  1. Well, if we are to believe Jeff's words, via his Instagram? We'll get everything he has on the band in the coming months. I wouldn't hold my breath, obviously, but there's certainly stakes to his claims and there's always a shot.
  2. I can understand that, but I think the answer to the question is no, they are not done. Pretty sure they've said anything but touring is on the table as of right now, don't quote me on that though.
  3. So, I was doing some thinking late last night, and something dawned on me. We wondered where the Wizard Song was for so long, and why the band wouldn't release it. But remember, they said it was a joke song they were fucking around with in the studio. The same goes for Mmm, Cookies. It was all joke shit they were doing for fun. Sure, the Wizard Song was obviously a little more complete, but in the end it was probably just finding some weird shit to do with something they didn't plan to continue with. Aside just not knowing where it was, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we didn't ever get it thanks to how we reacted to Mmm... Cookies. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it was an interesting thought.
  4. They could definitely do it. Mike's a powerful singer and an emotional writer. It would be different without Chester but it would work and it'd be nice to see these guys getting back into things. I do very much miss Linkin Park together, in whatever capacity.
  5. Mike singing is sometimes considered to be an unknown thing to Linkin Park fans, weirdly. Usually because we're used to Chester being the lead singer and all. But Mike does a lot of the backing vocals throughout the discography and even has some songs that just straight up have him (Massive, No Roads Left being great examples.) and his singing voice honestly only gets better with age. In My Head is so VERY good and keep in mind, he still does the higher backing vocals behind Kailee Morgue, too.
  6. I was gonna say, I never really heard about what happened between them. Anyone got the general scoop? I thought they were at least still chill to be honest, could have sworn he mentioned them in a pretty positive light not all that long ago. Maybe I'm making things up in my own head, but-
  7. Before I properly made my account I often scrolled these forums for hours, especially around this time last year thanks to a very slow seminar class. Deftest got me (and my teacher, funnily enough) incredibly hyped when it was announced, so it really felt weird that we just forgot it existed for some reason. Usually when a song is set for release like this we get relentless, even if the song fucking sucks. We didn't have the fairest clue about what Pictureboard sounded like but we definitely all wanted it regardless. And if LP gave their blessing, I think we definitely should have gotten it. That, or they could have started a crowdfund for the song/tape's release. I KNOW that would get funded really fucking quickly knowing the LP community. I think most of us aren't really the ones to do that. That would be more for staff members, or Mike himself, to be honest with you. Nobody else would really have a shot. And I doubt Mike really wants to make a very big deal out of a song he told us he very much disliked and didn't intend on releasing himself.
  8. Yeah, I went to go check out the post after work yesterday, saw it in the comments. Fucking weirdos.
  9. Deftest is probably the strangest case of an unreleased LP song, no? I'd still love to hear this, I wish someone had actually put out a bid. Wasn't there some malfunctions with the site? And has anyone been able to reach the tape's owner since the last time this thread was mentioned?
  10. I understand that speculation is going to happen, but man, it feels wrong to speculate about something like that. I know we all want answers even 6 years later but in the end, what happened happened and it was very much the culmination of a very rough life he lived. I miss him every day, and I'm someone who hadn't gotten into Linkin Park until after he passed (It was the day he passed, too. Someone was selling Hybrid Theory at a garage sale and my father bought it for the car.) When I learned not long after that he had passed, I sobbed hard, and I hadn't even been into the music longer than a year. Chester has genuinely saved my life multiple times over the years, even after his passing. He was an amazing person through and through and I hope he's finally at peace. One thing I am very glad for is that people around him are finally doing alright. Mike looks and sounds much happier nowadays. Look at his review of HT20 and M20, you can just tell he's a lot more at peace and things aren't so hard for him to look back on. I'm sure there's still a little struggle here and there, there always will be, but he seems a lot happier now and I cannot be more thankful. Losing one of your best friends fucking sucks dude. And I can't even imagine what Talinda and the kids were going through, but again, they all seem much happier and at peace since what went down. I know Chester would be happy that they're all doing okay, as am I.
  11. Whoever banned 'em, THANK YOU. I dunno if this dude was Jeff or just an insane meat rider but holy shit, he was obnoxious. "Everyone want Turn to Grey." I bet if you ask most Linkin Park fans, they won't know what the hell that is. Now, don't get me wrong, I do very much want to hear these things, but I simply refuse to get my hopes up because there's a much higher chance we don't get these things at all. We should just be happy with what we got. We got fucking PICTUREBOARD, man!
  12. Sometimes I forget that Cross Off is a pretty emotional one looking at the lyrics. Always hypes me up personally. BTH is DEFINITELY up there, especially the live versions with the extended intro/outro. Over lunch I was just remembering and majority of DBS too, no? Crawl Back in is very traditionally edgy but definitely up there, Let Down always gets me in the feels. Too Late, Walking In Circles, all really emotional overall.
  13. Obviously One More Light is up there. It's one of the only songs I've ever sobbed over. Valentine's Day ON Valentine's Day hits hard for sure, let alone any normal day. In Between's another good one for me personally. I grew up on every single album, but MTM has always been my favourite era of the band, so a lot of those songs can hit just because my worst mental period was spent listening to that on repeat a LOT.
  14. That's expecting WAY too much from LP. They might not even HAVE that many Hybrid Theory era demos with Chaz on them. I feel like if they had some of these things, they would have released them. That, or if they felt they were even good. I have no doubt that it will be cool to get these things from Jeff Blue, but there is every possibility that they aren't all that great, just based on the fact that they weren't included on what the band thought should go on Hybrid. Maybe they just couldn't find them because Jeff has them. I can't say for sure. But expecting that much from their earliest album, which we had already gotten a LOT from before HT20, by the way, is pretty absurd, respectfully.
  15. When it comes down to it, the best thing I can say is not to get your hopes up on this. I would LOVE to hear these old goodies, really, I would. Maybe he has old footage of Xero/Hybrid Theory performing. That would be GREAT. I think legally, there shouldn't be any issues. Otherwise, there would have been huge problems with From Xero to #1. So legally, I doubt there would be much trouble. But I still don't want to get my hopes up that we get these things from him yet. It just feels unlikely. I guess we'll have to wait and find out. I would certainly love to hear this alternate And One we've heard so much about, and obviously the last of the Xero stuff would be pretty cool to say we have, too. I know how a lot of us are completionists with the band.
  16. To be fair, it's very likely that we won't get these kinds of things. Linkin Park is certainly notorious for saving virtually everything they do, but it wouldn't surprise me if they've lost a few things over the years. It's likely that the band won't even remember these things, it's been 20 years. If they aren't prominent and, on the off chance we've never heard about the songs these are related to, it's highly likely they simply won't remember what they were for. My guess? Early versions of songs and demos we already have, maybe some of the words belong to some of the tracks on Lost Demos. Who knows.
  17. I could definitely see this. Knowing Linkin Park, that's probably why a lot of songs were scrapped or reworked pretty heavily. They started more like Hybrid but wanted to push the envelope more than that. I don't know about anyone else, but Meteora has always sounded far more different than Hybrid. I can't see any Meteora tracks being added tp Hybrid and it sounding the same, and vice versa. Perhaps some earlier versions of some of these tracks were a little closer to that sound. I'd have to give this stuff a re-listen with that in mind, but hey, always possible.
  18. I mean, pretty much. We attach to anything we hear about most of the time. Not that that's a bad thing, of course. That's lead to us getting things like Pictureboard (which a lot of people have forgotten how big that actually was for us.) It's just nice to actually have it so we can kind of see where Mike's mind was going with it, even if I personally dislike how it sounds. There's a reason we got the version we got in the end, after all. Is it weird that I quite like them? We'd end up getting them from some rando on Youtube anyway, it's nice to have these extra little versions to hear every once in a while.
