“Branch and Arrow”, let’s hope they save it for future LPU demos. 💯 Phoenix gave the idea on what/how the chorus should be. They worked this song back in 2022 is damn, crazy. Mike’s hair so long, skinny Joe. Interesting behind the scene footages.

ps: seems like they releasing the behind-the-scene videos in tracklist order. I guess we will get “Heavy is the Crown” video next week?

It's probably from the time when Brad hadn't made a final decision about rejoining the band yet.

As I mentioned in the chattbox, the guitar riff in the demo version of this song sounds heavier and overall better to me than the one on the album

yeah, good catch, wouldn't be surprised if we do!

feel like this song's kind of got a lot of controversial opinions — though i actually really like CTB a lot & seeing how long it was being worked on is pretty cool.

I like it too, even if some people here say it’s bleed it out part 2 lol

“But the branch isn’t shiny as the arrow” made it to the final bridge

Seeing the rap go back to 2013 is so cool. This is probably my least fav track on the album but still a banger and a treat to see how it came together, there must be so much demo material from this era

I feel like there is not a lot here tho to say the demo is more interesting lol, recency bias fellas

It's cool that in this episode you can clearly see how it all started with Mike, Phoenix, and Joe, and then how the others gradually got more involved with the project.

Really dissapointed with this song, not sure how a team of A+ musicians created a rip-off of one of their greatest hits.

Im dissapointed because they are capable of so much more.

Emily's vocals on Stained and this one are so freaking annoying.

This is one of the songs that i just cant listen.

Technically Stained vocals are great but the issue is repetitive melody af. That hiting one tone staaaaaind over and over are fkn annoying

I like CTB, don’t like Stained however. I almost always skip it if it comes up.

me too! i love CTB because it's like a jam song, where you can enjoy it. just like "Bleed It Out", people hate it at the first place. after watched the process on how it's done, now im more appreciated it.

if they consider the final product as one of the greatest creation, who are we to judge them? lol. i mean, music is subjective. some people hate, some people love. you considered this as "rip-off" just because it sounds like BIO but technically, it's not the same. BIO ≠ CTB to be precisely. not just LP, there's tons of artists out there who created a song kinda similar to their greatest hits and yes it's amazing (eg: Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me A River" & "Mirror", they both sound-a-like but different)

damn, i missed that one. haha. it's funny that Mike's save his rap lyrics in note way back from 2013. imagine how many of those rap verse more in there. 😂

@Stranger who am i?

a hardcore crazy fan who loves the band since 2001 🔥

i thought you gonna said "i am spiderman" 😂. but yeah, joke aside, fans support the band, we dont get involved (or have any rights) with their creative process. if fans get involved with whatever process the band did, im sure the band no longer survive or relevant.

I really like this episode because I like Cut The Bridge. ;) I also like the riff that Mike plays at the beginning. Let's hope we don't have to wait 9 or even 19 years for the demo version.

You can see that Dave had a lot of cool ideas for this album. Great!

Cut the Bridge is on of the Best five Songs of From Zero, together with The Emptiness Machine, Overflow, IGYEIH and Good Things Go. Heavy is the Crown and Over Each Other are also good. Stained I don't like Stained at all.

Fans have the right to criticize the output though. You don't have to like and support every single thing they do to be a fan of the band. JZLP is well within his right to be disappointed with CTB and Stained and still be a fan.

I agree 100%. I’ve personally gotten into several arguments for criticizing the band over a release I didn’t like. Every fan has the right to dislike something and to criticize it always with respect.

As for taking fans’ opinions into account during the creative process, that’s what sets apart true artists from hitmakers. Linkin Park practically never cared about what we thought and always followed their own sound. Still, here we are, years later, still talking about them (some of us have been listening since the Hybrid Theory or Meteora days).

As for CTB, I really like the song and I think it had the potential to replace BIO as the last song in the setlist. Ending the set with BIO is something I just can’t take anymore! The only problem with CTB is that it’s not as relevant within the discography as BIO is, so it’s hard to imagine it being considered as a show closer.
