  1. What is that from? And when?
  2. You didn't see a 2009 show. That setlist was fantastic. New Divide was actually good live then...and that encore was soooooo sick. 2009 setlist on paper may not look like the best but wow that's easily the best overall setlist I've seen them play, #1 with arguably Set A (Wake/GU opening) from PR07. Really solid. 2009 was much better than the 2011 set I saw (ATS tour main set w/ Wretches opening). Numb/BTH transition was sooooo sick. Shinoda jammed. Session/GU/FTI/SIB/NMS/LFY/POA/WID...what a run of songs. Only dud in that entire set for me was SOTD because the crowds were jamming big during LOATR even at that time. Anyway I am a huge fan of the 09 set even though it had all singles mostly. DBS was really terrible and a bad idea to put in the show but whatever lol. Papercut and APFMH I missed for one tour but hey, those 18 songs on that tour were fantastic. And we got RME over POA in Stuttgart thanks to Anne asking Mike for it for me. Epic. I had more fun at Stuttgart than any HCT show even though the Camden setlist was fucking sick. POA, WTCFM, VICTIMIZED/QWERTY, APFMH (!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and the best encore they've ever done. So good.
  3. Travis Barker went back on his word? He's not going to Australia now? LOL wtf?? He said he was going! When Blink was first announced, it was Blink without Travis...then he said he'd take a boat and he'd be there. I wasn't aware he went back on that. I believe the "Headline Set A" pic came from the stage and the other one came from Shinoda's keyboard area or something. Not exactly sure - ask the girl on Twitter (we RT'd the pic from her). It's legit though, she got it at the show. Ha Blackout and BITS debut...lucky. I didn't even see them in a proper setting. Yes I saw each one rehearsed 5x but it'd be cool to see them in a show.
  4. The band effectively wrecked their cycle here. A full blown Euro tour with festivals, headlining shows, etc and like 5 new songs (aka the HCT sets) in Europe in May/June would be been perfect. Follow it with the HCT with additional shows in Florida and other places it didn't reach with 3 different setlists, do Mexico/South America, Australia (headlining shows) and another return to Europe and you'd have a good cycle. And release the singles like this: LOST IN THE ECHO, IN MY REMAINS, CASTLE OF GLASS, BURN IT DOWN
  5. Well that's epic right there lol, make it happen. That'd be a great setlist. Anything with APFMH, POA, LFY/Papercut, OSC in the setlist somewhere is great.
  6. You really think two more setlists? I would assume just one - this for the headlining shows and one more for the festivals (Soundwave). Anyway I agree with you on everything you said except one point of this. I know you mean they aren't doing another US tour and they're slowly sinking back how much they tour, and hell Europe might not even get another LT tour, but I do like how they brought back A Place For My Head, Points Of Authority, With You, Runaway and Somewhere I Belong in 2012. And they also kept From The Inside and Blackout surprisingly. Well, LOL, just for one tour unfortunately. That part is legit and 2 of the 3 HCT sets are pretty solid (B and C)....just so many singles in a row. It's disappointing because they seemed like they really enjoyed changing the setlists up in 2007 and 2008 (even changing them mid tour both years)....until maybe PR08 when they got exhausted from touring....but I was under the impression they were doing something different for Australia. I wonder when they will finally get tired of playing In The End, Numb, New Divide, The Catalyst, What I've Done, etc, if ever. As much as I love APFMH, drop the 5 APFMH repeats, keep one and add Faint, Runaway, One Step Closer, VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY) and Points Of Authority and that 12 song set would be the best show of 2012 lol.
  7. Looks like you'll get the beautiful Set A (home to the worst encore I've seen from LP) at the sideshows and an abbreviated Set A with no encore for Soundwave. Yay.
  8. That Thrice song is intense. Glad I got to see them play that live before they went on hiatus. Most of the songs on that sampler are really solid. Did My Time live by Korn, wow, what a great track.
  9. Maybe in Japan they'll incorporate one of these songs into a setlist.
  10. Please for the love of God, that encore is fucking miserable live. One thing you did get completely right is replacing LIES GREED MISERY with CASTLE OF GLASS. IN MY REMAINS and CASTLE OF GLASS are both solid songs...LGM live, however, is pretty bad. Do it like this: A Place For My Head (Long Intro; Ext. Outro) Faint (Ext. Outro) Given Up (Ext. Outro w/ Extra Note) With You (2012 Ext. Intro; Ext. Scratch Outro) Somewhere I Belong (2012 Intro) IN MY REMAINS VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY) Points Of Authority I'LL BE GONE Waiting For The End (Apaches Intro w/ 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' v2 rap; Wall Of Noise Outro) CASTLE OF GLASS Numb POWERLESS BURN IT DOWN The Catalyst What I've Done (Ambo Intro) In The End Bleed It Out ------------------------------------------ LOST IN THE ECHO (2012 Intro) Papercut One Step Closer (Ext. Outro) I think Faint #2 would be better than #3 but hey, I'm down for wherever it is. I just moved it up one spot on my list. And I put VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY) before Points since it has been kicking ass right there. Fuck New Divide. It ruins the energy at this point. Added AMBO to WID because fuck it. And here's something so easy for the band to do - just take the Set C encore and use that. It's not nearly as epic as Set B but hey, this is very doable. LITE/Papercut/OSC destroys BID/ITE/BIO, especially if BIO has no extenders. Or do a WID (Ambo Intro)/Papercut/OSC encore and move LITE up.
  11. Haha yeah wow, I thought Vegas would at least get LOST IN THE ECHO opening.
  12. Haha yeah. Wow that's disappointing since Mike said new setlists for 2013, but oh well. Personally that's my least favorite setlist of all of 2012 (counting the 2 European sets and the 3 HCT sets, so my least favorite of 5) because it ends with 14 (read that: 14) singles and the encore is really weak. Just my thoughts. I thought COG coming in would be good, and it is, but I fear it'll be stuck as a single in the setlists for years and years. And BIO is back to stagnant. Set B and Set C with APFMH opening and With You opening are pretty solid since one has the best encore I think the band has ever had (TINFOIL, Faint, LFY/Papercut, OSC) plus WTCFM, and the other HAD VICTIMIZED/QWERTY, LFY/Papercut (holy epic at those 4 being back-to-back...aka Bristow) and WTCFM, but now it has a full LFY, a full Papercut, a WTCFM and a solid encore. Still good. I'm pretty surprised they didn't try I'LL BE GONE or POWERLESS since IBG is on the radio and POWERLESS had a music video. I guess they won't be singles? And it looks like Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne (headlining shows) will get this set. LP might troll us all if they do this set minus like 3-4 songs for Soundwave. Ouch. APFMH? Highlight of this set is the first 6 songs. Faint, Papercut, With You, Given Up, Somewhere I Belong. That's pretty badass. And then VICTIMIZED/QWERTY and POA. Rock on.
  13. Aka just a warmup/rehearsal show...I wouldn't even count this as a very legit show lol. They always warm up in Vegas for overseas shows it seems.
  14. They already know of it lol. But pressuring the band to do something isn't a good way to do anything. Let them do it naturally. They brought back With You, Runaway, Points Of Authority, Somewhere I Belong and kept From The Inside and Blackout in 2012...that's pretty legit.
  15. My assumption would be the same setlist for Vegas, Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne, and a different setlist for Soundwave since they are stuck in a time bind for the festivals. However they might rotate but that's not even enough shows to do 3 new setlists for lol. Vegas probably will be something similar to: LOST IN THE ECHO Faint Papercut Given Up With You VICTIMIZED/QWERTY Somewhere I Belong IN MY REMAINS New Divide LIES GREED MISERY Points Of Authority Waiting For The End Breaking The Habit CASTLE OF GLASS Numb (or Numb after Catalyst) LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent The Catalyst or maybe another new song like I'LL BE GONE or POWERLESS What I've Done One Step Closer -------------- BURN IT DOWN In The End Bleed It Out
  16. Moved to one setlist in early 2008. Moved to two setlists in mid 2008. Dropped entirely in 2009. Dropped occasionally in 2010 when they changed the setlists up randomly. (Wasn't at ATS release show in NYC) Back to two setlists in early 2011. And finally back to every setlist from mid 2011 until now thankfully.
  17. On the 16th of February, Linkin Park plays in Las Vegas, Nevada at Planet Hollywood Live at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino for the first LP show of 2013. Unfortunately, this show is advertised (yes it's even on the show poster) as the only show in North America for the band in 2013. Our last big Vegas preshow post, for the show at The Joint @ Hard Rock Hotel in August 2011, chronicles the band's past shows in Vegas up until that time so check that out if you want to know all about LP playing in Vegas over their career. At that show, LP played 'Cure For The Itch' for the first time since August 2008. Since then, there were two shows in Las Vegas in 2012 - both at the same venue (MGM Grand - Garden Arena). The first performance was 'BURN IT DOWN' for the Billboard Music Awards in May (show page here) and the second was the iHeartRadio Music Festival in September (show page here). The band ended 2012 with two big shows in South Africa, a TV performance of 'BURN IT DOWN', a TV performance of 'CASTLE OF GLASS' and then finally the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show (show page here). Since we all know 'CASTLE OF GLASS' was the latest song to debuted off of LIVING THINGS, at the KROQ AAC show the band opened with 'LOST IN THE ECHO' for the first time. Will we see the band use this song to open the 9 shows coming up (Las Vegas and the New Zealand/Australia tour)? Will the headlining shows in Las Vegas, Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne have a different setlist than the five Soundwave shows? So far off of LIVING THINGS, 'I'LL BE GONE', 'ROADS UNTRAVELED', 'SKIN TO BONE', 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' (in full), and 'POWERLESS' have not been played, which is most of the second half of the album. Will Linkin Park debut any of these songs in Las Vegas? Which ones would you like to see them play? WretchesAndKings.net thinks the band might play 'I'LL BE GONE' and 'POWERLESS'. And the one other interesting note about the setlists is that the KROQ AAC setlist said "[to be retired]" next to the 'Sabotage' bridge of 'Bleed It Out'. Maybe the band will try something new over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out' in 2013. Thoughts? What would you like to see them do? 'Bleed It Out' has had quite a variety of bridges, from 'Burning In The Skies' to 'A Place For My Head' to 'Reading My Eyes' to 'No Roads Left' and more. And even though it doesn't have much to do with Las Vegas, it's worth mentioning that in our recent live poll, as of this posting, the three most requested songs for the band to play live again are: 'P5hng Me A*wy', 'Figure.09' and 'Don't Stay'. Who's going to the Las Vegas show? M&G for anyone? From what we understand, there is no opening band at this show (at least from what we can gather) and Linkin Park hits the stage at 9:00pm. The show is not sold out so if you still would like to get a ticket, you can right here for $87.75 (300's balcony level seating). Several friends of LPLive will be at the show, such as Irene, Haley, Kelly, Raquel, and Ana (from MikeShinodaClan). And finally, LP will do an autograph signing at Club Tattoo in Las Vegas at 7:00pm before the show. More information on that can be found here. After this show, the band goes to New Zealand and Australia for a tour that includes 8 shows in 12 days, 5 of those shows being at the Soundwave Festival in Australia. The first show of that tour is on the 21st in Auckland, New Zealand, where the band will have their 8th LPU Summit. After that tour, the only thing that has been announced so far for the rest of the year is the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan in August (Linkin Park is likely playing August 10th in Tokyo and August 11th in Osaka). For the 2013 tour dates (so far), click here. SETLIST: 01. TINFOIL 02. Faint (Ext. Outro) 03. Papercut 04. Given Up (Ext. Outro w/ Extra Note) 05. With You (2012 Ext. Intro; 2012 Scratch Outro) 06. Somewhere I Belong (2012 Intro) 07. New Divide 08. VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY) 09. Points Of Authority 10. LIES GREED MISERY 11. Waiting For The End (Apaches Intro w/ 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' v2 rap; Ext. Outro) 12. Breaking The Habit 13. CASTLE OF GLASS 14. LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent (Ballad Medley) 15. The Catalyst 16. LOST IN THE ECHO (2012 Intro) 17. Numb 18. What I've Done 19. One Step Closer (Ext. Outro) ---------------------------------------------------- 20. BURN IT DOWN 21. In The End 22. Bleed It Out (Album Version) Setlist pics here and here. Still nothing about a DSP on the DSP website. - 'CASTLE OF GLASS' replaces 'IN MY REMAINS' (which was between 'Somewhere I Belong' and 'New Divide') in the set. Looks like this will be the setlist for Auckland, Sydney (headline) and Melbourne (headline) as well. - 'Bleed It Out' album version for the first time since early summer 2007.
  18. Hope so! Working on the preshow post now - should be done soon.
  19. We will have our first look at the setlist tomorrow!
  20. Sounds very very very unlikely but you never know, we'll fact check it with the Vegas setlist.
  21. lol how could you really confuse this with LP polling fans? we are a fansite
  22. Wow thanks so much for Out Out and the track descriptions. The descriptions are really good....so much insight into the songs. TRF is such an underrated band. I have about 20 tracks from them that I listen to a LOT but I don't ever listen to stuff like Recycled Air or a few of the other songs. After reading the descriptions I was able to "rediscover" some of them and I was like ...damn I'm really missing out on some quality stuff. I also had never listened to the "second chorus version" of Below Your Window. And the descriptions gave a lot of good info about their live shows (they mentioned a good bit what songs they played). Thanks Energy for everything you've done for us in regards to this band over the years (especially now with the help with the tracks) and to SomedudeRemix for all the work in compiling all of this. An interesting fact is that they talk about the cabin in Big Bear, California where they went to escape city life and to record/write songs. The "9 days of terror" fugitive Chris Dorner that has been so popular in the LA area lately was just burned to a crisp in a cabin in...you guessed it....Big Bear. I wonder how far away their cabin was from the one where Dorner was. I think we should add the promo CD with Bitter Pill (Demo) / Driving Salinas / Again (Demo) to the .zip if it isn't already there. I just downloaded it from Energy's link. The "train passing transition" would be cool to hear someday if it ever surfaced. And the radio edit of NYC Blackout. I made an 18 song playlist one day that I have in my car and it's based on what I would have liked to see them play a full headline show with (lol just being imaginative). This Is My Ruin, Again (second favorite song), Break Out, God Bless, Bridges Under Water, Bitter Pill (favorite song by them), If Your Friend Was Drowning..., NYC Blackout, Awake All You Who Slumber, Grace, Driving Salinas, Midnight On Horatio Street, 25 Years, Below Your Window. And the 3 songs for an "encore" would be The Game You Can't Win, Gage Park and Saturnine. lol and then they admit the hate for Saturnine in the tracklisting. But yeah that's what I jam to by them quite a bit.
  23. Obviously Don't Stay has the most plays. It was played at every show from 2003-2007, right? And dropped randomly a few times on PR07, and in 2008 it was moved from a setlist or two or something. I'll have to check but it was played quite a bit. Definitely a lot better choices than Don't Stay but it's interesting that it got a lot of votes (it's a rocking badass song, especially live) since it's been played so much. I guess it's like if Papercut went away (like it did in 2009)....people would want it back.
  24. I still would really like to see the Making of MTM that was shown before the Webster Hall viewing. If they had sent out discs to theaters to show the movie, we'd for sure have it, but they did it via the Internet or something I think. I don't think it'll ever surface.
  25. Yeah for sure but it's weird they'd get Muse to headline a day over Linkin Park, but they both have headlined the festival before so I guess they are fair game. And yeah maybe they play a new song in Japan. Huge studio break after Australia perhaps. I bet they'll go back and do the Mall movie music stuff after Australia, hence no tour. But maybe they do tour....we don't know for sure what they'll do yet even though it's sounding like no tour.
