  1. LPU has released some great demos over the years. Imagine if we hadn't gotten Across The Line or Primo. Two fantastic examples and I love stuff like Cumulus, Basquiat, Pretty Birdy, etc. If we can get this other stuff via another means, people would complain the LPU isn't releasing stuff "deep in the vault" that fans can't access.

Just need Pictureboard to leak, though.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Urban-Networks-Rapology-9-by-Various-Promo-Only-Double-CD-Set-Compilation-/161715821846?hash=item25a7039d16:g:Af8AAMXQrNtR1abB

So It's not volume 12 but it is volume 9. The reason I'm posting this is because maybe the seller knows information on how to obtain the other volumes. Maybe we could reach out to the seller and see what he says?

EDIT: I don't have an ebay account so it would have to be someone else.

EDIT 2: This seller is selling Rapology 13-16, maybe he knows more information?

    https://www.discogs.com/artist/677427-Stu-Jacobs?page=1

Edit 3: This website currently has volumes 1-3. http://www.musicstack.com/show.cgi?search_type=artist&find=rapology&find_focus=0&x=7&y=12&cur=USD

Edit 4: That's all I could find with a quick google search that brought up 9 pages of results

  2. If only the band could actually release some kind of compilation of rare & unreleased songs, THAT would be very appreciated by the hardcore fanbase, I don't get why they don't do that. I love the rawness and Mike's early flow here.

Look up "Songs From the Underground"

It would be cool if they did it again though, I'll agree with that.

  3. I am not mad about the approach, but I don't get why they needed to hire/collab with some other songwriters, especially when they hire songwriters who work with Britney, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, no offence to Justin Tranter etc. but if I look lyrically at the song, I really don't expect them to have collaborate with a 3rd party for it.

But I can't say I hate it, and I actually dig it very much after a few listens

I think they just wanted to try something new :)

This whole album feels like them trying new things and working with outside writers was something new

  4. Over 1,000,000 views on YouTube ASAP. Song is about to explode.

I will say that I hope LP doesn't use this songwriting approach again for music. The lyrics are substandard for them, and apparently don't come out even 1% better than if they had done them last. I mean I know Burn It Down, etc had really pathetic lyrics. However, the music is what truly suffers in this approach by being done last.

I went back to the video earlier to share it on facebook and saw that it had 777,000 views. I knew it would hit over 1 million in a day. This could finally be another big hit for Linkin Park! Wouldn't be surprised if it got big on pop radio stations. It's short, is all vocals, and has a super catchy chorus. Everything you need for a radio hit.

I didn't read through this thread and I'm guessing a lot of people on here didn't like it as I expect the same hate that it got on LPA but I for one love the track and I'm excited to see how big it gets!

  5. Not sure how many of you actually like it or ale blinded fanboys who will like anything they put out.

Sorry, it's crappy. I don't even walk to talk more about it, If the rest of the album sounds similarly, I hope they will only play a track or two (or maybe none) on the following tour.

If not, I might as well just pass the Cracow gig and pick next SOAD show.

Logged in just to say lol to this comment.

Not everyone who likes this song, blindy likes everything they put out. I hate The Hunting Party as a full album but I love this song.

In fact, I think it is one of their best songs to date :)

  6. Though it doesn't say that this is the song with Kiiara... So it must be a different one. Is it possible that we can hear 2 new songs in February? And where is the 3rd clip from linkinpark.com? This time yesterday the 2nd was already available to watch if I'm not mistaken...

Second single will probably feature Kiiara

Has it ever happened where 2 music videos for an album were shot so quickly after the other?

Seems really odd to me that they would film a 2nd video for another song before even releasing the promo single. Very confusing.

Pretty sure in general this happens with a lot of artists often

Could have been done maybe wen that dude did drone footage that was a lp vid for first single n there about to film one for song with kiiara

This. When the news of Kiiara came out I'm was positive that she had nothing to do with the drone video

I think the video with the drone will be the first video and the second video will be the one with Kiiara

  7. If Linkin Park made an album full of features that would be lit
    1. Only Hope ft. Kiiara
    2. Follow the Light ft. Lauren Mayberry
    3. Heavy Hearts ft. Blackbear
    4. Trainwreck ft. Taylor Swift
    5. A Cure For the Itch Pt. 2
    6. My Direction
    7. No Sleep ft. Run the Jewels
    8. Moving On ft. Tim McIlrath
    9. Living In the Past ft. Andy Bone
    10. All Alone
  8. I think an upbeat pop record would sound great but I think a chill vibe could work good as well.

I will say don't judge things based on genre. I thought THP was going to be their best work to date because of genre alone and it's my least favorite LP album to date that I also haven't listened to in full since 2014 since the first half of the album is 100% forgettable and some of the worst music they have ever made in my opinion. But I thought it would be the greatest album they have done and best album of 2014 simply because of the fact that it would be the heaviest LP album to date. Now it was proven to be the heaviest LP album to date but it also proved me wrong about being amazing. Genre means very little in the scheme of things. If a song is good, it's good regardless of what genre it is. If an album is good, an album is good regardless of what genre it is.

As someone who listens to all major genres on a regular basis except Classical, I feel like i've seen too many people limit themselves because they have a misconception that everything in a genre is bad and they refuse to actually dive into that genre. On the flip side, I've seen people who hate a genre but find an artist in that genre that actually like. On a different website I post on, I've seen it happen with multiple posters who won't listen to anything outside of rap. On the same website, I know posters who hate country but have collectively taken a liking to both Thomas Rhett and Sam Hunt who are both up and coming country stars.

I ask and highly suggest everyone here to not limit themselves because of a word or a genre.

  9. So i listened to Feels first because LPA said it is more digestible, I didn't like it.

But then I listened to Gold and it's actually pretty good! Excited for whatever this song turns out to be :D

This thread is the first time i've ever heard of Kiiara.

It's funny, her tour with the chainsmokers got announced literally one day before this information came out.

I saw the post by LPL on facebook and was like, I literally just saw that name somewhere yesterday, and I double checked and was right. Crazy how things work haha

It's funny how I've seen the same haters saying they're done with LP every time they've released anything since QWERTY over a decade ago...yet the same people are still around.

With that said, Gold is literally the second-most annoying song I can think of that I've heard on the radio in the last few years. I could probably walk around Los Angeles for 5 minutes on a weekend evening and bump into a female "alt pop" singer I'd rather hear on an LP collaboration than Kiiara.

I'm starting to get a sense that this album is going to kind of come from the same place as the idea of collaborating with all those Warped Tour bands a couple years back - working with younger artists who cite LP as influences, except this time they're exploring the poppier side of their influence instead of rock bands. It's a great idea in theory, very well-intentioned and whatnot...the only problem is, as far as I've been able to tell, the majority of artists coming up these days who cite LP as an influence either sound incredibly derivative or just make plain terrible music.

Also, it's increasingly seeming like nearly every song on this record is going to be a collaboration of some sort, which begs the question of how they're going to play any of this stuff live, even more so than with the collaborations on The Hunting Party.

Honestly I've always thought more rock bands need to venture into having features on albums. I'd be all down for an LP album full of features but it could easily end at either extremes: very, very good or very mediocre.

But I have faith in this album

dude I want a metalcore/post-hardcore/experimental rock based album by LP so bad

    That would turn out awful

I think it partially comes down to the fact that I hate female vocalists in general. I prefer male vocalists 100%.

This is something I can relate too but only to a degree

When it comes to rock music, there are very few female rock singers I enjoy to listen to. There is not a single female rapper I like and when it comes to country I like a lot of the less mainstream female females.

However, when it comes to pop music I think females are better. Some of my favorite voices of all time come from Pop female singers. Lauren Mayberry, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Kina Grannis and Avril Lavigne would all be in my top 20 voices all time. Plus I could go on and on about all the other loads of wonderful pop singers like Lana Del Rey, Halsey, Melanie Martinez, Rihanna, P!nk, Michelle Branch, ect, ect.

So I'm glad that Linkin Park at least chose a pop singer in this case.

Except for rap, I'm the exact opposite. I usually don't want to hear guys sing.

Can you name me some good female rappers to check out?

Never have been impressed by a female rapper

Don't get me wrong, I love LP and they're still my favorite band, but I wish they would stop the bullshit of teasing everything they freaking do. If you have a song to share, just freaking post it. If you know the album release date/title, share it. I hate that they basically announce that they will make an announcement. They're a big act, no need to create hype for everything. /rant

People are so impatient these days

Just leave the internet and pretend like there is no teasing. Come back in 8 days after the teasers or done or come back in 10 days in conjunction with the rumored song date.

I found the Red Hot Chili Pepper symbol in the source code

    2016_0611_10286_4052.png

Those are the wrong colors for their logo.

Their logo is also very basic and this could literally be anything

Will say it again: the piano melody is extremely similar to ''Video Games'' by Lana del Rey.

As someone else said I think it sounds like "Goner" by Twenty One Pilots

  10. I'm excited! Although Kiiara is "mainstream", she's a talented musician with a talented voice. Linkin Park will never make another Hybrid Theory or Meteora, that's just the way bands progress. I'm glad they're doing what inspires them, that renders the best music. Let's keep it positive guys, LP knows what they're doing. :)

She's mainstream? I had never heard of her until the Chainsmokers tour was announced

  11. I just had another thought... what about Sum 41? They just had a new album come out in October 2016 and as far as I know, LP has never played a show with Sum 41 before, let alone toured with them. Frank Zummo of Street Drum Corps/Julien-K is also their drummer, and Chester is friends with him. Their frontman also had some issues with alcohol, similar to Chester in the past, I think they could respect one another. I think it could be a possibility. And I really like Sum 41, I think they're a good band, I think a lot of LP fans would be receptive to it. LP and Sum 41 co-headliner?

Sum 41 would definitely open for Linkin Park not co-headline. I can't comment on what venues they were playing in their prime but these days they are playing venue like 4x smaller than Linkin Park
  12.

No, both are huge bands, but LP is bigger than Blink. It's not a situation like Muse or Metallica, which are bigger than LP. Although, California has done very well and is nominated for the band's first ever Grammy. 2017 will probably be a huge year for Blink. It might be a co-headlining tour if Blink is the support act, though, like Incubus and Thirty Seconds To Mars were. And Blink and LP are friends, so I don't see Blink having an issue with co-headlining with LP at all. LP also doesn't mind doing co-headlining tours because Chester has said a bunch of times that he doesn't care about that stuff, they just want to play, and they did it again with Carnivores after Incubus anyways.

But yeah, I wouldn't mind twenty one pilots at all, even though I'm not in love with them. They do seem a bit too big right now to open or even co-headline with LP, but you never know. I think that Tyler and Josh are both fans of LP and 2017 will likely be the end of touring for Blurryface, so we might see it. And we all know Chester loves the band, not to mention the sound of the new LP album might be similar in a way to twenty one pilots as well.

Was Linkin Park and 30 Seconds to Mars actually a co-headliner? I never thought of it that way. Especially since LP played 30 minutes longer than 30STM. I look to the Honda Civic Tour because every year that tour is a co-headlining tour. I was unaware Linkin Park didn't mind co-headliners I just figured they would want to play as much time as they can and always play last but I guess you can still do that on a co-headliner.

Twenty One Pilots has gotten big but I definitely feel like they are still smaller than Linkin Park even in the US. I think they could get even bigger touring with LP and I think they would jump on that opportunity if LP asks.

  13. Does no one else think Blink-182 is too big to open up for Linkin Park?

I understand at festivals they are opening for Linkin Park but on a full blown tour Blink-182 would NEVER be an opening act. Unless it was a co-headlining tour like Incubus/LP was. But I'm not sure LP would want to do another co-headlining tour.

I would be down for Twenty One Pilots or Chevelle.

  14. I might watch this later tonight.

I went to college in Arizona and could have gone to show but I did not know they were this festival back then, I later saw the zombie pictures and was wondering why I had never heard of this show.

Being a festival I probably would have deemed it too expensive anyway but this "venue" (really an outdoor park) was 25 minutes away from my college. I saw them at the stadium show in 2014 though and while the overall concert could have been better, to date LP's set is still a top 3 set I have ever seen. I watched 'Papercut' from the youtube video posted above and it sounds like I might not have missed much though.

  15. I have a question. Tickets are going to be sold since December 19th. I have some personal issues and I can buy them after the 28th. Do you guys think that there are still going to be tickets available? Sorry for my ignorance.

Seriously, believe it or not I need a response right now.

Never heard of this festival until this year so I wouldn't be able to tell you

  16. Wait, did I read this correctly? They have Rise Against as their Special Guest?? Thats weird..

    Why is that weird?

They "went on tour" together in the US.

If anything I'd be surprised that Rise Against would want to play with LP again after what happened, but that means Rise Against is understanding of the situation.

As they are both two of my top 5 favorite bands of all time, I would argue they definitely fit together musically and share a lot of common fans.

  17. I'm curious how many tracks are gonna end up on the album. They've said multiple times that they've got a lot of material.

Also, they still don't know the release date?

    I'm guessing 12 songs is a good bet :D

From my understanding of how albums work, having more than twelve full songs would require more than two sides of a vinyl to cover. Going beyond that you'd need more material to satisfy at least one side of a second vinyl, and then having an empty side is just impractical and frankly a waste of money.

Perhaps that principle has changed, and I'm sure someone can explain it better than me, but that's how I have come to understand it.

Whether this is true or not, this shouldn't matter in my opinion. It should all be about the album 100%. They can worry about other logistics later or maybe not even release a vinyl

RHCP nailed it with Stadium Arcadium, one of the best double albums of all time.

Yep, there have been many classic double albums released.

    Tommy by The Who

    The Wall by Pink Floyd

Exile on Main Street by The Rolling Stones

The Mother, The Path, The Mechanic by The Early November (Triple album)

    Streets Disciple by Nas

  18. Glastonbury sells out in advance like this way before the lineup is announced. You can always sell your ticket later depending on how popular the festival is. Many festivals offer presales before the lineup is announced for a cheaper price, which is cool.

Hellfest is totally sold out. LP isn't even offering day passes for the LPU, like they have done before. I guess you're on your own for this one, ha.

Yeah, I understand you can sell your ticket but still. That concept has always seemed weird to me.

No wonder all the facebook comments were complaining about the lineups, if they already bought their ticket. I'd be heavily disappointed by that lineup too.
