  1. The Justice Department will be investigating this before it can be official, so it may not happen. (CNN) -- The Justice Department has launched an investigation into a proposed merger between Ticketmaster and Live Nation, which two lawmakers said would create a "near monopoly" in concert ticketing. The announcement came as Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York, and Rep. Bill Pascrell, D-New Jersey, sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder warning that the deal would "consolidate ticket selling, concert promoting, and concert venue ownership under one massive entity." "The Antitrust Division is committed to vigorous enforcement of the merger antitrust laws and will conduct a thorough investigation of the proposed Ticketmaster/Live Nation transaction," Justice Department spokeswoman Gina Talamona said. Rep. Pascrell, who last week called for a federal probe of Ticketmaster's practices, said "the deal could put concert-goers nationwide at risk of permanently increased ticket prices and should not gain regulatory approval." Ticketmaster, long a target of fan and artist criticism, drew singer Bruce Springsteen's ire last week when it routed some of his fans trying to buy tickets to his show in New Jersey to a "secondary site" where they were charged far more than face value. Tickets on that site -- which Ticketmaster owns -- cost between $200 and $5,000, while face value starts at $54. Pascrell, who said angry music fans deluged him with calls, sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission chairman asking that the FTC look into Ticketmaster's practices. Live Nation Inc. and Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc. announced plans to merge Tuesday, combining the nation's biggest concert promoter with the largest seller of tickets for live entertainment. The new company, which will be called Live Nation Entertainment, will have an enterprise value of about $2.5 billion, the companies said in joint press releases. 2. I think LP will do the festival dates, maybe being added on to a few more of the dates, DBS will be released in September, Chester will tour for 6 weeks or so, they will release the new LP album sometime during that tour, and then LP will do an indoor Projekt Revolution, starting in like November or so.
  3. At the very beginning of the chat the other day, Chester said he was in the studio, and I don't think he specified what he was working on, if it was LP or DBS. Anyway, it doesn't anything that neither he or Joe aren't in the pictures yet.
  4. Hmmm. *Whistles innocently* Seriously though, no more flaming in this thread please. Mark and the rest of us work hard to bring you what we believe to be legitimate news, and as I previously stated, Sodahead was previously one of those sources that we thought was dependable.
  5. I didn't get to those, but I know that all the videos I had from rock am ring 04 in my favorites are gone, even though I don't think they have taken down all of them yet. It just depends on the channel you found them on, I guess.
  6. The few I checked are still working, they haven't all been removed in one fell swoop, its little bits here and there.
  7. It was posted because until this point Sodahead had been a reliable source for Linkin Park related touring information. Your post was deleted for flaming the staff.
  8. Then of course we have this idiot: http://www.youtube.com/wmg He's pretending he's Warner Music Group and filing copyright claims against lots and lots of youtube channels, Astat's included. Look at some of the comments that have been left on his channel, its worth a laugh or two. Oh, and speaking of Metallica, http://www.youtube.com/user/metallicatv?blend=1 Maybe LP needs to take all their videos and host them on LP.com....
  9. There's different rules that non profits are governed by, as they aren't making any money off the use of the audio track. Music for Relief is a registered 501©3 charity. Plus I am sure Warner isn't complaining, they are made to look good by allowing LP to use the song in support of a charitable cause.

<3 for my stars. thank you.

  12. A graphic novel to go along with the album maybe? I think that would be kind of cool.
  13. One... Hundred... BILLION DOLLARS! roflmao
  14. I would be willing to pay lots of money for that though.
  15. Either that or pry the cd from my cold dead fingers. =P
  16. Well, when hell officially freezes over, and you can verify that for me, its all yours Nick. hehehehe
  17. pffft. If its fake, then why do you want it? HMMM? Merry Christmas! LOL
  18. I am just wondering who else collects LP items? I only have a few things, so far, a tour poster from a 2003 show in Japan, and this: I also owe a big thank you to Nick for verifying the authenticity of the above item before I paid for it. (And for not stealing it out from underneath me by bidding on it!)
  19. Kicks the two people who posted it online already. I really like it, hope it is an indication of what the next album will be like.
  20. I would have to say the first time I saw LP, at Summer Sanitarium 2003, the San Francisco, CA show. I honestly wasn't that into Linkin Park before that show. I thought they were good, but I wasn't there to see them. They won me over completely, because of two things, the crowd interaction, and that they said that women had as much right as men to be in the pit and not get groped. I have been to a lot of shows, and not one band before that or since has ever said that. It really made me appreciate and respect them.
  21. I listened to the dsp for this again today, and finally heard you chanting. I have to agree meeting Chris Cornell was great.
  22. I just heard 26 Lettaz, and I think its funny. I feel awful that Mike felt the need to have to apologize to the LPU.
