  1. I've got a feeling he spit some of the demo lines from previous versions of the song. Sometimes the original lyrics you've written never leave your head.
  2. I'm definitely not underestimating him. More so questioning his consistency. Theres times he would pull off the In Pieces solo pretty well live, and then theres times it sounds awful like this gem. Not only that, but hes also been struggling with GATS solo which is relatively easy. But like I said, he can prove me wrong.
  3. I was really hoping Rebellion wasn't going to be added to the set. I have this funny feeling about it being played live. Don't get me wrong, I love that track, but with the song in drop C and a guitar part that Brad didnt record, I don't think it will be played live very well and it will ruin the song for me. Same thing happened with In Pieces. I can't listen to the song live as Brad butchers the solo every time. But hey, they can prove me wrong.
  4. If I'm reading it correctly, Its only about $7.50 for orders under $50 to Australia which is pretty cheap actually. TBH, when I read that quote, I assumed it was a US only shipped but it looks as tho the site ships worldwide.
  5. So what you're saying is you don't want us Aussie's repping the merch huh I'm still after that simple LPLive design one which was originally the red staff shirt back in the day.
  6. I do miss the old itunes LPTV episodes that were like 10mins long.
  7. I really like the idea for the cover. That whole 'work in progress' is really fitting.
  8. Instrumentals & Acapellas are good. Multitracks are better
  9. People read into this illuminati stuff too much IMO. People can't like the shape a triangle without being accused of something illuminati related these days.
  10. I'm not going to lie, this is an amazing video. I think this has become my fav already.
  11. Ugh, "Sorry, this video is unavaliable from your location" Story of my life. Any work arounds?
  12. Those frame captures are giving me high expetations for this vid...
  13. Lights and everything can be covered in this thread, but the main focus is more so the instruments etc that LP use to make the music. Lights, concert speakers, staging, video screens etc comes under the production/backline department. The band would have a say in what they get but they wouldnt care as much as what guitar they're using on what song. You kinda lost me there at the end with the end of that post. But I do agree that lighting in the day is really hard to pull off. Arenas, night spots on festivals is where your going to have a better performance with the backing of viusal awesomeness. LP do still do spot lights like 2004, just differently. 2004 Projekt rev mainly used long distance follow spots where you could see their shadow in the background on a set for example. These days those spotlights are on a truss line above the band. Most times before the show, you'll see about 4 guys climb up to the truss line above stage and sit in what looks like a car seat. They sit there for the entire show and operate the spotlights down on an angle so you get less shadows on sets/video screens. Ive been one of those spotlight operators before, not the best of jobs and SUCKS if you need to go toilet really bad mid show.
  14. Mikes rig as per instagram post. Keyboard: Nord Stage 2. Interesting thing is its lacking a lot of the traditional Nord red colouring. Ive seen full black with no red versions of this keyboard but nothing like this. It might be a custom one or someones gotten fancy and pain/matte gaffed this (not the first time either of these things have happened to some of their gear am I right Astat...) Two iPads running what looks like the Lemur app but I maybe wrong. Post iPad 3s as the white lightning bolt to 30pin connector is a giveaway. 4 Pintech pads, 2 either side. Maschine Mk2 Not sure if that's the touchscreen thing Mike/Joe have been promoting but its definitely showing the Ableton Live 9 session viewer in which as reported, is running everything for them these days. Its a powerful tool once you know how to use it (I've been experimenting with it alot lately, so much fun). No idea what that is on the upper right of his keyboard tho. Its the only thing I cant put a name too. Ideas?
  15. If its anything more then the Mall soundtrack, I will lose my shit. But I have my doubts it is.
  16. Full film is out BTW http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDZcz-V29_M
  17. I am looking forward to this. Being in the music business myself, there's nothing worse then clients coming in with shitty compressed youtube audio ripped Mp3 and wonder why it sounds so shit through my Couple thousand dollar line array speaker system. Its a struggle I deal with everyday. Is this another one of Mike's projects? Its got a very Linkin Park-esk vibe to the video. It as a heavy amount of LP footage and that music at the start sounds very familiar. And fun fact for everyone playing at home, that show of the audience right at 8 or 9 seconds is the Sydney Soundwave gig. That's definitely ANZ stadium where the main stage was located.
  18. Mixing in a studio is completely different then mixing live. Studio you have hours to spend on songs and even weeks to work out how you want the vocals to sound and sit within the music, come live, its then and there on the spot. 9/10 you dont want to bury your vocals as much as you do in an album.
