  1. Im all for experimenting and a different record, but WTF I don't want Mike singing so much he's awful
  2. Im SO looking forward to a fan review to hit the internet
  3. Kinda sucks that im not even excited anymore about these comments from the band. The Catalyst is a good song, but it didn't blow my mind or anything. It's probably one of those songs i'll skip when I have the whole album on my ipod. Only reason I listen to it is because it's the only NEW Linkin Park on my ipod.
  4. Not really. LP will sell big, my guess 1-2 times platinum, 5-6 million worldwide.
  5. What I've Done debuted at #7 and New Divide at #6. 35 is a pretty bad debut for the first single off a big bands record after a 3 year hiatus.
  6. Ah who cares im bored of the song already :S I just want the album at this point
  7. Linkin Park's trending on twitter right now :-)
  8. He seemed a bit hesistant to say there were heavier tracks on the album and that Chester does some screaming. It came off in a way where he was like " yeahhh well um theres some of that". Personally Linkin Park is probably the worst people to describe their own records lol They'll say that their doing something, yet it only ends up one track. Or describe it a certain way " genre-busting" " mix of m2m and hybrid theory ( from chester)" when it's none of that so far. Just have to wait and see, or look out for a review by someone who has heard it a la the 6 track sampler.
  9. The full song sounds better, but still in the lower tier of LP songs in the big picture
  10. Yeah i'll admit it sounds a bit awkward hearing the recordings, but it sounds great live. I swear when he hear them live the vocals sound JUST like they do on the album, then i hear the recordings and they don't lol Live is just a different experience. SOTD is a cool song live, everyone puts their lighters up, the lighting is great, and the end with the entire band playing an instrument (minus Joe lol) is very cool to see
  11. Have you seen it PERFORMED live? It's fuckin incredible. The guitar solo at the end and Chester playing guitar is great. It sounded great in concert, qwerty and shadow of the day were probably my favorites live during PR 07
  12. It's most of it, and what the "jist" of the song is. The chorus repeated over and over again, random sounds and scratches to a breakdown in the song at the end that feels so friggin rushed. This song is fucking amateur.
  13. It's obviously a radio edit of the song. Why would LP team up with Medal of Honor ( which is a multi-million dollar franchise) and give them a remix of the song? Like seriously, you and others shouldn't be so naive and optimistic about this song. Anyway, song sucks. Congratulations LP, you single handily created electric gospel music.
  14. Ditto. The song just sounds sloppy. Theres literally only a few lines of lyrics, Mike and Chester sound WAY too produced, i really took nothing away from this song. No idea why it's called the catalyst either, the lyrics just feel random. I can't believe this is the LEAD single after years in the studio. So fuckin overwhelmed. Meh oh well. Also, how the hell are they going to pull this song off live? It's going to be a disaster.. So much for the hype. Im lowering my expectations for this band, they've just lost their touch in my opinion based on this single. It sounded like a fuckin electric gospel song. The fan remixes were better, sad..
  15. 226 followers on twitter. HMMMMMMM sounds like their just bull shitting to get some attention. my guess is that they play a preview then announce they will be playing it monday night like the other radio stations.
  16. Please can we have ONE gigantic Julien K news thread that doesn't get a spot on the front page. Theres so much LP news these days, there's literally 10 members top who even care about Julien K
  17. Yeah Im trying to be open minded as well, im hoping we get some guitars and Mike's 10 second clip he gave fans a few days ago sounded great. The stems and this preview sound terrible though. I just feel like i've heard this type of song done better by other people, i just want Linkin Park TO BE Linkin Park, but it seems like these days I don't know what that is. Thats what bothers me about the band these days, we just don't know what we're going to get and thats not necessarily a good thing. i feel like based on their past work they get so much confidence by fans, but all this experimenting and trying out new things has translated into better music, just good music. As a fan who has to wait 4 years for an album, it's just discouraging and turning me away from the band. Hybrid Theory and Meteora holds a special place with me, so i'll never jump off the bandwagon, but if this album sucks I can see my devotion to the band slowly going away. Hopefully im wrong and the song/album impresses. So far it hasn't.
  18. I guess im in the minority who thinks this song sounds terrible so far. Sounds like electric gospel music.
  19. I personally love the tracklisting. The one step closer, in the end, don't stay, what i've done, in between, etc track titles are too plain. The track titles alone just show that the songs aren't just a typical linkin park song about being pushed one step closer to the edge verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus anymore. Super pumped to hear this album. Definantly buying that Cd/DVD combo
  20. Very cool LPTV. I'm looking forward to the making of a thousand suns documentary.
  21. I hate how they have intros, and short instrumentals too. That's not to say that i don't enjoy them, but if the album is only going to be 12 songs, then make sure their friggin 12 full length songs. LP should put out 15 track albums minimum if it takes 4 god damn years at a time. /end rant lol
  22. I don't hate the song, but it's not even close to being top 3. The sample used is awful. The lyrics are average. The guitar solo was average. This song is great live, but it's not a standout track that defines LP for it's greatness. It's LP trying to make a song to sound a certain way to gain some credibility in my opinion. It did not fit at all on Minutes to Midnight. Ugh that album was a disaster, it's as if objective 1 was do what it takes to NOT make a Hybrid Theory/Meteora. Objective 2: Oh yeah, try and make it sound good.
  23. Currently it's... 1. Papercut- I just love the guitar riff. Mike's rapping was brilliant and how he jumps back in after the first chorus. Chester was amazong on the bridge, the layered vocals, the samples used, scratching, etc it was just LP at the top of their game in my opinion. 2. New Divide- I LOVE Chesters performance on this song vocally. The melodies in this song are really nice. I hear this song acapella all the time as well, and it's just GREAT. The breakdown, the chorus, the lyrics, etc etc it was just a brilliant song. The lyrics " Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies/across this new divide" is one of my favorite LP lines ever. I've been hearing this song for over a year now regularly. I had a REALLY tough year, and this song makes things a tiny bit better for the 3-4 min I get to escape and listen to it. 3. Breaking the Habit- Once again Chester was brilliant on this song. LOVE the lyrics, the chorus was AMAZING. The bridge, etc, what's not to love. Notables: Easier to Run, Numb, Crawling, A Place for My head, With You, Pushing me away, ( pretty much the entire Hybrid Theory album), Shadow of the day. God I love LP..
  24. 1. Hybrid Theory- Entire album was great. no fillers. fav track - papercut 2. Meteora- great sophmore album. some fillers, formulaic songs that LP was doing too much. fav track- breaking the habit. ......................................... Distant 3rd. good album. first 2 were far superior. fav track- shadow of the day.
