stuttgart crowd and said DAMN, many thousands are there. And you'd be surprised how many go to multiple shows. I met a lot of people last year that went to several shows on just that small summer tour. @Xero21: I think this was posted on the anniversary to sort of..encourage the band in a way to play more off of that album in celebration. Yeah one set sucks but this set is a great mix of all three CDs and is REALLY good. Great great show that they're playing now. Many highlights in it for me (Wretches opening, Papercut, NMS long intro, WTCFM, Messenger, etc). This did concern me when they announced these shows and said originally they were starting the world tour in Germany at these HUGE venues. O2 is massive lol. Maybe they should have started smaller...? But I do think they should change up a few songs each show, if they don't want to rotate yet. They have a huge discography of music and surely the same set gets boring every show (didn't they say that before?) But this is one reason why I didn't go to Europe right now...I've seen all of these non ATS songs about 9x. I'll wait for the USA tour. /my 2 cents (or 50 cents )
  3. Today is the TENTH ANNIVERSARY of the most successful album Linkin Park has ever made...HYBRID THEORY. This has been an album that guided many of you into being a fan of the band, and for some has been an album that has changed their lives. What is your favorite song off of Hybrid Theory and why? How'd you get into Linkin Park - via Hybrid Theory or with another CD? Stay tuned for another post later today about the CD and the live show.... it should be interesting.
  4. So Chester had a hoodie on, then went to a wife beater, then no shirt...then hoodie again on the encore? lol
  5. Yeah same here :/ oh well. Glad they didn't start out in the USA first lol! Sucks that Germany gets 6 shows, London gets 2 and they'll have the same setlist. Well, that's not totally confirmed yet but that's looking how it'll be. Interesting.
  6. Today Linkin Park plays the third show of their European leg of the "A Thousand Suns" World Tour in Linz, Austria at the TipsArena. This is the band's first performance in Linz, however, they are not strangers to Austria at all, performing there as recently as last summer in Graz. An interesting note is that this will be the fourth year in a row that they've visited Austria (NovaRock in 07, Graz in 08, Graz in 09 and Linz this year). The setlist last night in Stuttgart was the same set they've been playing with no real changes besides a few small messups (Shadow guitar solo & Mike on the Bleed It Out bridge). There is one final hope today of having a rotating setlist for this tour, although the chances are looking slimmer and slimmer by the day. In the past, they've started a tour by playing the same set two shows in a row (in this case it'd be Berlin & Stuttgart) before moving on to another. For example: A, A, B, B, C, C, and then they'd go A, B, C. Although doubtful, it's still possible and hey, we'll still speculate about it because we're LPLive and that's what we do! So if they don't rotate, when will the other ATS songs debut live? Or how about "Points Of Authority" that Rob mentioned at the Berlin M&G? Are those coming in 2010? Or maybe they'll all come in 2011 if the band decides to start rotating sets then? So who from LPLive is going to the show tonight in Linz? Also it's important to note that LP posted on Twitter that they indeed are still playing in Paris on Monday. Rumors that the show would be canceled were fueled by Lady Gaga canceling yesterday and today's shows she had at Bercy (the same venue LP is playing at) due to strikes. Fort Minor canceled their performance in Paris in 2005 due to riots, but all is well for LP. People are saying the show will be starting a little bit earlier than planned...LPLive member "linkinpark-64" from France said, ""Nous prod" which organizes the show in France informed us yesterday that the show will start earlier : 20.30 to let us go back home earlier. There are less trains because of the strike." I hope everyone is doing well. If you get a chance, check out Ana's awesome pictures and videos from the show last night and also just browse YouTube for some Berlin and Stuttgart footage, because the stage is pretty cool and the band is looking pretty solid live right now! SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches & Kings 03. Papercut 04. Given Up 05. New Divide 06. Faint 07. Empty Spaces 08. When They Come For Me 09. No More Sorrow 10. Jornada Del Muerto 11. Waiting For The End 12. Wisdom, Justice, & Love 13. Iridescent 14. Numb 15. The Radiance (Live Version) 16. Breaking The Habit 17. Shadow Of The Day 18. Crawling 19. One Step Closer ------- 20. 7. Sweet videos! Thanks Ana!
  8. Linkin Park will be playing their second show of the European leg of the "A Thousand Suns" World Tour today in Stuttgart, Germany at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle. This is LP's second performance in Stuttgart...the first being the outdoor show last year, which I had the pleasure to attend ("Reading My Eyes" over "Points Of Authority", anyone?). The first show of the European leg took place on the 20th in Berlin (show page here) and featured the same setlist as the band played in South America ("Bleed It Out" continued to close instead of "What I've Done"). So this brings me to a few questions. If the band is indeed rotating setlists as rumored, then this might be the show they do it at. They debuted a brand new stage in Berlin (the new LP "V" shape" stage) with their full "A Thousand Suns" production. Will they play a different setlist, or will LP continue with the same set in Europe and only change it up later? If so, when will they change it? When will we get "Blackout", "Burning In The Skies", and "Robot Boy"? Also note that at the Berlin LPU M&G, Rob mentioned that the band would be playing "Points Of Authority" "later". This gives more fuel to the fire for other setlists being played, and will probably make the Meteora fans happy that have been complaining about the lack of "Somewhere I Belong", "Lying From You", "From The Inside" and more. And the last question with that is...if they play another setlist, will LP finally play an older song we've been wanting to hear? Note that the HYBRID THEORY 10TH ANNIVERSARY is coming up in only a few days. Do you think they will celebrate it live anyway? Or celebrate it at all, for that matter? We've heard nothing from the band about it recently, so they might not even acknowledge it. We sure hope so though... I think I speak for the majority when I say a full album performance of Hybrid Theory would be badass. But we can all dream! Anyway... The next show is on the 23rd in Linz, Austria at the TipsArena. Interestingly enough, there's no show on the 24th. The rest of the 2010 tour dates can be found here. Who is going to the Stuttgart show from LPLive? SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches & Kings 03. Papercut 04. Given Up 05. New Divide 06. Faint 07. Empty Spaces 08. When They Come For Me 09. No More Sorrow 10. Jornada Del Muerto 11. Waiting For The End 12. Wisdom, Justice, & Love 13. Iridescent 14. Numb 15. The Radiance (Live Version) 16. Breaking The Habit 17. Shadow Of The Day 18. Crawling 19. One Step Closer ------- 20. Fallout 21. The Catalyst 22. The Messenger 23. In The End 24. What I've Done 25. Bleed It Out Edit: Find the showpage here and download a sample of a recording here. Thx to Biel for the link
  9. The Linkin Park Facebook page posted here about an announcement regarding the DSPs (Digital Souvenir Packages) for the world tour. "Due to overwhelming demand, we're excited to announce that for the first time ever, all live shows on the 2010-2011 A THOUSAND SUNS World Tour will be released and sold through http://downloads.linkinpark.com/. You will be able to purchase and download any show, any time. We will still sell downloads and collectible cds at the concert merchandise booths as well." (Full cover) Sweet!
  10. Love this setlist. Totally badass. Can't wait to see it live. I hope they rotate setlists though.
  11. ....you DO realize LP used to use pyro and dress up on stage, right?
  12. My questions: - When is LPUX launching? - When is the LPUX CD being released? - What is the CD tracklisting?
  13. My wishes: - Drop "Iridescent", "Shadow Of The Day", and most importantly: "Numb". If you can drop "Somewhere I Belong", you can definitely send "Numb" packing. - Add "P5hng Me A*wy", "A Place For My Head", and "With You". - Close the show with "One Step Closer". - Debut rotating setlists with "Blackout" and "Burning In The Skies" somewhere. - Meteora songs would be muy bueno - TALK during the show.
  14. Linkin Park kicks off their European Tour for "A Thousand Suns" today at the O2 World in Berlin, Germany. This is their sixth show in Berlin (two in 2001, one in 2003, one in 2007 and one in 2008) and their first at this venue. The European Tour consists of 16 shows in 23 days before the band goes to the Middle East and then Australia. This is the fourth show of the "A Thousand Suns" World Tour. They've debuted songs in Berlin before...see the 2007 show where they debuted "What I've Done", "Given Up", and "No More Sorrow". In South America, LP debuted a brand new setlist. They are now playing all of "A Thousand Suns" live except for "Burning In The Skies", "Robot Boy", and "Blackout". Will they debut these in Europe? Will LP be rotating setlists this tour? Rumors for rotating setlists are fueled by a picture of Joe's laptop at the Brazil show showing setlists X, Y and Z. There are two shows in London and six in Germany, so hopefully so! At the last show of the world tour, in Brazil, the band changed it up by closing with "Bleed It Out" instead of "What I've Done". Other highlights include a great rendition of "The Messenger", Brad on a megaphone on "When They Come For Me", and the return of the great intros and outros for "Faint" and "No More Sorrow". So for this tour they said they are having their "own" show. I expect this to mean the production is stepped up majorly from what they had in South America. Is everyone excited? The next show comes in two days in Stuttgart. The rest of the 2010 tour dates can be found here. Also, did everyone see that today is 20/10/2010? 20102010! Who is going to the show? Anyone tweeting the setlist? You can find a pictures of the setlist and of the schedule here. Thx to AndOne for sending them to us, after getting it from the MFR Booth at the Berlin show. SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches & Kings 03. Papercut 04. Given Up 05. New Divide 06. Faint 07. Empty Spaces 08. When They Come For Me 09. No More Sorrow 10. Jornada Del Muerto 11. 15. So over the course of quite a long time, LPLive member LESTAT went on a massive hunt and compiled a huge Grey Daze feature for us to post on the site. He conducted interviews with many of the members and got a lot of information that we've never heard before about the band. This is one of the most interesting pieces we've ever featured on the site, so I would definitely check this one out. There's a LOT of information about Chester in here. After close to 50 emails exchanged between staff members on getting this wrapped up...it's finally ready! Check it! Take a look here, at the "LPLive Grey Daze Encounter". Thanks to LESTAT for one hell of a process he went through to get all of this for us!
  16. But that's not always the case. There's been a case where Charlotte 2007 had the exact same audio file for Breaking The Habit as a Texas show. They commonly fix problems by the band...see New Divide at Grafen in 2009. NOT fixing them is actually kinda rare.
  17. Nov 10, 2008 email I had with Pooch will explain this perfectly. Mark: "One thing I was wondering about. On the LiveMetallica site that they sell their shows on...I've been reading that they have the shows uploaded 12 hours afterwards. 2 shows ago it said: "And now, tonight's show is presented to you...just one hour after the band stepped off stage." How is that possible? Do they (the Metallica crew) have some sort of "super rig" that they just open the show with, click a button and it mixes it for them with the same presets each time? Do they have a much smaller set of inputs than LP has? Hopefully I'm not coming off as expecting you to be a Metallica genius, but I was just curious as to how their shows are done so fast. Almost all of their shows sound the same I noticed, while the LP ones vary by the venue (which gives the show a good, unique atmosphere/environment that the LP fans like a lot, actually). I know you and Dylan spend countless hours doing the mixes for LP with what seems like billions of different sounds to be mixed together, so Nick and I were trying to figure out how Metallica was accomplishing this. We agreed that we liked the overall sound of the LP audio better than the Metallica audio (theirs sounds very raw to us). Perhaps their crew goes right from the board to mixing the show and uploading or something? I was just REALLY astonished that they could mix AND upload a show in less than an hour. Honestly, effort and quality does show, which is why theirs seems to not even compare in our opinion." Pooch: "Metallica releases a FOH board mix of their shows. This is the mix that the mixer (like me) makes for the show heard by the audience. There is no remixing involved, and is therefore very RAW. (You have obviously heard the difference in quality). ArThe hours spent on my end with Linkin Park are really to refine the performance and provide the best sounding product possible. So you walk a fine line between producing a really LIVE sounding product, and producing something that people are going to want to listen to for years to come. I think the extra time spent is worth it. And the extra time the fans have to wait for the release versus the quality of something that you are going to listen to for a long time to come, is worth it ten fold. I believe in my heart that the product we release is a better one, and therefore better for the fans."
  18. Pooch mentioned to me that the SA DSPs were coming VERY soon, and that was last week
  19. http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopi...st&p=108022 Please read
  20. Then don't bitch about no recording if you wouldn't do it either The first 3 DSP's (South America) are being released before the Berlin show as far as I know. So within a week.
  21. http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopi...st&p=106966 See this post. And yeah it's possible that they're old but I say it's equally possible for them to be new. LP used X, Y and Z on their summer 2008 European tour, then redid them and used X, Y and Z on Projekt Revolution too. So I guess we won't know for sure until a few shows into the European Tour. Surely they'll do different sets considering there's SIX shows in Germany, 2 in London, etc...but that didn't mean anything before since they only changed 1 song each night at the 3 night stand in Tokyo in 2003.
  22. Because when we got the picture of Joe's laptop from Milton Keynes, it had the same thing and they rotated then.
  23. It took me a good minute or 2 to find it too. The very left hand side of his laptop. You can make out X, Y, Z going down vertically. Then you can see SUMMER 2010 etc Thanks Ana for the great update Sweet post. Well I don't know, I think NYC was just a promo show. South America's 3 shows all had the same set but they might rotate in Europe. There's an X, Y and Z there and a SUMMER 2010, so maybe they'll use 3 different setlists on the world tour now.
  24. Multiple setlists! And woo we got a pic of the set they're currently using. Jackpot.
  25. Then why didn't you record it yourself? Doh!
