04.07.2011 - London, England - iTunes Festival

About the M&G/early entry: This happens at EVERY show - M&G people get put on the floor but not in the very front. I've never heard of the LPU getting put in the first few rows. They always throw you in the back of the floor lol. -

Yeah it could be worse, haha! Hopefully the surprise is great, the webcast is in color and LP kicks ass. Can't wait for this. -
LP - 04.07.2011 - London, ENG, Roundhouse

Welcome to LPLive! Have fun at the show. A small handheld camera is fine at almost every show you go to. I've never been to London but I'm sure it will be ok at this show. The M&G rules will be explained to you by LP staff before you get in the area the M&G will be held. It changes each show, like sometimes the band allows video and sometimes not. Generally they don't. They let you take pics and all...don't worry, everyone will have a camera and Hugo or Maurice or whoever gets the M&G people will explain the rules super nicely to everyone! Have an amazing time! -

Oh shit c'mon lol...I can't do that again. That's a terrible idea. SNL was cool, actually really cool, but LPTV, the KROQ webcast and everything else was way too much. They need a reminder we live in 2011, not 1940. -

Ok cool. Yeah regardless of if LP is listed or not we'd like both tickets. Anything you've got, even wristbands if they gave them to you, would be great! -

17 out of 17. The last show of the Summer Tour has arrived... the band will be closing their run of shows this summer in London, England by playing the iTunes Festival at the Roundhouse. While LP has played a lot of venues in London, they've never played the Roundhouse.... an old train engine shed that has been converted into a music venue. Although it was renovated a few times over the years, the original structure was built in 1846. Wow! Only holding a few thousand people, tickets for this performance have been hard to get. Through iTunes giving out tickets to Music For Relief doing auctions it seems like most LP fans that wanted to attend have been given the opportunity to do so. An interesting note I'd like to point out here is that Linkin Park has closed several tours in England, most recently being the two London shows in 2010 (show pages here and here, show threads here and here). One awesome thing about that second London show is how the band saw feedback here about changing the setlist on the tour and debuted 'From The Inside' on that leg! Mike recently posted on LP.com that the show will be streamed live and that the band has a surprise for us. We'll make a post-tour thread discussing the entire tour but for now we'd like the discussion to include speculation on what the band will be playing. So what could it be? A collaboration? An old song? What do you think? Who is headed to London for the Roundhouse show? Is anyone meeting the band? Is everyone ready for an LPLive Skype chat during the webcast who's not going? I can see a lot of discussions about the ticket situation regarding the show here. Neon Trees is playing before LP at this show. For a short 2011 Summer Tour recap of the setlists, etc, click here. After this show, LP takes another break for about two months before playing the August 31 "surprise" show at a small venue in Los Angeles. After that, they play 11 shows in Asia in September. A great thing that I should point out is that during Mike's recent surprise LPU chat, he said they actually didn't know what was after the Asia Tour but he said that the band wants to write new music for a few months and then tour for a few months. That might mean another US tour or maybe more shows in December or January. We'll see though... For now, bring on the last show! EDIT: LPLive Skype chat during the show! Copy and paste the following line into your browser after installing Skype and logging in: skype:?chat&blob=ynsxmec4dLp60nAqeRzSAcC65w1TCOi8l-1EHm6M8J9evcEK90B9XEgixIBmPxiThmnEsbYhnojf8e6il9W5OGY You can join the chat directly without having to add someone to your contact list, etc. The old chat from the KROQ show is closed and this is the one we will use from now on. He should be able to buy the code at the merch booth. If not, he can buy it on the DSP website. http://downloads.linkinpark.com If he buys multiple codes at the merch booth, he can redeem them for as many shows online as he wants. The codes come from the shows I believe, not the online site.
-
Oh no, not at all. Any code can be used for any show. I bought Stuttgart 2009 in Germany and I used it for Asia, lol. It's always been that way - since the first show in 2007.

This is the craziest shit I have ever heard besides that other post on the last page I replied to with pictures. I have no idea what your computer was trying to do there but every time I update iTunes it takes maybe 2-3 minutes max, if even that. I update to the newest version of iTunes every time it comes out because I have that alert option turned on and it never takes long. I don't even know if I install Quicktime with it because it might be an option. Or maybe I install Quicktime with it and never use it and choose not to install Safari. Whatever it is I know I haven't ever used Quicktime since I started using iTunes in 2004 - over 7 years ago and my installation time has never gone over 3 minutes. 3 hours? How is that even possible??? An HOUR? Three hours?? What in the world is your computer doing that long lol? The only things that have ever taken that long on my PC are downloading a torrent or defragging. You might need a new PC if your iTunes installation is taking over 10 minutes. I don't understand why people have so many problems with iTunes/Apple. Nothing wrong with either. I have an iPhone and use iTunes but I'm not some Apple fanboy or anything like Jim but iTunes is great. In regards to Jay-Z - it's possible. I don't like how Jay-Z, like Pez said, was in the same cities most of the Australian tour and nothing happened....even Chester talked about it in an interview at the first show. The media was talking about it, etc, Chester said it's possible but I don't know why it never happened....weird. It's possible they'll do a Jay-Z collab in London but it really won't be anything special unless they do like, the entire Collision Course album or something. I sure don't want to hear HALF of Numb/Encore (wtf wtf wtf) again but anything else would be neat. DOYS/LFY, Jiggafaint, POA/99/OSC would be epic. Also, your posts didn't break any rules as far as I can see.

Yeah I think that is a great idea. I have 2 that I am saving for Asia and SpikeMinoda has one...I think it's smart to save for Asia since the 2007/2009 Asia DSPs took a while to get. The 2007 Asian ones took soooo long :/ like weeks lol

Well no, not really. It's just more of an incentive. I've said before that any time you see LP live, it's basically amazing. I shouldn't have come off the way I did - I'm an ignorant asshole sometimes I guess lol. Sorry if I offended you. The setlist is not more important than raising money. I think it's a great thing LP is playing the show and doing something like this. If I lived there I'd do this in a heartbeat. What I also should have said is that I'd be more inclined to come to this from Atlanta if they played a barrage of older stuff they haven't played live before. I've seen LP x12 now and it's almost the exact same songs every time. I saw the exact same show 3 out of 3 shows in a row in January. Yeah the show is cool and all and yeah this show LP is doing is great but I wouldn't go from here just to see the same stuff again. I bet more people like me would travel for this if they played some really rare stuff at this small venue That's what I should have said. Preston, Mary Ann and I (along with the other MFR volunteers) raised over $700 at each of the three shows we went to (over $2,000 total) in January for MFR. I personally donated to MFR in 2008 before Projekt Revolution and did so last year (2010) as well (not counting what I put from my wallet into the MFR donations at these shows this year - I covered some peoples' $1 if they didn't have it for the MFR picture that went up on the big screens before the show). Sorry to come off as an asshole or if I offended you. I think MFR is great and this show is a great idea!

On a more related note.... I'd love No Roads Left. /neverhappen

This is exactly what I'd like to see. Hell yeah. Rotate in BITS/Blackout and have an old song rotated every show. Perfect.

Signed LPLive Flag Auction To Benefit Music For Relief
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
Well I thought this would go for $20 or maybe $25 max. Now it's at $218. Holy shit. -
Don't worry, we raised $700+ in Sunrise, Tampa and Atlanta for MFR plus all the other shows MFR was at like in Europe that they raised money. I've made donations to MFR personally before, annnnnnd.... http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=7344 Don't be so pissy We give a lot to MFR. MFR is very important to us.

I'd do this if I lived in LA IF I knew they'd play a totally different set than what I've seen x3 this touring cycle. $500 for the same songs in likely a shortened setlist isn't worth it to me. Now if they played With You, Figure.09, P5hng Me A*wy, Easier To Run, Hit The Floor, A Place For My Head, and some other cool stuff then I'd try to raise the money Drop almost every single they have in the set besides Faint/OSC, maybe BTH and you'll get more people that will want to go.
