The LP version is the Hybrid Theory album version of One Step Closer. It's no different than how there's a promo CD with both the original and Reanimation versions of My December on it. This CD has been ripped before, the mp3 of the Radio Edit is fairly common.

Yes, that's the Figure.09 demo. It's the same thing that's on the Making of Meteora DVD (same scene anyway, the DVD doesn't have the guitar solo part), and it says "FIGURE.09" right there on the screen just like it does with all the other demos. You can also tell it's the same beat. The website version of With You was probably the same thing as Now I See/the pre-final mix. The HT.com website was the only place the "stop the talk show" version of Points of Authority was released, it's not on any CD anywhere. So if the website version of With You was something different, we'd already know about it because it would be just as common as that version of POA. He was asking if you were joking because converting an mp3 to FLAC is just about the most pointless thing in the world. Converting a lossy format like mp3 to a lossless format like FLAC doesn't magically make it lossless. Lossy is lossy no matter what you do to it, and the quality of any file can only get worse, never better.

That wasn't a remix. It was just the album version with everything but the vocals, keyboards, and strings removed from it.

Are you preordering Road To Revolution? Nope. Will you be buying it when it comes out? Negative. What are your plans for the new CD/DVD? I'll download it when it leaks. I think they'll spend the remainder of this year writing, while Chester simultaneously finishes the DBS album. It shouldn't be too big of a distraction from LP for him since DBS is more or less finished already anyway. I can see DBS coming out in March followed by a short U.S. tour to support it. The rest of the guys can continue working on the LP album during this time, and by May/June I'd anticipate them being in full-blown recording mode. There's been a lot of talk about there being a Projekt Revolution next year (it's even advertised by KROQ and a contest on Ticketmaster), but it's way too far in advance to plan a whole tour, so I'd anticipate them doing a Projekt Revolution festival thing like they've talked about in the past, maybe one on each coast (New York and L.A.), plus maybe making a quick trip to Asia to make up the cancelled MFR dates. That could be their little escape from the studio during the summer, then they'd come back, finish the album, and have it out in the winter, either the very end of '09 or early '10.

Well, Paradise City is a no-brainer since it's a GNR song and Slash is playing it. He plays Highway to Hell pretty much flawlessly, and Whole Lotta Love is pretty good, although he trades sections of the solo back and forth with Joe Satriani, and Joe's guitar isn't turned up loud enough, so it doesn't sound right.

Wrong. Hybridtheory.com had 4 different songs up at different points, in 2-song groups. At one point it was Esaul/By Myself, at another point it was With You/Points of Authority. Pre-final mixes can not be considered demos, as they're nothing but unmixed versions of the final album versions. Now I See and Plaster are more or less the same thing, but they do have SOME musical differences. I don't think any of the clips you listed have much of a point in being mentioned either. They're either incomplete, or not available at all. It doesn't matter if we know it exists if we can't hear the whole thing. Gee, maybe that's because I hadn't been seeding for about 14 hours? Read the comments on Demonoid. I share a computer with 4 other people and can't leave torrents seeding 24/7.

Maybe I'm just a lot more critical of Chester's voice on LP performances, but I've always felt like he sings at his best when he's doing other people's songs. Whole Lotta Love is probably my favorite vocal performance he's ever done.

Chester is charismatic enough as a performer that I think he'll consciously try to find some way to make up for his lack of jumping in the future. I mean, while we're talking about NIN, Trent Reznor pretty much uses a mic stand on every song and doesn't do a whole lot of running around, but he has an incredibly intense, commanding stage presence anyway.

Converting to DVD is about 60% done. Good news though, I managed to get rid of the first portion that wasn't LP. The DVD is going to be substantially bigger than the single .VRO file (over 3 gigs as opposed to just under one), but .VOB is a lot more of a friendly filetype than .VRO is, so it'll be worth it.

.VRO is a pretty ugly file type, I'm converting it over to actual DVD format right now. Also, the taper started their DVR/whatever they recorded with early, so about the first 10 minutes isn't LP. I'm gonna try to split that part off.

I'm downloading the video right now, I asked YiLong to not post the link solely because it'd just slow things down for everybody if a bunch of people jumped on and started downloading it at the same time. I'll torrent it as soon as I finish downloading it, don't worry. And I THINK this is a DVD-quality rip, or at least high quality MPG or something like that. It's 883 MB, and that's in a .zip file.

Pushing Me Away (Piano) ---- 20. Numb/Encore 21. Jigga What/Faint This essentially confirms that Wake 2.0 WILL be on the DVD, as the other 3 missing songs weren't shown, but that one was. Also, I'm pretty sure this is the final edit for the DVD, because the video clip of LOATR in this is the same one that was already posted. So as far as the DVD goes, it should essentially be the same thing as the TV broadcast, just with 6 more songs (all of the above except for SIB, Papercut, and POA). Also, I ripped the .FLV's from Youtube. I know they're pretty crappy quality, but they're better than nothing. If the uploader doesn't wind up sharing the original files, I'll post them.

That's not what a concept album is AT ALL. A unifying theme does not mean all the songs will sound the same. Look at Hands Held High and No More Sorrow, those 2 songs deal with essentially the same subject matter, and they're musically as different as night and day.
