  1. Mike definitely wasn't confident in his voice back in the day. You could always tell there was potential there for this (especially with No Roads Left) but live especially, he wasn't confident in taking center stage with a vocal performance like that. I bet he'd crush NRL now because you know he's finally comfortable in it.
  2. Definitely a lucky thing. Not worth paying upwards of the price of the M20 boxset, but if you can find it cheap, a cool piece to own.
  3. Same here, but I adore this song a ton, and it's a really sick thing to say you own from your favourite artist. Especially when it's a song that has meaning to ya/the artist.
  4. I was gonna grab a second one yesterday (since it was payday) and do a giveaway or somethin'. Give everyone a fair shot at it. Unfortunately it sold out so damn quick. I'll keep my eyes out regardless.
  5. Now I'm doubly as greatful I didn't wait till payday, lol.
  6. Got the email myself, put in my pre-order almost instantaneously. Love both tracks, and I always want to snag at any cool rarities. I'll do a post about it whenever I get it in and showcase everything off.
  7. Arright, I needed to give it the weekend to really dive deep into the song and feel for the energy, and I gotta say, it gets better with each listen. Maybe that's just me. I find some relatability to the lyrics, especially with some recent events i've personally been dealing with. While at a first glance, it's a song about LP's future, this is the thing I love with Mike's music, man. There isn't just one solid meaning. He can make it mean something to almost anyone. The energy is hype, it's not super long track but it makes you know it's here and I really appreciate it for what it is. Excited to see what else the future is gonna hold here.
  8. Yeah, it's kind of just that case of it's not what he feels up to. Maybe he's gonna keep hyping until he's ready, it's a hard say with Mike in 2023.
  9. Well, that's a hot take and a half. I love Minutes, I do, but to say they should have stopped after that is honestly pretty absurd. Songs like The Catalyst, Burning in the Skies, When They Come For Me, Castle of Glass, Powerless, Lost in the Echo, Final Masquerade, A Line in the Sand, Guilty All The Same, Until it's Gone, and dude this is just a very short list of the top of my head of some shit that seriously holds up. We never would have gotten those. At least half of those songs have pulled me out of some dark fucking shit, personally. To each their own, I guess, but to say they should have disbanded is a stretch and a half.
  10. That's... really strange. He's hyping too much up to just be one song and then... who even knows what else. Definitely one of the weirder hype-ups we've gotten.
  11. This definitely feels very LP-ish in terms of both lyrics and message. Mike really feels like he's reinforcing that idea not to keep prying at the band, because that return simply isn't in the cards. And honestly, good on him. The band is, obviously, going to be sorely missed, it has been, but if that's what this is about, I'm glad we have at least something. I love Mike's solo work just as much as I love Chester's. Mike's going to do just fine and I'm more than excited to see where this new era goes.
  12. I'm still hopeful that we'll have some info on if this is gonna be apart of an album or not. Album releases are some of my favourite things to anticipate and too many artists just kinda... stick with singles like once a year. A whole album of new music, especially considering all these songs being labelled as the "new era" really gets me anticipating the potential of an album and a tour. Been thinking about that more than usual recently. Just seems like all this teasing is leading to something big, not just one song and then dipping for 6 months.
  13. Holy shit, I'm in love with the song already. Might be Mike's best solo song thus far. At LEAST up there with Watching as I Fall and Promises I Can't Keep. Really loving this new era a LOT.
  14. I mean shit, I guess so. Those were the most AI ass responses I've seen in my life... and I got a teacher who makes AI do all his feedback shit.
  15. Hot Topic had some DOPE Meteora and Hybrid Theory merch. I have most of it (need to get that Breaking The Habit T-Shirt, though.) They CAN make some good shit, but for whatever reason, they don't. Not sure why.
  16. I mean, I doubt Mike would simply drop one single about it being done and leave it there. Perhaps it's a topic the album (praying there is one) will cover, rather than just one single that'll just kinda sit there like Open Door, Happy Endings, and In My Head (All phenomenal songs, but they kinda just... dropped and then existed.)
  17. That's very true, he's a fantastic artist. I'd love to see him fully continue, and I SERIOUSLY hope this isn't just a single, and is just one of many songs for an album. With every album, there's usually a tour, and he's the very top of my list to see live.
  18. In one of his snippets, he was very visibly drumming to the music. I know he was recently noting he wanted to learn, wouldn't be surprised if he got some help from Rob or some of the guys he was touring with in 2018. So overall, he can sing, rap, do the guitar, play the keys, sample/dj, mix/produce, and now he can drum. And I'm probably short ending that. He has the tools to do it all. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, and I wouldn't complain, either. It doesn't seem like the guys really want to continue. Rob is almost certainly a no, Brad seems on the fence, Joe is possible just because I know he's been up to stuff for a while now, and I think Dave wants to go on like Mike. It's messy, and hard to get the whole band together for another tour or anything.
  19. I know this is certainly a divisive opinion for some people, but I've been loving Mike's solo stuff, and this seriously excites me. His 2018/19 tour was phenomenal. Post Traumatic is one of my favourite albums, and In My Head is a staple of almost every playlist. I'm very, very excited to see what comes of this. If there's any shot he hits Detroit on a possible tour, not a soul will stop me from going.
  20. Yeah, he posts it publically like 2 days after the fact. Broadcast is, I assume, just an early access thing. I won't complain about seeing things early, though.
  21. Are you doing it via the mobile app? That's the only way to join to my knowledge. He posted the clip onto his instagram later in the day anyway, though.
  22. I think it's safe to assume that it is. While I'm uncertain who the lineup of Friends are, you can tell he's ready to get back out there. I just know I'm excited for whatever's to come.
  23. Well, well. Mike's at it again. Mike Shinoda just debuted his new Instagram Broadcast channel a few days ago. Definitely join up if you haven't already, because this seems to be his new form of the 'phone number' text channels he did a few years ago (which are sorely missed, by the way. The birthday message from Mike was the highlight of the year that year.) He's already started updating the channel with the usual cryptic Mike messages. This time, he attached a red tinted vignette of hair being buzzed away. It seems that he's teasing a new (or old) look, as the last time he had his hair buzzed was for Minutes to Midnight. Could he potentially be teasing a Minutes-esq track? You always gotta wonder with Mike.
  24. DId he not do a TV performance for Happy Endings? If memory serves, he definitely did a TV spot with them and looked better than ever doing it.
