06.09.2011 - Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong

Our Sunrise flag came off the stage on Breaking The Habit and we never saw it again....I think someone took it. Our Tampa flag was taken by some fans after the show and they wouldn't give it back, and our Atlanta flag was being put into a security man's bag to take home. We blew up, shoved every pass we had in his face, said it was an MFR flag and we needed it back ASAP and after 5 minutes he finally gave it up. So we ended up with 1 of the 3 flags, plus we have the Cincinnati flag still for the canceled show there in February. Sucks about the HK one -

Yeah man :/ I asked if they kept it because it's awesome but they had to leave it because no one had any room. I woukd've paid for shipping to get it here lol. At least it was on the stage though. -

I think Blackout comes off as good as it could - I'd say it's pretty good. WTCFM comes off fucking epic. BITS I think the double singing is a bit weird, it's alright live but not the best. Wretches brings the place down...shit is sick. Loved seeing that open. Catalyst is pretty solid and Messenger comes off well too. Iridescent puts me to sleep...I don't like the song and dislike the sampled vocals live even more lol. Worst ATS song live to me is WFTE. I hate hate hate how Chester tries to rap the intro with Mike and the middle rap part with him. That is just terrible. Chester in my opinion can't sing the song very well when he sings, like "All I want to do is trade this life for something new, holding on to what I haven't got" - I think that sounds really bad. WFTE is easily my least favorite ATS song live....sounds terrible every time I've heard it and seen it in person. I told Pooch Chester sounds like a complete clown trying to rap with Shinoda. Drop WFTE. -

Ah that sucks, they left that awesome poster they hung at the front of the stage behind. One of the best ones I've seen. I would've taken it for a giveaway lol -
The second show of the Asian leg of this fall tour, and fourth show since the European Tour, brings Linkin Park to the Olympic Park Gymnastics Gymnasium in Seoul, Korea. This is the band's third show in Seoul ever and this is their third show at the same venue there - the 14,000 seat Olympic stadium. They stopped by in 2003 on the last date of their Australia and Asia Tour (show page here) and in 2007 on the last date of their Asian Tour (show page here). Otherwise known as where Joe Hahn is from, Korea has brought huge, loud crowds (just listen to the recordings) both times they've played there before and I'm sure this will be no exception. Here's a great proshot video of a few clips of the 2003 show in Seoul: The first show in Asia (Hong Kong) brought the same setlist the band played in Las Vegas recently (show page here) except with 'The Requiem' being in place of 'Cure For The Itch'. They've played essentially the same "B16" set at all three shows of the fall tour so far. We know by looking at the 2010 and 2011 tours in Europe, Australia, North America and Europe again that LP likes to play the same setlist a few shows in a row to start the tour off. I believe Asia will be no exception, so it's possible Seoul will get what Hong Kong got, or maybe not. One thing we do know is that LP is beginning to be a bit unpredictable with the setlists (and that's a good thing). They'll randomly drop a song for another we don't expect them to play that day, or they'll change a set up a good bit for a show randomly. This tour hopefully will get some pretty cool stuff. Many people are guessing 'Robot Boy' will be debuted on this tour while others are guessing one of the Tokyo shows will get "A Thousand Suns" from front-to-back while other people would like to hear the return of 'With You'. What do you think LP will do for this tour? What show will we get a change? Seoul? Will 'Robot Boy' come at all? What do you think will be included in the other two setlists the band will play on this tour? Do you like 'The Requiem' or 'Cure For The Itch' better as the opening song? Is anyone from LPLive headed to the show in Korea? After an off day on the 9th, LP heads to Japan to play five shows there in seven days. Find the full 2011 touring schedule here. SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Faint 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. What I've Done 06. No More Sorrow 07. From The Inside 08. Jornada Del Muerto 09. Waiting For The End 10. Burning In The Skies 11. Numb 12. Not even close to the same thing at all. The Cure is a CFTI demo basically and CFTI MTM Tour Version is a remix. They don't even sound the same. I think same set here as Vegas. Robot Boy in Japan when they do ATS front to back (another prediction). -
Same thing I wondered - not news whatsoever, moved to General LP Discussion. Thanks!

Linkin Park kicks off their Asian leg of their fall tour in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong. Chek Lap Kok is an island in Hong Kong where the Hong Kong International Airport sits. The Asia-World Expo is also located there, which contains the Asia-World Arena - the spot of the Linkin Park show. Hong Kong, a former British territory and a current city-state of China (like Macao) is the only spot in China where LP will be playing this fall. The band has played there twice before, once in 2004 (show page here) and then on the 5th show of their 2007 Asian Tour (show page here). As we all know, Linkin Park played two warm-up shows, one being the Secret Show for Japan, in Las Vegas (show page here) and Los Angeles (show page here) last week. The setlists were a variation of Europe's B16 set but came with one surprise: the return of 'Cure For The Itch' for the first time since the last show of Projekt Revolution 2008. This is the version they debuted in Mountain View, CA in 2007 (show page here) - what we call the "MTM Tour Version": In Los Angeles, LP dropped 'Empty Spaces' and 'When They Come For Me' for the first time since they were introduced to the setlists in October 2010 in Buenos Aires, Argentina (show page here). They instead replaced them with 'The Messenger', which wasn't played at all in Europe (except for the acoustic part of the LPU Summit in Hamburg - show page here). The last time it was played at a regular show before Los Angeles was in Phoenix on the winter tour (show page here) - a nice six month break for the song. We've all also seen Pooch's posts on Facebook... "Loading out after successful rehearsal. Worked on some new stuff for upcoming Asia shows. YAY." and "Different set lists at some shows. Can't tell you what they will be, but definitely different from Europe." It's well known that LP usually practices their "well known" sets at the beginning of the tour though, so it's possible Hong Kong will get another setlist variation that they played in Vegas and LA. However, at some point during this tour I think it's safe to say we'll be getting something awesome. What do you guys think it will be? Will they debut 'Robot Boy' finally? Will they drop in 'With You', like they've been hinting at over the past year? Or will we get something else? What would you like LP to surprise us with? Who from LPLive is headed to the Hong Kong show? M&G for anyone for the first show? Or perhaps some live updates during the show? After a day off on the 7th, LP plays in Seoul, Korea on the 8th before doing five in a row in Japan. This tour is sure to be an exciting one, with a three-day LPU Summit coming in Tokyo as well as an Indonesian show and plenty more. All of the 2011 fall tour dates can be found here - be sure to check back here on LPLive for full coverage of the entire tour, as always! SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Faint 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. What I've Done 06. No More Sorrow 07. From The Inside 08. Jornada Del Muerto 09. Waiting For The End 10. Burning In The Skies 11. Numb 12. The Radiance (Live Version) 13. Iridescent 14. Fallout 15. The Catalyst 16. Shadow Of The Day 17. In The End 18. Bleed It Out (w/ 'A Place For My Head' & drum solo bridge) ---------------------------------------- 19. Empty Spaces 20. When They Come For Me 21. Papercut 22. New Divide 23. Crawling 24. One Step Closer

Same. And I never had anyone contact me with a WID demo. Wilderness posted a thread on it or maybe on my FB with this one day and I said it was a fake but I was never contacted to offer money for a demo or anything. This is definitely fake.

Pooch's Mayan setlist pic here: http://ow.ly/i/gDL5 Disagree MUCHO. I saw the 09 set 4 times. Second best LP set I've ever seen after the Set A on PR07 and that was just my first LP show so I might be biased. 09 set destroys the 2011 set I saw 3 times this year. I haven't seen Faint opening and I'm sure I'd love it (I hope they do it at Deluna) but the crowd would have to react well for me to say it's epic. Faint with no crowd bouncing (like ATL 2011) will make me say meh. 09 set was fucking amazing for me. Best encore of LP I've ever seen by far far far. Well I sure do lol - he raps on When They Come For Me and Waiting For The End, two big parts in those 2 songs. He has always said he sung stuff before Chester came in and did his part, especially on MTM as we can hear from the Fear and Drum Song demos but I think he said he did it before that too. Regardless I still see him as a rapper even though he's singing more and more. He still raps more than he sings during the live set. 100% agree. I know for a fact Pooch doesn't like the exact same songs every night. I'm not saying he hates LP or hates their music or anything like that at all, I'm saying I know he gets frustrated with basically the same 25~ songs on tour, then hearing them all most shows and editing them for hours in the DSPs. Anyone would be like that. So when he said YAY NEW STUFF I really think he means something cool. He loves APFMH. He told Mike they should do BIO -> apfmh bridge then launch into APFMH full after the GO AWAY part. No joke. Soooooo what he said in my opinion means Asia is getting something badass. -

Yeah same here. I mean that's a great set, I'd love it live. I think what gets most people here is when LP has referenced playing old songs recently they were saying they'd play oldschool stuff in a small, intimate setting. An d then for Robot Boy they wanted to debut it in a special way. So much guessing and speculation would assume we'd get one or the other for this show. Perhaps Asia will get something but now I am pretty sure pigs would fly before LP would play something old again lol. Looks very very unlikely at this point. CFTI is badass, yeah, but still. -

Please don't bitch when they change something that's in every show just about for something that hasn't been played in over 3 years. If Shinoda sees that, that just gives him more reason to say "told you so". -

Aaron posted this on Facebook on an LPLive status today and this sums up my thoughts: "Why don't they just quit being so damn anal about setlists and play some fucking old songs? So what if not everyone knows what Reading My Eyes is? If you play the hits and throw in a rare song or two who cares? If someone is there just to hear the hits do you really want them to be your fan anyway?" -

Good statement Astat, I agree with you and understand what you are saying but he just meant that giving $500 for this show is a lot for most people and therefore LP knows the more hardcore fanbase is tempted to do this, and therefore thinks LP should do something special for them. Or something like that -
