Updated w/ Yokohama. DSP's are coming in really fast on this tour, faster than Pooch/Dylan have done DSPs since 2008 at the very least...maybe 2007 when we got them 3 days later. I don't remember it being this fast in a long time.

No idea what that is then, probably the same show. It's not Live Earth.

21.09.2011 - Jakarta, Indonesia
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Previous Show Discussion
Damn that is expensive for one show. Yeah, really struggling here for preshow post info when nothing is changing. I thought when Pooch said new stuff we were getting some changes. Difficult tour to cover with 1. not really anything changing at all and 2. info that is hard to get from Asia. -

Linkin Park's next show of their Asian Tour comes in Jakarta, Indonesia at the Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno. The band has only performed in Jakarta once before, in 2004 at the Pantai Carnaval (show page here) so this is sure to be a special show for both LP and the fans. After Jakarta, LP plays in Bangkok and Singapore to end the tour and has a one-off show at the DeLuna Festival in Pensacola, FL in mid October. At the last show in Taipei, LP played set C7. Here is a video of 'Blackout': One thing I'd like to point out about this tour is how 'Cure For The Itch' hasn't made an appearance! The band played it at both shows in the US before Asia (Las Vegas and Los Angeles) to open the show but it hasn't been played in Asia yet. It wasn't played for over three years before it opened the show in Vegas, but it seems like it might not come back again for a while! In good news, both 'Blackout' and 'Burning In The Skies' are being played quite a bit this tour after being semi-rare in Australia in 2010 and North America and Europe this year. Although 'Wretches & Kings' and 'The Messenger' are gone from the shows on this tour, the setlist they had both of them in (called Set A1) now features 'Blackout' (a fan favorite) in the encore in place of 'The Messenger', which definitely will make some people happy. Interesting fact: 'Blackout' was played 3 times on the Australian Tour, 8 times on the North American Tour, 3 times on the Summer Tour, and 4 times so far on the Fall Tour. It's been played at the last four shows of the current tour. With only three shows left, can we expect anything out of the ordinary in Asia? Would you like to see Mike sing 'No Roads Left' over 'Bleed It Out' again? The reaction to that was very positive so hopefully it pops back up before the end of the tour. I don't think 'Robot Boy' is going to be played so I think us hoping for that part of 'No Roads Left' is about all we'll get this tour. Anyone from LPLive going to the show in Jakarta? M&G? After Jakarta, there's a show in Bangkok on the 23rd and a show in Singapore on the 25th. For the full 2011 tour schedule, setlists and more, click here. SETLIST: (Live Updates) 01. The Requiem 02. Papercut 03. Given Up 04. New Divide 05. Faint 06. Empty Spaces 07. When They Come For Me 08. No More Sorrow 09. Jornada Del Muerto 10. Waiting for The End 11. Wisdom, Justice, & Love 12. I think the encore should open with New Divide (Moscow Intro). Put WID before BIO. Saw it there in Tampa and it was really really good. Good set but I believe WJL/Iridescent starting the encore is mega-weak lol. Almost as bad as this encore: http://lplive.net/shows/20110128.php Awesome to see both BITS and Blackout in the same set though.

Less than a month. -
On the 19th, Linkin Park played at the Nangang Exhibition Hall in Taipei, Taiwan for the eighth show on their Asian Tour this fall. Their first show in Taiwan came in 2007 (show page here). It was the second biggest show ever in Taiwan (after Michael Jackson) with 40,000 people and most LP fans will remember this city being where LP "mysteriously" entered the studio to record a song on that tour. The song ended up being 'We Made It' (Busta Rhymes), not a new LP song. In 2008, LP was supposed to play Taipei on their Music For Relief Benefit Tour at the Zhōngshān Soccer Stadium but it was canceled along with the rest of the tour when Chester got hurt in October. They returned in 2009 for the 2009 Summer Rock Summit (show page here) and that's where Mike debuted a verse of 'Dedicated' over the intro of 'Points Of Authority' for the first time. SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Papercut 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. What I've Done 06. Empty Spaces 07. When They Come For Me 08. No More Sorrow 09. Jornada Del Muerto 10. Waiting For The End 11. Burning In The Skies 12. Numb 13. The Radiance (Live Version) 14. Breaking The Habit 15. Fallout 16. The Catalyst 17. Crawling 18. Faint 19. One Step Closer ------------------------------ 20. Wisdom, Justice & Love 21. Iridescent 22. Blackout 23. New Divide 24. In The End 25. Bleed It Out (w/ 'A Place For My Head' bridge) Setlist picture here - thanks Sam! Thoughts? 'Blackout' is making a nice run of appearances on this tour in Asia!

LA DSP is up at the usual place, enjoy.

Some of you say how ATS is the most radio friendly thing around and some of you say it's not radio at all. If you think LP is selling out, at least agree lol. Yeah, so that's why everything charted well? What the hell even charted from MTM? WID, BIO and SOTD. LOATR and GU did nothing. WID and BIO are rock and rap-rock. SOTD is pop-ish. Your argument doesn't add up. Sorry.
-
Then stop being so demanding. Getting LA soon. Working on these. I don't have the $ to just throw down for all of these all of the time.
-
Yeah but I saw four PR08 shows and LP blew them away in 09. PR08 really looked like the band was exhausted and tired of touring. In 09 they were bringing it big, I had a great time at those shows. The setlists were better IMO.
-
LOL! That's not why they moved on. LP doesn't give a flying fuck about sales. Do you not pay attention to any interviews?
-
Yeah the 2009 tour had a great setlist. Awesome tour - wish the US had a few more random shows.
-
Gotta be the dumbest thing I have ever heard by anyone. ATS is the OPPOSITE of selling out. Just had this conversation with 10 Years on Sunday.
-
I think he is referring to the new version of Set A1 http://lplive.net/shows/20110913.php I can't believe that set has Blackout in it now lol, damn, so jealous. Really hoping to see Blackout in Pensacola.

For their last show in Japan on this tour, Linkin Park will play the Intex Osaka in Osaka, Japan on the 16th. This will be the seventh show out of eleven in Asia for this tour. LP first played Osaka in May 2001 (show page here) at the IMP Hall, where Chester covered 'Jane Says' by Jane's Addiction on acoustic guitar for the second time (the first being the day before in Tokyo). In 2003, the band played the Osaka Castle Hall (show page here), and then came back in 2006 for the Summer Sonic Festival at the WTC Open Air Stadium (show page here). 'Pushing Me Away' (Piano Version) made its live debut at that show! In 2007, Linkin Park took the stage at the Prefectural Gymnasium Naniwa (show page here) and played the Maishima in 2009 for the Summer Sonic Festival again (show page here). That means that LP has played a total of four shows in Osaka at four different venues, something the band usually can't say about a city - playing a different venue each time they go there. Here's a pretty good proshot video containing clips of different songs (and Joe headbanging) from their 2009 Summer Sonic show in Osaka: At the last show in Nagoya (show page here), 'Blackout' returned to the set again for the second show in a row (something it usually doesn't do) and 'Lying From You' appeared again after mysteriously being dropped in Yokohama (show page here). Also, 'No Roads Left' wasn't over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out', but it's likely to return. It's likely that LP will rotate these few setlists they played in Japan for the rest of the Asian Tour so I don't think we should expect much more in terms of surprises. I will have to say though, 'No Roads Left' over 'Bleed It Out' is awesome and we can only hope it'll give Mike confidence to sing the whole song live someday. Would you like to see the full 'No Roads Left' sometime, even if it's only performed once? Also, will 'Robot Boy' go down as the first album song to not be played live by Linkin Park? Anyone going to Osaka from LPLive? The band has two off days (something they usually don't get in the middle of a tour) before playing in Taipei, TW on the 19th. All of the 2011 tour dates can be found here. SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Papercut 03. Given Up 04. New Divide 05. Faint 06. Empty Spaces 07. When They Come For Me 08. No More Sorrow 09. Jornada Del Muerto 10. Waiting For The End 11. Wisdom, Justice, & Love 12. Iridescent 13. Numb 14. The Radiance (Live Version) 15. Breaking The Habit 16. Shadow Of The Day 17. Crawling 18. One Step Closer ----------------------------------- 19. Fallout 20. The Catalyst 21. Blackout 22. In The End 23. What I've Done 24. Bleed It Out (w/ drum solo & 'A Place For My Head' bridge)

You are right. I saw this post and was like "hmm"...I thought it was likely but I never remembered it exactly. I was just looking to see if LOATR was played in Utah in 2008 (random I know but it's semi-near Vegas and I was just checking)....bam: http://lplive.net/shows/20080308.php 3:46 Nice find! -
We always like to support community ideas and I ran across an interesting one today. This is the first group I've seen like this but there's a French group on Facebook that wants to get an LPU Summit to come to Paris. We don't know yet of any touring plans that will take Linkin Park back to Europe, but regardless, these fans are very interested in getting the third European LPU Summit (after London's last year and Hamburg's this year) to come to Paris, France. Sure, we all want a Summit in our city but why not support the fans that are reaching out, being creative and actively trying to get one in theirs? The description of the group reads, "Join to have a possible LPU Summit in Paris. LPU Summit is an event bringing together members of Linkin Park Underground around the world to live unique experiences (visit backstage, playing instruments of the group, visit the group's bus, etc.)." Here's a video of the first LPU Summit (something that is catching on with fans and becoming quite popular) last November in London. Join and support their cause here. Good luck Paris!

On September 7th, 2010, Linkin Park's first album since "Minutes To Midnight" in 2007 leaked online. The name? "A Thousand Suns". Officially released one year ago, on September 14, in the US, the album was a huge departure from the band's previous works. Evolving with each album, LP chose to make ATS a huge mixture of electronic sounds, rock elements, ballads and much more. With this one-year anniversary, we say - Happy Birthday, "A Thousand Suns"! Live, this album is on track to have the shortest touring cycle of any of LP's other albums. Kicking off with a few scattered shows in 2010 before embarking on a world tour that started in South America, the touring cycle for "A Thousand Suns" is slated to end on October 16 this year in Pensacola, FL. It's also the only album Linkin Park has made that has toured North America and Asia ONE time each. Finally, "A Thousand Suns" looks to be the only album so far to not have every song played off of it during the (short?) touring cycle. 'The Requiem', 'Empty Spaces', 'When They Come For Me', 'Jornada Del Muerto', 'Waiting For The End', 'Wisdom, Justice, & Love', 'Iridescent', 'Fallout', and 'The Catalyst' have all pretty much been setlist staples since the beginning of the world tour. has undergone the most transformation out of any song live, turning into a new outro for 'Numb' and encompassing a keyboard piece with Mike singing vocals from 'The Catalyst' into his vocoder. 'Wretches & Kings' was played at every show for the first few legs of the world tour (South America, Europe, and Australia), was rotated a bit in North America this year and then was dropped; it hasn't been played since February. 'The Messenger' is about the same, having appeared at just one show (and one LPU Summit) since then. 'Burning In The Skies' and 'Blackout' both made their debuts in Australia in December and have remained in the setlists since then, but are still both pretty rare to catch at a show. Finally, 'Robot Boy' has not been touched in any shape or form and with the touring cycle coming to a close with less than ten shows left, many fans are thinking it won't be played. It will be the first song on a major album by them ("Hybrid Theory", "Meteora", "Minutes To Midnight", and "A Thousand Suns") to have not been played live. Regardless, "A Thousand Suns" has changed both the musical direction of the band as well as their live shows. Brad and Chester now play drums during certain songs, the full band sings on some songs, Mike has his own permanent keyboard in the middle of the stage, and more. What do you think about "A Thousand Suns" one year later? Does it still have the same effect when you listen to it now versus when you first heard it? What are your top songs from the album? And how does this album compare to the previous albums by Linkin Park for you? And finally, will 'Robot Boy' ever see the light of day on a stage? Discuss!
