  1. The Black Album came out in like...2004
  2. I understand, but Blackbirds was a rejected song. We prolly shouldn't have had huge expectations lol
  3. Blackbirds was a rejected song put into a video game
  4. since that won't happen, but it would still be awesome, wouldn't just be dope if it had low quality versions of a couple songs like the Meteora player did?
  5. I don't know how people come to the conclusion that Mike has all these ulterior motives to fool people. And the official review said that they were informed by someone that there were 6 other songs that were more guitar driven. That means that 1. that's just what somebody told them 2. They didn't say "hard rock", fans just took "guitar driven" and assumed thats what it meant and 3. Mike said that it's more plausible that they'd have 10 songs. LP's albums are as long as they are because they want to make sure that there's no way you'll get bored. edit: but since someone DID tell them that there were 6 others, I wouldn't be surprised. Mike does lie.
  6. I say because it doesn't have vocals. I would take Session over almost any track on Meteora.
  7. ragga is a sub-genre of reggae. It makes sense and I really doubt there will be six big rock songs and 6 six prog/electro songs. It says guitar driven...it could be acoustic, it could be like the Monster ringtone "Bradyo", but it wouldn't make sense for LP to do so much experimenting and end up with "rock" songs. It makes the album sound like bullshit if half of it is "genre-busting" and the other half is something a million rock bands have done before....
  8. I FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY! I went from #4 to #42 and nobody has any idea of how many remixes they'll be listening to. I can't compete with the support your regular LP remixers have, and most of the people that know my music are underground hip-hop heads....which isn't LP. It's frustrating... I almost feel like cheating since it really doesn't mean that I'll win anyway.
  9. I've never heard this...especially since Numb is on the same album. I think the chorus is lame as fuck, but the rest of the lyrics are completely awesome and I'm going with In Between
  10. Doesn't sound like a 14yr old kid with a limited vocabulary wrote it...it sounds like a 16yr old that can write an understandable/semi-emotional song without sounding like a D average student with self-esteem issues wrote it....like half the album.
  11. You didn't get what he said. He said that LP has the ability to play whatever they want. Not every band has that ability..but LP have a business mind, it doesn't bring business if you aren't performing the most popular songs. You want to get not-so-hardcore fans to enjoy your shows, sing along and have a good time
  12. I'd put HTF, NL, DS, and F.09. I think Numb gets hate because people associate it with Emo despite it being a well-written/performed song, unlike half the album
  13. Oh my bad...I didn't know it was elimination lol. No matter Hit The Floor is eliminated. I put Numb, I like Numb, it's their best "let's copy Hybrid Theory" song on the album. For the others....uh...I can't choose between Don't Stay or Nobody's Listening. They tie in horridness IMO
  14. Numb! I hate Hit the Floor! If I died and heard that song I would immediately know that I'm in Hell
  15. THIS. Iono how the hell it made the album, and it DOES suck live. I'm with Chester. Fuck that song lol
  16. I'm promoting mine again because I'm a dork And I agree, Adam needs to be at a higher rank! Even though this is a competition, I'm especially down with supporting people with a lower ranking than I have. If it's good, vote for it! http://www.indabamusic.com/submissions/show/22090
  17. Mike has said that they play singles for the casual fans. They also knock off the unpopular songs..and Chester hates/probably can't perform "Hit the Floor"
  18. rock on! I totally appreciate your post! And I share your opinion on both mine and Alex's entry. Mine is a little more mainstream. Alex's sounds mainstream sans the pitch-shift. But I wish at least the majority of Alex's had that WOW feeling. I got that feeling too until it started falling off. I wish I had a more "different" feel. I'm relying on the professionalism/ "this doesn't sound like Linkin Park/nu-metal/hip-hop". No prob!
  19. No, he knew he wouldn't win. Seriously, as a musician understand another musician, he was complaining that some of the key/timing is off. That is true. He was being a dick, but being a musician I also did wonder how Alex could get so far with the noticeable flaws... I personally would want the person with the best remix to win. That's what it's about. And that's whats gonna happen (according to LP's standards). I pray to Joe Pesci I win though! I don't think I'm getting listened to as much as others though
  20. Dude, he meant in timed in rhythm. Some parts are off. We all have no clue of how the song will sound but I'm pretty sure that LPs rhythm timing is better
  21. I like your attitude! And I hope this gains you plenty of fans. I don't know if you are an aspiring artist, but if you are, I'd like to think this contest will help you alot!
  22. I admit, I do agree with Dangersilent as far as that yes, some of Alex's mix clashes. I personally don't think he will win, and being a musician I'm like "How do people not hear the flaws in this mix?????". With that said, I wouldn't have posted something like that. In all honesty, I don't think any of the most popular ones sit well from a professional standpoint, which makes me wonder how many remixes will the band listen to. I'm fighting just to be listened to now, and I've actually done professional work, so it's a tad frustrating. No matter, I like that LP pick the winner, because I guarantee you that they won't pick anything that their fansites are fawning over. There will be plenty of disappointment, but Mike did say that they were looking for something "different". "The weirder, the better" "We already have a guitarist" and he said something like "Joe and I can make weird sounds"... and the one Mike said he really liked was damn creative and borderline weird, but where is it??? I'm not here to diss or put anything down per se, but when I was 18 and had a chance to mingle with other teenage musicians, we were considered awesome and few people considered us over-rated. We grew up and realized we were pretty over-rated...not saying that we (or Alex) were/aren't talented, because the talent is obviously there, but it isn't THERE where you would put it in Linkin Park's face and they wouldn't hear which key is off and where the timing falls. Real talk
  23. I would just like to inform people that if you vote for Rocky Palos' remix submission you will help save abandoned puppies, starving children in poor countries, and you will create new jobs in the North American economy. Because Rocky wants change, and that change is to not focus on nu-metal, not to focus on the remixes you feel you can rock out to, but focus on....uh....mine, I guess. http://www.indabamusic.com/submissions/show/22090 I tried *shrugs*
  24. maybe because I've been remixing for almost a decade I am bias, but I think people should pay more attention to entries like these instead of whatever has power chords/almost resembles old LP. The remix that Mike really liked is NOWHERE near is popular. The stuff that Mike really was looking forward to hearing is kinda...not there or being outshined
