  1. I would just hate if there was a disc two haha. It's like "here we have the album, a collection of music that we have worked on for years. Here is a wannabe LPU11 packaged in for another five bucks. Enjoy."
  2. Robot Boy and The Messenger? Oh wait, this thread title is "vote for the song that doesn't have 2,000 layers and changes its mood every 2 minutes". Robot Boy and The Messenger are amazing songs. They both have great meaningful lyrics, and are very mellow and easy to listen to. I voted for Burning In The Skies. Mike sounds like a robot in this song (not to make fun of the use of vocal effects throughout the album), and Chester puts on his stalest vocal performance on the record.
  3. This was sick. Not better than the original though.
  4. This sucks. They merge everything nowadays. First was fm.com, now this.
  5. Eh, I don't know. The vocals do seem out of place, but that's because he is better at softer singing. His voice isn't meant for a Rock song.
  6. If there are any demos of songs that we already have, or tracks we heard little of, that you would like to get ahold of, what would they be? Demos of songs wishlist - Don't Stay (it originally had reggae guitars) - Shadow Of The Day (it had rapping in it before) - The Catalyst (lyrics were different, "deserts fade into the sky", "violent lullaby") Demos of songs that were unreleased wishlist - Grecian - There is one demo on the ATS documentary, where Mike plays around five or six tracks after the shortened demo of "The Catalyst" is played. It comes in right after a quick BITS instrumental, the song is scatted by Mike, sing duh na duh na na and then it glitches to the next song.
  7. I forgot my own EP, so check it out in the post.
  8. Well it's depressing they to know for sure the song was never finished. Now I see why the user "Grecian" has his signature saying "they never finished me". So it is official. Great.
  9. 01. Copy of A Thousand Suns that is rare because I own it and you don't have the specific one I own.
  10. Easily: 01. The Catalyst 02. Waiting For The End 03. Iridescent 04. Wretches And Kings 05. Burning In The Skies All radio-friendly except the first track.
  11. Setlist B: 01. The Messenger - Long acoustic introduction, about 10 minutes long. Then "No Woman No Cry" over the acoustic guitar. Then continue the acoustic guitar for another 20 minutes. The song itself kicks in. Extended outro of 30 minutes (group oh ohhhhhhh oh's). This is the only song you need to play to impress people anyway.
  12. I don't think it is stupid to say Happy Birthday to an album that for the past five years has given me so much. This album has brought me countless experiences in my life. It launched my low-key music career in remixing, the songs themselves have made me think about life twice, and appreciate that there are still artists out there that care about what people go through, and not "i got my swagga up to max, i be mackin all the bitchez". If anything, saying Happy Birthday is the least we can do for this record. I brought the original CD, special edition CD/DVD, bought it on iTunes, have the whole album on both of my iPods, and the documentary video from the DVD on my iPod touch. This album means tons to me. It hasn't aged within the five years i've been listening to it. I can listen to "Feel Like Home" and "Cigarettes" and still be satisfied. Call me stupid, but I would kiss this album.
  13. 01. We heard this already, but it's nice to have. 02. Looks intresting, I can't wait to see the new elements in the song. 03. Eh, we had enough P.O.A
  14. If you were to create a six-track EP for a friend who isn't a fan of Linkin Park or hasn't heard much of their music, using any song from the FOUR STUDIO ALBUMS to represent their sound or even just personal favorites, which would you choose? It has to be six tracks. We all know somebody is going to use the interludes or short tracks as a joke, so hopefully that one post gets out of the way early. Here is mine: 01. In The End 02. From The Inside 03. Hands Held High 04. In Pieces 05. Blackout 06. The Catalyst I would put The Messenger, because it's my favorite song from them, but, it doesn't represent their sound.
  15. Could this lead you to believe that "Grecian" was one of the final five? Grecian is not ASP. In the demo we heard, the instrumental is a tad different and the screaming is scatting so that should clear that up. The only reason I would assume it's Grecian, is because it was the only other track we heard from the DVD. The others have been released (Across The Line, and Blackbirds). Is there a source which proves the track wasn't finished?
  16. Across The Line. Just knock off the list already, it's ear poison.
  17. I like that they are doing it this way. Plus the guitars in the original version of the song seem boring.
  18. Many people are curious about the "sophomore album" that was scrapped in favor of Meteora. Many people also believe that Meteora was a record label album, and all of the creativity was turned down in favor of sonic copies of Hybrid Theory tracks (In The End is similar to Somewhere I Belong) (Pushing Me Away is similar to Numb). They creativity was there. They made a really unique guitar effect in Somewhere I Belong. Plus Breaking The Habit and Nobody's Listening had unique instrumentals that are really experimental and different. Don't Stay was originally supposed to have reggae/ska guitar plucks, but they dropped them in favor of a more rock/nu-metal sound. Halo uses a clinking sound effect throughout the song. They had alot of unique ideas, some that were never presented in their previous album. They talked about re-writing the chorus of SIB belong over fifty times, so do you think that this album had potential to be something unique and different, but it was rushed into a mainstream carbon copy of the last album?
  19. 03. From The Inside - The song itself brings back so many memories. When I listen to this song and close my eyes, my whole world changes. I feel as if I am back in 2003 on the winter time. Such a powerful, yet beautiful song. 02. In Pieces - Another powerful song. Lyrically, this song describes one of my situations in life, and it helps me out alot. I loved this song when I first heard it, and I still adore it today. The way it builds up layer-by-layer, and the guitar solo, it is perfect. 01. The Messenger - The Messenger. What more can I say. I think this is Linkin Park's best song. The emotional performance Chester brings to the table is untouchable. The lyrics remind me of my Mom. She passed away when I was a little kid. She told me she would always watch over me, so, the song gives me that feeling that she is there. Honorable mention: P5HNG ME A*WY, Hands Held High, Burning In The Skies, Iridescent, The Catalyst
  20. Don't know why, but I would love to have this mix of The Catalyst in 320kbps. I like the "God Save Us" part with Mike's vocals more. I also like the ending, how the screaming in the background is altered. It seems more war-like.
  21. I don't know about all of the disbelief here. They've probably been writing since the summer, so who knows. A Winter 2011 release doesn't sound too out of reach.
  22. Custom setlist: 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches and Kings 03. New Divide 04. Empty Spaces 05. When They Come For Me 06. Lying From You 07. Given Up 08. No More Sorrow 09. Robot Boy 10. Jornada Del Muerto 11. Waiting For The End 12. Hands Held High 13. Points Of Authority 14. Numb 15. The Radiance (piano transition) 16. Breaking The Habit 17. From The Inside 18. Blackout 19. Crawling 20. Fallout 21. The Catalyst 22. The Messenger 23. The Little Things Give You Away
  23. I'm not too smart with this "trader" concept, but I get the general idea. I feel as if this concert should be released. The owner of the tape should release it. There are once-in-a-lifetime memories in that concert, unique moments, and an overall good show. I find it embarrassing that somebody has to hold on to it because of it's rarity. It's not like a 1 of 5 collector's edition statue or something. It's a concert. People waste their time being snobby and selfish. No, don't just release one song from the show. Release the whole thing. Memories were made, and it would be great to have people relive them. I know if I went to a concert and someone filmed it, I would love to watch it again. ESPECIALLY if I was on stage. "oh but man you don't understand the idea, this concert is so rare and the owner wants to keep it because--" for what? So he can have a smirk on his face knowing he has footage that nobody else owns? That's selfish. I guess holding on to something forever is the right thing to do these days. If nobody else is going to watch it, there is no point in even holding it. I'm suprised he didn't put a $100,000 price tag on it. I'm done here.
