This is really really cool. The digital marketing for this band has always been so good, it’s almost surreal to see them bringing back puzzles and everything like the good old days.

I think speculation is a dangerous road when it comes to something like this, and I don’t think any of us should take speculation or assumptions as something akin to truth. There are any number of factors that go into things like depression. With that said, the OML reaction (at least the online one) is 100% the elephant in the room as said above. We cannot say that it was the “cause” or anything like that, but we also can’t ignore it. Anyone who follows the band, watches the videos, attended or watched or listened to live recordings, we all knew how Chester was, and he always very hard on himself. Sean is absolutely correct here, it wouldn’t matter that OML was a number one album, Heavy was a huge single in plenty of places, the band was playing the biggest shows of their entire careers and selling out Europe, adding shows to the UK, selling out South America, about to play stadiums in the US - you don’t see any of the positive stuff when you’re in that state of mind. You only see the negative. Chester was pretty active on social media, and as we all know, any kind of real online criticism (or even praise!) gets drowned out by the countless and tireless trolls and, as Sean says, people who have nothing better to do. All Chester is going to see are insults toward his music and even personal attacks. We know how bad it is online. Look at how people to react to movies or other innocent entertainment that they don’t like. So you have Chester seeing all of this and ignoring all of the positive stuff. He sees a few people booing Heavy at festivals and focuses on them instead of the thousands of people singing every word of all the new songs on tour. The OML songs were very personal, even by LP standards. Chester had just gone through one of the toughest periods in his life, 2015-2016, and all of the music has heavily influenced by that. He openly talks about this in 2017 interviews. He really really cared about the songs, maybe more than ever, and that’s saying something. So to have art that you just poured your heart and soul into, that you’re proud of and excited to share, and to have the reaction be - in your mind - people hating it and insulting you and your band mates and your entire career....that’s something that none of us can ever really understand or even comprehend. I remember back when Dead By Sunrise didn’t end up being as commercially successful as Chester hoped it would, and how he got on Twitter and asked if he had just made a bad record. That hurt. His art was always extremely personal for him, it was his life’s work, it was his passion. Again, we’ll never really know. There are too many things that go into things like this. He had to quit Stone Temple Pilots, had just lost close friends of his; just way too many things happened to him in way too short of a span of time. We’ll never actually know what he was thinking, and there are plenty of factors that we have no business knowing anyway. What we can take away from this realization is this: We can all be kinder, we can all show more empathy, and we all need to be more aware of the words we use and who we say them to. Reach out to your loved ones, be there for them, check in on them. And if you’re suffering, don’t be afraid to let others know. Don’t be ashamed of what bothers you and how it makes you feel. We can choose openness and kindness every time.

Fantastic interviews with everyone. I sadly can't say that I've been here since the very beginning (joined up during the 08 winter tour) but I think I've been here long enough to truly appreciate how much this site has changed and grown over the years. The fact that it's been around an entire decade is just crazy to think about. I've made some great friends here too, like Mark, Jonas, and Preston. Here's to many more years, many more shows, many more exclusives, many more album discussions, and all of that good stuff. A lot of us have gone on to other things and other bands but I love seeing everyone come back together once a new album starts to come around. I remember being just twelve years old and being elated that I had found a community who loved Linkin Park just as much as I did. I'm twenty-three now and for whatever reason I still love this band just as much and apparently so do plenty of other people. Thanks for tons of great memories LPLive. I'm looking forward to what the future holds.

These are the shows that really remind how great of a vocalist Chester actually is. This is much more his style based on his voice as opposed to most LP stuff. Stupidly talented singer. Great short interview here, really awesome that you were able to get him. Let's hope we see more of these shows in the future now that Chester's schedule is less full.

I like Remember the Name being in the set, everyone knows it and gets hyped about it. Welcome makes sense to promote the song, but it is unnecesary. I'm sure it won't be sticking around.

I usually always have a lot to say on this subject but everyone here has already bascially covered everything. Here are a couple of my thoughts. When the Hunting Party tour cycle began, I really loved the new sets. I still love the fact that these sets cover pretty much everything from their catalogue; all studio albums, remix albums, a couple rare tracks and even Fort Minor. Fantastic idea on the band's part to make a big cohesive show that covers so many songs. Here's what my issues are. They shorten songs so that they have more time for more songs. Play shortened versions to fit more songs in, I get that. And you have to play all the big singles that will forever be in the sets, those being One Step Closer, In The End, Numb, What I've Done, Burn It Down. Totally makes sense. But why not shorten those singles instead? The band seems tired of playing those tracks, so shorten them. The crowd still gets the songs they wanna see, and I doubt they'll care all too much if you just cut out a verse and chorus. Instead, they shorten real jams like Papercut and Runaway and Lost in the Echo. Completely backwards mentality to me. If they shortened the singles instead, that solves a lot of problems. It's great that they're playing rare tracks and stuff such as Robot Boy, but not if it means not playing anything off the new album. Yes, the crowd reaction to GATS was poor, but then maybe it should've been moved somewhere else in the set, like the beginning of the encore. It should not have just been dropped completely. If you're worried about playing new songs because you think the audience won't really react to it, then make it fun for them. Get them involved. Chester goes for it in ALITS with getting the crowd to do the "heys" and all that. Tell them to jump for Rebellion, tell them to start pits for Keys or All For Nothing. Do something instead of just going through the motions. I think there is zero excuse for not playing the Hunting Party songs that they haven't yet, and especially no excuse for dropping the ones they were playing. I think all the new songs sounded great live.

He said the exact same thing when he messed up his back a couple years ago. He said he would never jump off shit again. This guy isn't calling it quits any time soon. He was absolutely EXPLODING at Rock on the Range. In no way can you tell that he messed up his ankle recently. I think Chester absolutely brings it at almost every show, even if the crowd is sleeping. After watching and listening to sooooo many LP live shows, I often forget that he IS a really really great front man for a band. He's a maniac.

When the Living Things touring cycle ended and they had barely played any songs off of it I just assumed that we would get them on the next album cycle. When that didn't happen I thought maybe they weren't very proud of Living Things. I consider it to definitey be their weakest album. But they've been doing the exact same thing with The Hunting Party, which are all songs they said were meant to be played live (they also said the same thing about Living Things). I honestly have no clue why this is what's been happening in the sets. It's not just that they've not debuted new songs, but they've also immediately dropped some. The disappearance of Guilty All The Same and Final Masquerade is so strange to me, as they were two out of a measly three singles off of Hunting Party. Until It's Gone I think I can understand, even though it's a single it wasn't ever meant to be on the album anyway. The rest makes no sense to me. I don't get what's up.

Really REALLY love that new Papercut intro. ALITS was epic, they totally nailed it. Love Chester making the crowd do the "heys", that adds a great live element to it.
