  1. Mike just blogged that it would be rewarding and that we need to SEARCH harder. (Implying we need a search engine...!) http://mikeshinoda.com/2010/06/24/not-yet/
  2. Psh, I certainly hope so.
  3. Same here! I wonder if Mike reads all of the forum stuff or just the Newswire on the front page? Either way, maybe he knows now how crazy the fans are getting over the lack of any solid info this past couple of days...
  4. You beat me to it. This is very interesting news, imo. Very interesting indeed...
  5. I'm so glad the RSS feed works again. And the site looks really great. Thanks to everyone who made this possible!
  6. Same here. Let's hope they don't name it after one of the songs in the track list, either.
  7. HE JUST TWEETED A LINK! http://mikeshinoda.com/2010/06/15/linkin-park-news-message/ Edit: It's a link to some kind of animation...I have no idea what it's supposed to be.
  8. Mike just tweeted on Twitter. Which means he's online...
  9. That's most likely a big load of crap. People said the same thing a few years ago when Mike went off and did his side project "Fort Minor." People just blow things out of proportion, sometimes without realizing it.
  10. "What is your favorite Linkin Park live moment and why? From 2000 to now, whether it's a show you've been to or not, what is your favorite moment of the band's live history?" My favorite moment has to be my first live show, of course. It was in St. Paul, Minnesota for their Minutes to Midnight tour in 2008. It was the first time I had been to any concert, let alone a Linkin Park concert. I went with my cousin and dad (who also likes Linkin Park!) and we had seats close to the stage. The What I've Done intro was unlike anything I could have expected, and the rest of the show blew me away as well. The whole stadium sang along with Mike and Chester to all of their songs, and the feeling and atmosphere was very intense. I'll never forget it, and I can only look forward to many more shows by Linkin Park!
  11. Don't forget $00.00 to SUPPORT the band's music.
  12. Okay, how about this? What if the disaster in Haiti hadn't happened? Do you think we would have EVER heard "Not Alone?" Very unlikely. They said in one of their videos that the demo of "Not Alone" was unfinished and that they basically didn't even like it. Only when the disaster happened and they started Download to Donate did they decide to dig up that demo and rework it for Haiti. The same probably applies to "Blackbirds." It was recorded to an extent and they also recorded strings for it, but they dropped it from the album. Then when they started working on the game probably a year later, they wanted to put an exclusive song at the end. So they got yet another of their old demos from the MTM recording sessions and recorded it anew for the game. Therefore, Mike wasn't really lying. He said they finished it for the game. No one expects them to make a brand new song just for their game...and when you think about it, if they didn't use a demo that was already worked on, then they would have had to write and record a song entirely from scratch, which would have delayed the album MORE. None of us want that, of course.
  13. Maybe he doesn't answer because he's not obligated to, he's a band member and not PR. If he feels like talking about the album then that's what he does; if he feels like shooting the shit with some LPU members and fans instead, then that's what he'll do. He works hard on the album, do you think he wants to go on LPU chat and hear questions about his work all the time?
  14. The website is great, Adam. Still messing around on the site to see all of its new features. :]
  15. So basically, if I wanted to sell some art or make a movie and charge people to see it, I'm a sellout? These things cost money to make, you know. Regardless of wanting to share it with the public, albums and tours cost too much money to make it freely available to everyone.Trent Reznor did a good thing by releasing his music for free and accepting donations for it, it was a radical move for the music industry and all...but he kind of has a lot of money now. Like, A LOT. How many albums has he made while attached to various record labels? He has the money to fund his own music, because it's not easy to do for free. Does that make him a sellout? To me, hell no. But by your definition, he is. Sellout: An action in which principles are compromised for financial gain. Linkin Park still has their principles. That's why we're not expecting Hybrid Theory Part IV. They care about their music.
  16. If I had a better quality version of the 2001 live version, then I would probably prefer it over the 2009 studio one. But since that's not the case...I have to give my vote to the Dead by Sunrise version.
  17. I didn't think Coheed & Cambria were that bad when they opened for LP in 2008, and Chiodos was ok, too. I think it's cool that LP are playing shows with supporting acts that aren't exactly from the same genre of rock, it makes the shows more interesting and you get exposed to different music that way.
  18. I remember hearing this song, it was awesome. I really hope we can get the original, but I doubt we will soon.
  19. Happy birthday Astat! Love your YouTube vids, too
  20. Nah, they just can't have videos there containing any audio of their songs. Although Shadow of the Day is in that video, isn't it?
  21. I love Mike's blog, too
  22. Awesome! Will any of these KROQ shows be available for download? Just asking
