  1. Great post! I admit that when listening to songs randomly I skip the phone calls from Reanimation. But in the context of the album they make sense. As far as ATS: It is supposed to be one big experience but I think you will definitely know what song is what after a few listens through. Skip the ones that aren't relevant when listening randomly and move on Just don't forget to listen to the full album every once in a while.
  2. The effect on the voice is EXACTLY what T-Pain does. I'm not talking about the style of the music or anything. It's not creative when the use of the effect has been done over, and over, and over again. I don't care the style of music it's being used in, it's not original to use maxed out autotune settings because EVERYONE has done them. It's exactly the same as the nu-metal tag. Everyone was doing that shit in the early 2000's. Then people got sick of it just as they will of autotune.
  3. Sounds like Lil Wayne's rock album to me. Which sounds like a rapper using autotune to sing. I'm sorry but I wasn't trying to say only hip-hop uses autotune. Cher did it first. Well I take that back. People have been using autotune long before Cher but no one messed with the settings to make it sound like the autotune we have all come to know until she did it. Let's all remember that autotune when used how intended is meant to correct the pitch of your voice slightly. T-Pain and Cher just maxed out the settings to get the extreme correction that causes the effect people refer to as autotune. Back to LP. It's not autotune. If it is I will smash my CD to bits for the world to see. Guarantee it's not though.
  4. like, like, LIKE, FUCKING LOVE! Why do people hate on intros/outros/interludes? LP fans love when they do them live but if it's on the CD its suddenly utter shit...I don't get it. and +1 to the radio friendly comment. Give us 3-4 singles and let the rest be crazy out there depth of the mind kind of stuff. I'm gonna say this with the utmost respect cause I used to be exactly the same. But the problem with most LP fans is that radio=music to them. Or MTV=music. And now that LP is seemingly moving in a somewhat different direction people don't know what to do. Some of my favorite music in the world will never be played on MTV or the radio, not because of length or profanity but because it's simply not marketable to the average crowd. I'm going on record saying that if this album is great but different (and we know it's different) and LP loses some of their more mainstream fans, I'll be okay with it. Too many teeny boppers still calling themselves fans
  5. I love you to death Ana but I'm gonna go ahead and say you're wrong about autotune. LP has been trying to move away from trends, why in the hell would they do what every single hip-hop artist out there is doing? I'm thinking you must be confusing some type of vocal effect for autotune. It's not the only one out there ya know! Thank you for the info though, really appreciate it. It sounds to me like nobody is going to be able to describe this album to someone who hasn't heard it haha. Bring it on LP, you've got me excited!
  6. I swear if people start complaining about song length before they even hear the songs... Not every song on the album has to be radio friendly single length material people. Just because they're short does not mean they're instrumental. Sorry, had to rant a little there
  7. Sure would like to hear this full show...hey Nic...ah better keep my mouth shut
  8. Thanks for the link, I had never read that article. My view on drug/alcohol use is this. If you can experiment and have fun every once and a while with no addiction then go for it. But as far as Chester it seems he has an addictive personality and being sober is the best choice for him.
  9. I knew about the other drugs; I have that issue of Inked. I didn't mention them because I don't think he's been really heavy into any of that stuff during the LP days. Maybe every now and then he would, but certainly not anymore.
  10. All I know is that Chester used to smoke cigarettes and drink but no longer does either. As far as pot and anything else, who knows but I would say probably not. And Brad does nothing.
  11. I would hope Brad is open minded enough not to care if others choose to smoke pot. It's not like Snoop would have said "Oh Brad doesn't smoke? I can't tour with him." I'm assuming he doesn't like Mike's comment because he doesn't want his album labeled as something specifically for stoners. I could be completely wrong here but that's my guess.
  12. I hope this is true again. But I doubt it.
  13. Not if you have AdBlockPlus installed lol
  14. Astat and AndOne win this thread. I love LPL to death but some of you guys bitch wayyy too much.
  15. We're on the downhill slide folks...THE CATALYST WILL BE HERE SOON!!! So excited
  16. Where's all the people who said this was a dance song now?
  17. TECHNO VIKING FUCKING RULES! Awesome haha.
  18. I mixed two of the clips together pretty well. Couldn't make the third fit so I left it out. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XJZEO82U
  19. Holy shit. I haven't had this feeling in so long. This sounds god damn amazing.
  20. The new clip didn't give me too much more insight into the song but I had a feeling we'd see guitar at some point!
  21. I'm honored haha. As someone who has been an LP fan since 2000, since I was 12 years old, I think I will share that same excitement on my first listen. I've grown up with this band and I'm excited that they have grown up too, instead of falling into the trap so many other bands do of staying too static. Haha I don't think I've ever been sigged before...glad some people are with me on this.
  22. Interesting...I'll probably check this out cause I'm an amine fan.
  23. I love it. I don't want Hybrid Theory again. I don't want Meteora again. When MTM came out that's what I wanted. But once MTM grew on me and I saw the ideas these guys have when they think outside their "label", I wanted things to progress further. This is doing it in my opinion. Like the guys always used to say, they chose the name Linkin Park because it means nothing. It lets the music define the name. And I believe that is still true to this day.
  24. I hope they release a 7" picture disc like they did for the MTM singles. Those things are sweet!
