Derek from LPA (who is always as professional as possible any time he does business with people, so you know he didn't send him a stupid fanboy-type email) tried contacting Cheez for an interview probably 5+ years ago and the dude went full-on NUCLEAR about it. "How dare you contact me/you must be some kind of creepy Internet stalker for finding my info/I'm calling my lawyer" level shit. Over a fucking email. lol.

So looks like the date

2005.11.05 Mesa, AZ, Mesa Amphitheatre, Taste The Music Festival

was actually going to be the first Dead By Sunrise show (Chester's solo show to be exact), not a Bucket Of Weenies show.

What would have been the first perfomance of Chesters solo project with Julien-K at the Taste The Music Festival in Arizona Nov 5th has been cancelled... WE WILL NOT BE PERFORMING! It was decided today not to play the show... SORRY!!!

This show seem to fit the right part of the Sin City tour:

2005.10.26 Memphis, TN, New Daisy Theater

Super Diamond (Neil Diamond cover band), Spoon, Steve Byrne, other acts.

And I'm pretty sure none of the advertisements and listings for what was supposed to be a Spoon conert made any mention that it was a Camel sponsored event. No, they cleverly wait until they have your money and you're safely in the venue enmeshed in the glittery mess. It's so disgustingly shady. Fuck you Camel! If I ever start smoking again I'll be sure not to buy any of your cancer sticks.

No surprise we are having hard time looking for these dates.

How you find this stuff is crazy. Great job. Wow.

Not related to BOW, but since we're talking about the show in this thread, here's another interesting comment by Amir regarding that cancelled performance:

Let's just say it had nothing to do with us being "ready" to play and BTW we were only doing 3 songs acoustically anyway...

Nice find.

Prior to performing their first gig, Bucket Of Weenies rehearsed in a studio called Fortitude Studios (formerly Vintage Recorders) in Phoenix. There are a few photos of them hanging out in the studio (attached to this message).

Should be added to the guide as:
2005.05.xx Phoenix, AZ, Fortitude Studios

What's interesting is that the band was formed specifically to play that May 21st Club Tattoo show on that spot and they didn't even have a band name at the time. They weren't billed as Bucket Of Weenies on the gig's promo posters and flyers. The band was basically just Chester's backing band for his appearance at the event. It was promoted as "Linkin Park's Chester Bennington celebrating Club Tattoo's 10th anniversary".

They liked playing together, so they stuck with each other and then spontaneously came up with the name during a radio interview.

Wow this is fucking cool stuff. Thanks for sharing!!! It's also interesting that Samantha was on the flyer. I know she was a co-owner along with Chester but this was probably before the divorce was finalized. I think the divorce was actually finalized in May or June of 2005. I think May though, for some reason. I wonder if the flyer was made up months prior but probably not.

Don't have much time to do a research today, but here's a good start for everyone else.

I guess the Grand Rapids show in our guide was part of the Sin City tour, so BoW, obviously, did not play it.

Two more shows from the Sin City Tour:

03.11.2005 Austin, TX - Austin Music Hall

05.11.2005 Houston, TX - Meridian (w/ Kings Of Leon too)

Main bands: Modest Mouse, The Walkmen

The BOW show page as of right now definitely needs to be updated. That Grand Rapids show shouldn't be listed unless they post all stops on the Camel tour as well since they were all canceled for BOW, including that Grand Rapids show.

As far as shows that they actually played, I think this is a full list.

2005.05.xx  - Phoenix, AZ - Fortitude Studios (Lestat posted info about this above. Rehearsal for their first show in Tempe on 5/21.)

2005.05.21 - Tempe, AZ - Club Tattoo Anniversary Party (This was 100% the band's first show since it's been confirmed by Chester, Sean, Ryan, etc.)

2005.10.17 - Albuquerque, NM - Camel Cigarettes Tour (The band played about 6 or 7 songs before being kicked off the stage. They were also kicked off the tour after this.)

2005.10.22 - Lake Forest, CA - Etnies GvR Event (Was a show for Etnies, had nothing to do with Club Tattoo or the Camel tour.)

2005.10.25 - Los Angeles, CA - House Of Blues (There was a flyer for this show, it was just a one off show for the band. No reason to believe they didn't play it. MTV mentioned the band performing a few songs back in 2005 so it's pretty much 100% confirmed.)

2006.04.22 - Tempe, AZ - Club Tattoo Anniversary Party (Chester mentioned breaking up the band once he got sober, which he did in around June of 2006. So last show.)

The Taste The Music Festival on 11.01.2005 was found out to be a DBS show (Amir confirmed it), but was cancelled anyways. The Grand Rapids show as we know was canceled since it was part of the Camel tour, like I said before. And Albuquerque was the first show of the Camel Tour and the band got kicked off mid set. I guess we could list all the canceled shows, but why?

There also MAY be more shows, such as a rumored Best Buy parking lot show in December of 2006. BOW actually had a website where people could book the band for privates shows and private events and parties, etc. It's possible that the band was booked for shows that the general fanbase would have never known about, so I guess it's worth mentioning.

So I've been doing some research about the Camel Cigarettes Sin City tour, and I've figured out a few things. First of all, the Albuquerque show was not the first date of the tour, it was just the first one BOW played. This was a pretty sporadic "tour" throughout the late summer/fall of 2005 that seemed to be more of a corporate sponsorship of already-booked tour dates rather than a tour that Camel booked themselves (similar to how there were additional partners at certain Projekt Revolution shows in 2007/2008). It seems that these dates weren't heavily advertised with Camel sponsorship, likely due to strict consumer laws regarding tobacco sponsorships and commercials in the United States.

Here are the dates I've managed to track down, and who played them:

9/24/05 - Sonar (Baltimore, MD) (Kings of Leon headlined, also listed as a date on KOL's Aha Shake Heartbreak tour)
9/29/05 - Trocadero Theatre (Philadelphia, PA) (The Faint headlined)
10/16/05 - BB King's Blues Club & Grill (New York City, NY) (The Faint headlined)
10/17/05 - Desert Sands Motor Hotel (Albuquerque, NM) (Not sure if BOW or Black Maria was technically the headliner here)
*10/24/05 - ? (Grand Rapids, MI) (Likely a cancelled BOW performance but the tour still played the date - see more info below)
10/26/05 - New Daisy Theater (Memphis, TN) (Spoon headlined - Lestat mentioned this date previously)
11/3/05 - Austin Music Hall (Austin, TX) (Modest Mouse headlined)
11/5/05 - The Meridian (Houston, TX) (Modest Mouse headlined)
12/4/05 - Rain in the Desert @ Palms Resort & Casino (Las Vegas, NV) (Camp Freddy headlined)

As you can see, there's no consistent headliner for these gigs, and I haven't actually been able to find any evidence that any bands played more than a couple gigs on the tour at all, as a headliner or otherwise. Also you can clearly see that this isn't routed in any logical way like you'd route a tour where you expect the same lineup to play in multiple cities (NYC to Albuquerque overnight? Uhh no).

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Grand Rapids date was supposed to be another BOW date on this tour, meaning they didn't play it. I found this article about some of the burlesque performers who were on the tour, and it mentions that they performed "from Albuquerque and Grand Rapids to Richmond and Charlotte": https://www.riverfronttimes.com/stlouis/aerial-erotica/Content?oid=2456468 This also means the tour had dates in Richmond and Charlotte that I haven't found dates for.

Given the fact that this tour had a constantly rotating cast of headlining acts, seemed to be booked in collaboration with other bands' tours, and wasn't routed in a way that would lend itself to the same lineup playing more than a couple shows in a row (I also doubt they just managed to get bands like Spoon and Modest Mouse on short notice to cover for BOW getting kicked off the tour), I feel like BOW was only ever going to be on the tour for a week at most, and it's entirely possible that the Albuquerque and Grand Rapids shows were the only ones they were ever booked for in the first place.

Sean's whole "getting kicked off an entire tour" story was most likely just a big ol' rockstar-level exaggeration for the sake of having a cool story.

Wow. Great discovery about the tour. I think everything you said here is correct about BOW only likely being booked for like a week of the tour. They got kicked off the tour the first night that they played on the tour in NM and that was it. Grand Rapids date is also likely cancelled. And I agree about what Sean said, has to be an exaggeration.
