...These guys had this much time to work out something new, and they didn't even bother? Not even a new intro to an older song or a different verse over Waiting For the End or something different during Bleed it Out or anything like that?

I've given this band the benefit of the doubt enough times over the course of this pathetic excuse for a touring cycle. I'm done. They are COMPLETELY phoning it in at this point and don't even care, so why should I? It's pretty obvious that Linkin Park doesn't give two shits about touring anymore, and if not, I guess that's fine with me. Hopefully their studio output continues to be satisfying. But I don't see myself dropping a bunch of money on another LP show in the future.

And yes, I know there are probably at least 2 other setlists they'll be playing on the upcoming tour. I guarantee right now that they'll follow the same format as this one: Same stuff they've been playing, with the addition of Castle of Glass. The next time you'll see Linkin Park play a new song live won't be any sooner than Japan in August.

What an absolutely horrible set. I wouldn't even go to a LP show with this set if it was free and I had transportation to and from the venue with pit tickets. Obviously LP does not enjoy touring or playing live anymore so why don't they just stop? This is almost an embarrassing set.

They better have something REALLY good planned for Aussie, or I'm gonna be hatin all ove the place.

I wouldn't expect anything new. Not to be negative but I can't believe people thought LP would bring back stuff like P5hng or Figure.09. They only play singles live nowadays. It's been that way since like the start of the LT cycle. I don't think LP will bust out any old school LP tracks or play the other half of Living Things at Soundwave. MAYBE if we're lucky, they MIGHT play one of the songs from the other half of Living Things in Japan this summer. But that's a stretch.

I didn't expect anything to be brought back, just for POWERLESS and IBG to come into the set.

You guys have begged for the band to bring back With You since 2007 and A Place for My Head since 2008. They've not only brought both back, but left both in virtually every uncut set they've performed in all of 2012. Then as a bonus they threw in Runaway for summer.

Points of Authority was absent from the entire A Thousand Suns tour. Once again fans begged for it back. Here it is in all it's glory. They even brought Somewhere I Belong back (all of it's cringeworthy qualities intact).

All of these songs are a result the band throwing their hardcore fans a bone. Sure they aren't as rare or "badass" as Figure.09 or P5hng, but they are deep cuts (minus Somewhere I Belong). And yet you insatiable fans STILL complain.

If anything the band should be fully inclined to remove ALL of those tracks in favour of new material off Living Things, but it seems they'd rather rotate Living Things tracks with one another. The biggest problem with the set is this lack of new material. Where is Powerless? Where is I'll Be Gone? Hell, where is Roads Untraveled?

Sure, the set may be disappointing to hardcore fans who have followed the entire Living Things tour, but to call it "embarrassing" or "horrible" is a laughable statement. There may be an absurd marathon of singles in the set, but since when have One Step Closer, Bleed It Out, Breaking the Habit and The Catalyst been considered poor and boring? Not to mention the inclusion of Lost in the Echo which is still new and heavy enough to deserve a worthy spot in the set without being "another boring single they've played thousand of times". Not to mention this side of the world has yet to even see Living Things material.

So much butthurt for silly reasons.

Ive been following LP's sets all through last year and ever since they last came to AUS, waiting and waiting until they announced to come to come back again. last year they changed the setlists up with some amazing stuff and completely reformatting their live show since ATS; APFMH and amazing intro, with you, mashing songs up and all the stuff weve seen, and just made it seemed like on this tour they'd do the same and just add some more badass stuff.

i was excited.

but set A... very very weak, and i dont think it will cater for the Soundwave crowd. IMO.

very disapointed, as its been over two years waiting to see this band finally come to my city, and ill be greeted with two sets that ive seen been played for a whole year now, seen the proshots and all that.

Although i am not taking it for granted they are touring AUS again, im guna go apeshit when i see them ... but please, just change it up.

LP should change it up for Australia because I know that most of the bands at Soundwave will laugh at LP secretly if they play this set.

Sorry to say it like that but that is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while, of course you would go. We all would. Don't be ridiculous.

I have to agree with the exaggeration. Of course this is not satisfying for us hardcore setlist-nazis (that's what we are, don't deny it). Only replacing 1 song in the set is indeed disappointing, especially since most the people who went to the show already saw it on the Honda Civic Tour. Sadly LP fails to deliver something special for special shows like this one. I'd consider a small show as special enough for a big band like them.

But that doesn't mean that the entire 2013 sets will be like this, nothing is set in stone. There's probably still 2 other sets for Australia, they probably have to cut the down for Soundwave but there's still the Sidewave shows where they can play normal sets.

For most of the people Castle Of Glass was a new song last night but they should have performed at least one more to make it really worth it.

Then hand over your hypothetical pit tickets and transportation. I will gladly take your hypothetical place.

I was sad to see IMR dropped for COG, something like SIB/Numb could have taken the hit for that.

They don't seem keen to play a lot of the riskier, non-singles like they did following MTM & ATS - I think if In Pieces, Valentines Day, In Between, HHH (in full!), Jornada, W&K, Blackout, WJL, The Messenger etc. were played on their respective tours, then it's odd that LT suddenly isn't getting that same treatment...

granted, some of the ATS tracks were interludes, but the band seems to not really be touring to promote "Living Things", more just the back catalogue, which is a bit disappointing really.

I'd still lay down money for tickets in a heartbeat, but it's a bit of a bummer to know that to know you're getting a "greatest hits" setlist.

There's always a reason for lacklustre sets - festival crowds, not a strictly 'linkin park tour', warm-up show, but then even when it is a special show (lpu/mfr) they do the same standard set. It feels a bit disheartening.

At least this show they talked a bit more, that's a plus.

Eh, I don't know. I went to 3 concerts for LP this summer and I wasn't overly excited about any of them, and when they were done, I just thought they were alright. I didn't love the whole experience like I did seeing them in 2007/2008 plus the 2010 show. They're just a different band now. I still love LP to death but I'm not sure if they will continue to be my favorite for much longer. I didn't think LT was that great to be honest, and I'm not sure if the direction LP will head in after will be good or bad. Also, to be honest, I really enjoyed MTM a lot, the album, the making of the album, the band's looks/attitudes and the touring. I liked ATS in that respect too. Ever since those times, though, I haven't felt the same. It's fine for me to really only love MTM, it's just my opinion. It's kind of sad that a band I was once overly passionate about is slipping through the cracks with me. I even have various LP symbols tattooed on me. I just don't know anymore. Live wise, I know they will never bring back any MTM songs besides the singles, and I know Given Up will be dropped sooner or later. Once that happens I will no longer go to see LP live. I've seen them 14 times now and I admit that I really only love the MTM LP music, not the others. I'm not bashing any of you guys for loving LP's music and loving to see them live. This is just how I personally feel. I know everyone in the LP fanbase thinks LP is super dedicated to their fanbase too because of summits and stuff but really all that is just hanging out with LP fans from around the world (which is DEF cool), but you only really get a usual meet and greet with the band. Mike didn't even look up at me or anything at the Summit, he just signed by CD in like 4 secs flat and walked right away without even looking up. In 2007 I had a regular old meet and greet and the band was super friendly, even let me take pictures with them. The band just isn't the same as they once were in any way, shape or form. Again, this is MY personal opinions so don't attack me for them.

I'm gonna play LOATR and apply the lyrics to moving on from the band lol.

Please excuse me if I've missed something, but where did the original pic come from? Bit odd that there's already a printed copy of the Australian headline set floating about, no less one with black gaffa tape around it?

If that's the headline set then I'd be fine with it. Sure, I'll be disappointed not to hear POWERLESS live. But it's still early days for CASTLE OF GLASS and we haven't had a Linkin Park show in Australia since late 2010. But yeah, it certainly won't compare to the live debut of Blackout and Burning In The Skies that we got last time ;) I'll never forget how Mike said at the M&G that took place before that show 'we're debuting a new song tonight that starts with the letter B'. Cheeky mofo!

I'm definitely wanting to hear A Place For My Head open most (if not all) of the Soundwave shows. I think that song will get the crowd into a good place for the rest of the set. Not sure who mentioned it earlier, but I don't think the other bands at Soundwave could 'laugh' at this set... they've had more hits (which are in the set) than most of the bands on the bill. Oh and with Travis Barker now deciding not to come to Australia for the shows - that's been a massive blow for Blink.

I think it's still a very solid set if you haven't seen a show of the LT our yet. I honestly would be pissed if Australia would get new songs all the sudden I won't be able to see if they don't come to Europe. That might sound selfish but that's my honest opinion, I mean seeing new stuff at shows is what keeps it exciting.

Travis Barker went back on his word? He's not going to Australia now? LOL wtf?? He said he was going! When Blink was first announced, it was Blink without Travis...then he said he'd take a boat and he'd be there. I wasn't aware he went back on that.

I believe the "Headline Set A" pic came from the stage and the other one came from Shinoda's keyboard area or something. Not exactly sure - ask the girl on Twitter (we RT'd the pic from her). It's legit though, she got it at the show.

Ha Blackout and BITS debut...lucky. I didn't even see them in a proper setting. Yes I saw each one rehearsed 5x but it'd be cool to see them in a show.

I believe she got it from Joe's station. Hoping for a different set for NZ

Well, my opinion doesn't really mean much because I've probably been wrong many times on predicting what songs the band is going to play for a given show and when they will debut. That being said, I still really believe that either Powerless or IBG is going to get a debut sometime between now and March 4th. My gut tells me it's going to be Powerless but...I won't be surprised come March 4th if they still haven't debuted anything or played anything besides slight variations of what's already been played.

I'll throw a party if they actually debut Powerless, I love that song.

Yep! Was announced via Facebook over the weekend - deep apologies from the band and all that. People are going nuts. I can totally see where both sides are coming from. Can't blame the guy for not being able to do it. But can also see why people are furious that this was announced pretty much a week out from the first show. Normally people don't consider absent drummers to be a deal breaker, but Travis has a pretty huge profile, so can understand the massive disappointment - it's being dubbed as Blink 18...

With the set list - how unusual then that that one says Headline Set A while the other specifically states Australia. Bizarre!

I remember everyone freaked out when Mike said that and naturally assumed it would be the debut of Blackout. Then ended up getting the bonus of both songs being debuted. That was a really great show and one of my favourites from that tour.
