You know, honestly me neither. Chester Bennington was someone I idolized (and someone who was a light in the darkness of my mental issues in the past) his suicide crushed me, for the longest time I honestly was against them getting a new singer. If you were to ask me even a year and a half to two years ago if I thought LP should continue with a new singer I would’ve definitely said “no”. That being said, Emily is fantastic and I also think a great fit for the band. Every performance she’s only getting better and more comfortable, sky is the limit for her IMO. The moment that won me over completely was the LA performance on the 11th (specifically her hauntingly beautiful rendition of My December and then her amazing screams on Keys To The Kingdom).

Honestly… I’m not against this, and to be honest the rest of the guys (even if it’s just Mike, Phoenix & Brad + the new vocalist) deserve to be playing onstage while they still can. If this is the way for them to do it then I’m okay. As much as I love Mike & think highly of his talents, he can’t really hit the high notes required of most LP choruses sung by Chester. With that being said Mike probably can’t front LP by himself, I’m sure he’s tried behind the scenes, otherwise they wouldn’t have been on hiatus for 7 years. Enough time (and grief processing - because Chester was my hero) has passed to let me say that in my opinion LP shouldn’t die with Chester, that’s not fair to the rest of the band. As much as we all loved Chester, he made the decision to take his own life and leave us behind because he was truly suffering. But his body of work should be celebrated and probably always will be. I’m confident we’ll continue to get box sets & material with Chester as time goes on. (Here’s hoping Summer Sonic 06 gets released lol) Also, any singer they get will be compared to him anyway regardless of who it is, (Mike would be as well if he were to front the band) but i think a female vocal would bring less comparison, especially if the new singer is a good one, it might take some time for people to warm up to them regardless but I’m behind them 100%.

Wow! It’s been a DECADE?! It feels like just yesterday to me, I remember when it dropped and I was absolutely blown away. Just listened to the song, it’s still a freaking banger, entire THP album is underrated to be honest. Especially Rob’s drumming, it’s absolutely insane on the album. It sucks that THP is kind of under the radar, people were asking for “heavy” for years and they got it! THP is arguably the heaviest album LP did, and that’s probably why it wasn’t promoted well by the label. I remember Chester saying on Twitter in 2017 that GATS was “too rock for radio”. Also the video they did was a very puzzling decision, a proper music video instead would’ve been much better.

No Catalyst being there is definitely the strangest for me, but they should’ve included a THP song for sure. Even though the album wasn’t commercially successful it still deserves representation, I’m really surprised they didn’t put Final Masquerade or Wastelands on here
