The music video is fucking awesome. Joe is really good and is a massive talent for the band to have. Just a good reminder of it. The guitars seem quite a bit louder on the music video version, in a good way. Love the video.

Sonic Temple has confirmed Linkin Park will be headlining the 2025 edition of the festival on Saturday, May 10, 2025. They will join Metallica and Korn as headliners. For tickets and more, visit the Sonic Temple website. Linkin Park is also expected at Welcome to Rockville in Florida, which will be announcing this fall as well.

The song itself sounds like a modern day Miley Cyrus pop song. That's not intended to be a knock on LP or Miley, but the pop production and vocal delivery has a very noticeable Miley style to it. It sounds like it fits on One More Light if you turned the OML guitars up a tad. Think it will take the brain a while to comprehend a "Linkin Park song" without Chester OR Mike can be the band - not something we are used to and it might take people a while on that. They needed to rip the bandaid off at some point, though. It doesn't have much going for it but it isn't a bad song. Short, poppy, etc. Don't really like the sound of the drums but we'll have to get used to that with a new drummer. All in all, it's no worse than Battle Symphony or Lies Greed Misery, probably their two worst pre-release songs they've ever done. The song is fine but doesn't have much going for it like Emptiness Machine which is an absolute fucking monster track. Hopefully the rest of the album is more of the "rock throwdown jam" vibe and not pop.

Don't really have an issue with variants or the amount of physical copies - it's how you sell albums these days. The only disappointing thing is that by the time we got out of the Warner show on September 5 and could figure out what actually was going on (no service in that place), the best merch items for the album were already sold out - the blue & orchid splatter, and the CD box set. It would be nice if they could restock both of those.
-
Somewhat surprised the global scavenger hunt didn't end up with the release of the song.

Another full one from Seoul uploaded this week.

NovaRock dropped the lineup but missing the June 12, 2025 headliner. Almost definitely is LP.

Wonder when the London performance will be announced?

Fiore was probably there full-time when they were recorded in the studio in 2023 when Brad first met Emily and they started recording together. The 2019-2022 sessions of Mike, Dave, Joe, (sometimes Rob), Colin, Emily, and a million other artists at Mike's house... I would doubt that Fiore was there for any of that. Maybe very limited stuff.

That's Frank Maddocks, he's been working with LP since Hybrid Theory.

This was fun as hell for Living Things. Glad they are doing it again with a new generation of fans.

As we saw with Welcome and what was going to happen in fall 2017 with Fort Minor, Mike doesn't necessarily need a break from LP to do anything. I just look at it as he had the opportunity to release a new song and did. Yeah the LP comeback was WELL under way by that point. It did seem like an album was coming though because of the "new era" comments.

Massively missed opportunity with MTM to do that considering the b-sides for that are absolutely insane.

People missed the music for a very long time. That's what's happening. And the new single they dropped with Emptiness Machine kicks fucking ass too. Combination of both things.

Linkin Park is making waves on the Billboard Rock Charts right now, just under a month from the release of the new album 'From Zero'. "The Emptiness Machine" tops the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart at #1, Hybrid Theory single "In the End" tops the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart for the first time ever at #1, and "Heavy is the Crown" also tops the Hard Rock Digital Songs Sales Chart at #1. While "The Emptiness Machine" and "Heavy is the Crown" have been performing quite well lately, "In the End" comes as a surprise. Or maybe not? A recent tweet from "Pop Culture 2000s" of the music video for the song has over 80 million views, over 83,000 retweets and over 400,000 likes.

Sonic Temple in OH and Rockville in FL are surely locks for LP. But they’re a month after this. Will they do fly dates like 2015 or schedule shows between them? Would much rather see LP play a headline show over a 70-80 minute festival slot at Sick New World.

The lineup for Sick New World in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 12, 2025 has dropped and features Metallica, Linkin Park, and many more bands. This is expected to be the first of many 2025 concert dates announced for Linkin Park on the From Zero World Tour.

It will never hurt to try, but this wasn't handled very well by the label at all. Complete mess. I would say "at least they tried" but they deliberately excluded so many fans from the fixes that you can just chalk the whole thing up to a bad attempt to make it right. Nothing to do with the band themselves or their direct team. Worst case scenario, just buy it on Discogs for the fixed version.

Yeah the way this information all came out is quite odd. The Indonesian press woman was just...weird and this was not done (maybe "presented" is the right word) well at all. Surprised the label saw this and let it be posted. This doesn't seem like a traditional interview because so many tiny bits and pieces are coming out about it.

The host in the new Asian interview says the band is going to Jakarta in 2025.
-
Phoenix says in that new (pretty bad) interview from the Asian press that Emptiness Machine has existed for quite some time.

It's in the rock press to some extent already. https://www.alternativenation.net/chesters-mom-in-trouble-for-attacking-linkin-park/ https://www.facebook.com/altnationnet/posts/pfbid02ng7c2CpxvZFBPBHMhwP1fg7zK3zZpPRsXY4N3SHv3upq4mqges4BTNPjYR2BADR5l?__cft__[0]=AZWvr0Oz49F5IjdNgbKy20xlP7PdS3ndQZ_lv1wtDp8o0hi3L6WiQdy6mmQni-6KChSVMzjjmBDVX8kniEnmGUdfWxDOJFhUsDTXQMxlHhQ5bi7FZlVnz6Ll2CSCWaI3YUrg0plaZNdMU851iDHemNatx7f2SMZJQKh83_Bhb_2vZa2wRywhcvyDBsbOkYLUdgjDcUGLSSWsBiAgDnTCs9j2&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R https://www.facebook.com/altnationnet/posts/pfbid02mdcTwvhpc4tTQkv5Qs3Jj2NSzHWxa8Z35HqP9y2nNLBs43tEKa18TCyH3kADb4ijl?__cft__[0]=AZUwUIHJX4wyfOlAJMt3l0yi3oBYGQaafdR2RGkhRaybD8LmhW0ilq0amBjo61sYouq3rWwxx6lLuEaYHtiOilW9Bgo-bkDxlLdj9iCeOFYA4YvmFvOWWxzQhJ1FkL8j0e6NWON5s_n268OCVBorBU9NSMyx4IMPEnGQzTozHN1iPHoDPp2ss29N8mDC7D_Jvl9Cr3FG8Q7XGSsofZ_NkJ5t&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R

Good Things Go is from 2020 (at the latest) so it's not unreasonable to think a lot of these songs could be from any time 2019-now, including parts from collaborators and other songwriters they were working with in that entire timeframe. Honestly since Rob didn't leave the band until at least late 2022 or early 2023, what's surprising is there is no Rob credit on anything on the album since he was actively involved in the band in 2019, 2020, 2021, etc.

Linkin Park appears set to release the third song from their upcoming album From Zero soon. "Over Each Other", track 5, was recently delivered to digital streaming platforms for a release soon. Fans will recognize credits on this song as including collaborator Jon Green (Hollywood Bowl MVP and One More Light album collaborator, as well as Friendly Fire). Matias Mora also has a credit on the song. It is rumored that Joe Hahn may have directed a video for this song as well. There is currently not an exact known release date, but it could be as soon as this week.

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Dead By Sunrise's Out of Ashes and the release of the digital deluxe edition, LPLive sat down with Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh of Dead By Sunrise, Julien-K, Orgy, etc to discuss the band, album, and much more. Tune in to hear stories about recording the album with Chester, how "Let Down" was chosen for the inaugural 2005 acoustic performance on television, more about the Las Vegas 2009 show, performing in Linkin Park's encore in 2009, and a lot more. A sincere thank you to Ryan and Amir for being so generous with your time!
