They did a good performance. and i take back the effects on mike during the let me go part. I don't know what people want lol. I can't wait to see chesters performance of the Messenger.

no, trust me i know. Like the beginning. but in some parts, where there weren't "notable effects" on chesters voice on the album, were noticeable during this performance.

To say he was terrible is nonsense lol. Compare this performance to chester's worst ones. and it wouldn't be close.

You have to take it into context. They are barely starting to perform again, and this is on a major stage where they will be MAJORLY criticized. From personal exp. you will always be nervous performing unless you're exception. It was good and they will fine tune it and make it better. Now, listening it again. Chester did NOT sound horrendous. They had some vocal assistance for sure tho. Mike did when he sang his "solo". but guess what... they are performers. They shouldn't be slighted cause they want to sound good.

LOL!. Chester did not sound as bad you made him out to be. I loved the edgy roughness of his voice. He was not pitchy as he was on New Divide performance on tv. Mike sounded weird, because guess what. listen to TC on the CD and you will see they use effects on the god bless us every one lol.

They nailed it. WOW i love mikes new and improved voice. They kinda had to chop it up and rush it, but loved it man. chester sounds good too
  7. wow the editing of the meeting of a thousand suns pissed me off
  8. i'm going to stop being a fan because i'm not open to the idea of you guys experimenting with different genres. He can go ahead and hate ATS, but to stop being a fan is idiotic. And if he wants to storm off for LP not making a record he wanted them to make then yeah, good riddance
  9. the beatles kind of pop then yeah but current modernized meaning of pop, hell no. and the cd was well guarded. it leaked only a week before the cd was released? thats really good actually.
  10. i really can't wait to hear demos from this album/ bsides.
  11. if you're truly that close minded, then good riddance.
  12. Beautifully said Astat. Finally a review that actually talks about the music IN DEPTH and musically and sonically why you felt it was good. You've said everything i felt about it. At first i thought Brad wasn't playing the acoustic for the messenger as it was just a simple song that i know chester could do, but i was pleasantly surprised. I would like to see a complicated finger picking song on the acoustic by brad and mike on rhythm haha. but chester has mad vocals THROUGHOUT the album. That note he hit in New Divide *i think a high B right?* doesn't compare to what he does in various songs. and does anyone else feel like in idk which song, but when chester sings the slow part *i think in the reggae type song* he sounds like a beatles song?
  13. Personally, i think its a perfect opportunity for LP to play some not so typical songs... because i think it flows more with the new stuff personally. like carousal or and one would be sick, and i know they will never play it again pretty much but hell i can hope. I think Irid. is going to be the best song live... thats if chester can hit the vocals. Chester really put his voice to a test on this record.
  14. The guy can dislike it for legitimate reasons... i would respect his opinion if he knew ANYTHING about music and music theory. But to to compare mike's rapping skills to Vanilla ice.. .and just to compare them because they are racially different that the majority of rappers is just plain ignorant. and he loses all credibility. The guy clearly hated lp before doing the write up. the guy is clearly biased to just pink floyd and such music. Eff all reviewers. because in the end of the day, Music is beautiful. and it can please one set of ears while it can do the opposite for others. and i can see what they tried to do on this album and i appreciate it. these songs are good/great songs. and eff haters like him.
  15. Does anyone else fall in love with Robot Boy when chester comes screaming in high pitched?
  16. This definitely sounds like a Mike Production though. For what the album is and what sound its trying to go for, i'd give it a 8.8-9/10 rating. I would like to see a song where phoenix is actually playing an intricate bass line and brad actually playing lead guitar besides using octaves.
  17. what are the flaws? that there isn't any guitar visible? i don't worship lp and i don't eat w'e they throw at me. for example.. across the line is highly over rated on this board along with no roads left. LP standards? the whole point of the album were to break those standards and broadened it, you obviously missed the memo.
  18. actually, i don't care if you dislike it ot not But to say its generic and mediocre is nonsense.
  19. its the truth because you say it? I think the album kicks ass. its the truth to me. And with Lp fans, it tends to be so that people are a hater. Because nothing that the band does is good enough for people like you. If the music is so terrible and not likeable as you describe it. Please tell us. What should they have done to improve it
  20. well the songs aren't generic. just because it is mellow and sounds poppy to you doesn't take away from this masterpiece. People fail to realize. Lp is not a generic plain out rock band with a dj that just makes beats on the side and scratches here and there. The problem you have and the other haters. You already have a pretty picture for what this album should've sounded like, and since they didn't paint the picture you had in mind, you describe it "mellow, and radio friendly".
  21. I don't really like all the Drum Machine stuff, i can tell that is going to get old after awhile. THis is totally Mikes production
  22. The sample didn't do anything for me, but i know the full songs i will be able to digest and love
  23. with new/different music. brings in new/different fans. thats just the reality of the situation. And LP knows this. And i don't think they mind it. Its not like they are alienating their fans... because simply put.. they aren't alienating themselves by creating music that they frankly don't give a sh!t about. Go listen to Puddle of Mud or Korn and tell me how much they have evolved and how different their fan base has become over the years.
  24. how can i cancel my preorder?
  25. lol... because it isn't metal?
