THIS FUCKING POST. You are awesome. I agree, I'd love to hear more from the MTM sessions. MTM is by far my favorite LP album and there are so many awesome songs that we haven't heard yet, I guarantee it.

I love those two songs!! The whole record is amazing. Every song kicks ass.

No idea why the DBS forum is even still an option here. LPlive, LPA, everywhere, everyone hates DBS. It's one of my favorite albums of all time. Is there is no Fort Minor forum, why is there DBS? Just so everyone can say how shitty it is? It's not like it affected LP in any way, shape or form. If you didn't like the album, then don't listen or think about it. It was released almost 2 years ago. Why all the unnecessary hate??

I love what LPU is doing with the CDs now!!! SO much better than previous years with live tracks! I want to hear some demos of songs we have already, like Given Up (21 Stitches) or early songs like Papercut maybe. Idk. I can't wait for LPU11, I hope it is demos and b-sides again because I will gladly pay money. But if it's live or remixes, no thanks...

PR04 needs to be released. Maybe Tampa or Atlanta since both have a song featured on the LPU4 CD.

That's what LP is for buddy. To not be a certain sound, and not to allow people to categorize them. DBS was basically a collection of 'rock' songs that Chester has written over the years, and he got together with Ryan and Amir while he was getting divorced, lived with them, and they made the album, then later recorded in in 2008 and released it in late 2009. I think if DBS was released in 2005-2006, a LOT of people would view it differently. It came out at a bad time. There wasn't much time for the record to get toured, and LP already changed their sound with MTM and were recording ATS, so it came out in a time where nobody wanted LP to sound 'nu-metal'.

Blackbirds is pretty depressing...I think the song is about drugs, personally. So many references to drug use and withdrawal, I bet they kept the same lyrics from 2006-2007 when they reworked it for 8BR.

For people that had their first show on the Summer 08 tour for example, didn't get a DSP and that's wrong since a lot of other people did. Just my two cents.

The only thing I didn't like with what you said was adding the piano Radiance thing after Numb. Why? It wouldn't flow with the rest of the CC songs and it'd be really out of place and weird. It would also be cool for LFY to somehow have the 08 summer intro worked into it.

I wonder what drugs Chester did during the times MTM was being recorded then. Cuz I know he was an alcoholic and smoked weed, but judging by this interview, the rest of the band did as well. In the issue of Inked that he did an interview, he said he liked to do ecstasy, shrooms, cocaine and acid, maybe that's what he means when he was 'tripping' out while the rest of the band drank and smoked pot.

That's the most 'Mike' oriented list in this whole thread.

I misinterpreted what he said in the newsletter, I just checked. He said they started in the MTM writing process and left it how it was and stopped working on it...I'm assuming it was written either at the Korn Studio or maybe it made it to the Houdini House sessions.

I think it has a lot to do with the immaturity in the lyrics, or maybe he just really doesn't like the song at all. He also probably got sick of playing it, maybe that's why they stopped. If you notice, they only really play the singles from Hybrid Theory nowadays, they don't play stuff like With You, Forgotten, Cure For The Itch, Pushing Me Away, High Voltage, My December, APFMH or Points anymore, etc. Runaway actually stayed in the sets longer than songs like With You, High Voltage, Forgotten, Figure.09, Easier To Run, Hit The Floor, Nobody's Listening and more did! The last time it was played was at Bamboozle in 2007, it was my first LP show. Songs like Figure haven't been played since 2004, and Forgotten since like 2002, etc.

It's strange...every time I listen to songs like Issho Ni or Not Alone, I always end up getting a positive vibe for some odd reason... Like it gives me this weird feeling, like I'm not alone with whatever is going on, and I don't know if the people suffering in Japan or Haiti feel that from the music, but maybe they do. Maybe I'm the only person that feels like this. Recently, I have been listening to 'What We Don't Know' from LPUX, it's pretty depressing...not much hope in that song. I think it's about Chester and Sam's split, like many songs on MTM, plus it was one of the first songs recorded for MTM. SOURCE: Brad in the LPUX Newsletter.
