  1. Some of LPs 16 second Instagram videos are better then the LPTVs these days. And THAT says something...
  2. Funny, Ive been reading into this a bit lately with the whole 'royalies' of covers etc in a live performance environment. I know its easier to track studio records and pay royalities where needed for record sales but Live is a different story. I got this reply. The only issue with this is LP falls into a special catagoriy because they collabrating on this track so I dont know if because LP own at least half of the rights, if they are required to pay any sort of $$$ to Jay-Z. Sorry if its gone off topic but I thought I'd share my recent research. Ironically, LPs covers of Nine Inch Nails and Adele actually make me look into this topic.
  3. I think this whole thing is pretty redicilous. I was able to pay $50 AUD the other night to see 3 of my favorite bands at my local concert venue. I'd much rather that then having to pay that much for a webcast. I also work for a company that offers Webcasting, streaming and on demand playback for clients. I know how much a professional webcast will cost to execute. The $40 charge is way to accessive for what they are offering IMO. I see nothing but profit to VyRT's pockets.
  4. Yep, including this video that was posted in the FM new album thread here.
  5. The beat actually contains numerous old samples from his previous work. Some had track name in their title, some didn't. Here's the ones with track names. FM Bang RTN (Remember the Name) FM Kick...Somebody (Be somebody) FM hat 2 RTN FM Hat Red to Black FM Hat RTN FM Crash WYG (Where'd you go)
  6. Did anyone else notice a fair amount of the drum elements of this beat was used from Fort Minor samples? Majority of the sample names start with FM along with some containing the song names its from. FM Bang RTN (Remember the Name) FM Kick...Somebody (Be somebody) FM hat 2 RTN FM Hat Red to Black FM Hat RTN FM Crash WYG (Where'd you go)
  7. This, the dance party and the rider are my fav chideos to date. First they started off a little lame with the band just talking to the camera answering questions but now theyre improving and improving.
  8. Just echoing what Soul and Astat said. You'll need to do a bit of research into the verses if you want Mike to work one in. Anything around the 90BPM is good but it also has to match the bars of he instrumental section. I've been meaning to go through and see what fits (and try and put them over the studio remake I did) but havent had the time as of late. I will do it eventually...
  9. Something special will happen for this gig. Nothing major and crazy but I'm sure there will be something special dedicated the the LPU for the show. With that said, same deal as last time summit go-ers. Take thousands of gear pictures and I will forever be your friend! But all in all, enjoy it people attending!
  10. Come on guys. I need some AUS tour rumors asap! Dying down here.
  11. I just want to throw an idea our there I feel works amazingly for opening a set. Lockjaw > Extended claps Given Up. Both 100 BPM and gel together so well off the back of each other.
  12. Anyone get any photos of the gear during the stage walk? Theres been little to no 'activity' from people who attended the summit unlike previous times. Normally theres a thousand of photos circulating by now.
  13. Sorry for being so late to the party for this one. I didn't get to attend any soundchecks like Mikey did. I although did camp outside Newcastle Entertainment Centre from 12pm on show day and heard Blackout, Wretches and POA being rehearsed. Can't confirm if it was by the band or the techs tho.
  14. Cool thanks My understanding is the Surface which sits between his trigger fingers is doing all his scratching and what not. He's switched to Traktor which I believe is a Microsoft Surface friendly program. The iPad on the other hand has just replaced the Lemur. Maybe that's linked up with Ableton as Mike's Maschine would be?!? I know Joe's rig used to be split into two sections. The DJ scratch and then the sample section.
  15. I was thinking about something on the way home from work the otherday. I remember back when ATS came out, it was an experimental album and the band werent sure how these songs were going to pull off live. I even digged up some quotes for you... A Thousand Suns: Source Living Things interview: Source The Hunting Party interview: Source Now have a read of those quotes, you'd think they'd stuggle to pull off ATS and nail LT and THP. But it seems like the opposite. Every song off ATS has been performed in some shape or form. Thats 9 song songs and 6 instrumentals/interludes. LT has had 7 of its songs performed live. That number includes 1 Tinfoil instrumental which opened there set some nights and 1 verse from UIB on the WTFE intro. Same goes with THP with only 5 songs being performed live so far. So all in all, LP's baby being ATS has been easier for them to pull off live (in which they thought they were going to have a hard time with) then their last two which they said was made to be played live. You even total both LT and THP together and ATS has still had more songs performed in some way or another. Meh, I thought i'd just share my random thought.
  16. Like everyone else, I'm enjoying these so much more then the LPTVs. I died at the pink eye pictures. I like where these videos are going.
  17. With that said, in the webcast today Brad is definitely using one of these on stage. So my guess is Ben might use it to control all his swelling in GATS but also takes it on stage for the WFTE solo. Just out of curiosity, what frequency band do these wireless kits run in? I know a lot of older kits run between the 700 and above frequencies. The reason I ask is because come January 2015, our fuck tard of a government sold everything above 694 MHz to mobile phone companies like Telstra and Vodaphone so they can operate their 4G network. If LP was to tour and they run in that 694 MHz and above band, its gonna cause interference issues and they can use these band boys. So do they hire 4 channels of UHF (that's just brads rack not including Mikes/Daves rig + vocal mikes + In ears) and run them into the Whirlwind? I was just thinking about the other day considering my company just went through a massive buy back scheme (nightmare) of anything above 694 MHz. And while your here, wih the wireless packs jumping from GTR to GTR, how are they attached? Simply taped onto the GTR strap?? Lastly, input from me. While watching the webcast, it seems like Joes Lemur might be a thing of the past. He's cearly using an iPad for his samples now but running the Lemur app. Not sure on the model but its not a mini, and it sports the lightning bolt connection so it must be post iPad 3.
  18. Great show. But I've got to shake my head to some of things being said on this thread eg, when Joe came in at the end of Mike's solo. It wasnt a mistake, hes done it a few times. The whole Idea is for the Solo to transition to numb encore. Plus, I would put it as an improvisation, not a mistake. A mistake would be he played new divide samples or some shit instead of numb. Also, the band fucking loves COG experience. Brad, Chester, Joe jumping around. Much energy, Very entertaining, WOW.
  19. I just finished watching it. Interesting movie to say the least. Noticed a few things fans will pick up on. Also Maurice who used to tour with LP plays a cameo!
