ATS and Reanimation.

I always wonder why we got the instrumental from the Itunes version of SOTD instead of the original version, i mean its kinda weird that in a promo cd the instrumental of a song is from a streaming service and not from the album
Yeah, always seemed weird to me, kina how OSC isn't the album version but the Rock Band multitrack version.

I heard multiple times that when something very rare like that "leaks" it's usually fake, but I don't see LPCatalog lying here, they're definitely 100% legit, we all know as an example how hard they used a lot of Reanimation instrumental tracks on LPTV's, bts stuff, etc, especially X-Ecutioner Style, so those actually exist.
-
LPCatalog has added the acapella versions of The Requiem & The Radiance, and the instrumental albums of Post Traumatic, Reanimation and A Thousand Suns.

Meteora and HT had heavier moments than anything on THP.
Given Up is still probably heavier than most songs of HT/T, I could even include THP itself.
-
I didn't know this was a thing until last year. It's not directly related to LP but, as we all know, Mike, along with Joe Trapanese, made the original soundtrack for the movie, which I still can't get over how good it is. It wasn't released in 2012 as the original soundtrack, but instead 3 years later.
Anyone knows what it sounds like? https://mondotees.com/products/copy-of-the-new-york-ripper-original-motion-picture-soundtrack-lp?variant=1635191427 (it sould out a while ago here, but you can still get it in other places too).
-
That's incredible, thank you so much. Any chance of also uploading DVD stuff? I downloaded the Roxy Theatre MP3 but it would be nice to have the DVD files too.
-
This is the sound I expected LP to deliver on THP, but oh well…
Chester's best vocal track of the last years!
It has a similar vibe (along with Dead By Sunrise), funny hearing that it wasn't heavy enough for certain people.
Tastes aside, it's a fucking great track, either screaming or singing ballads, Chester could do it.

KROQ livestream mixes never disappoint. How can they consistently be that bad? Is there a single KROQ show with a good mix?
Since around KROQ 07 they haven't bothered to fix it. Why does the remasters from 01 and 03 sound so freaking good compared to the "professional" mixing? Who's in charge? It's really annoying.

As a whole, is the impression really that if you have a negative opinion of LP/LP related music that you will get slaughtered by the LP fan base? I never see that happening unless the negative opinion is full of personal insults, a la Gekis reviews of anything after MTM.
I also dont know where multiple people are getting the imprsssion that Mike is more upset about his career than losing Chester. Do you think every time he talks about Chester, its just a business thing for his own career? I mean, Jesus, yall act like LP and WB looked at Chester as a dollar sign that could sing.
Gekis was a troll that changed his mind all the time. Who said here we bash people who have different opinions? He was just trolling all the f*cking time, not even trying to be consistent, he was banned because he was annoying, and it seems he was very annoying on LPA too.

I agree, the LT tour cicle was probably the only REALLY good thing from that, VICTIMIZED/QWERTY was something truly fucking amazing to remember. Short and sweet.
-
Lyrically? Hell no. You might not like Living Things but the lyrics were definitely personal on a lot of the songs. LITE, IMR, BID, IBG, COG, RU, Powerless? Even LGM and Victimized probably came from an angry place, I remember Chester said during an interview around the time that the album came out that they came from a place within. I wasn’t saying THP wasn’t good or it was a bad album, I was saying that it had the most uninspired lyrics IMO. Aside from Final Masquerade, like HybridXero said.
Disagree, LT was the weakest one. Production wasn't nowhere to be "good", as I said, with a few exceptions. Rubin worked fine on MTM & ATS, I don't know what the hell happened there, never truly liked that album.
-
I agree 100% that's why THP is probably my least favorite album, The only song that seemed really personal was Final Masquerade.
LIVING THINGS might be a "better" option for that, it's the shortest album of them all after OML, and it felt rushed for the most part, with a few exceptions. It's likely the least favorite album to me.
Aside for that matter, I'm enjoying both new songs, PYW is great.

They havent been to Greece in years.... they came only back in 2008 and 2009 when i was 9 and 10 years old. they were my fav band but had no one to take me to the concert. Now LP has been my fav band for 10 years and still hadnt have the chance to see them (or Mike) live. Was really hoping that now that he has gone solo he would also tour in smaller countries like Greece. I'm a huge fan of the band and really need to see a live show. It's a dream goal to me. I'm thinking of going to the Paris show since I got a friend living there, hope I will make it happen
They played here (Spain) last year, they've been here only 5 times in over 15 years (2001, 2003, 2008, 2010 & 2017) and I don't see Mike coming to play because I rarely hear Mike's songs in the radio, sadly. So.. hopefully Greece and other places will have more chances.

Man...all these negative comments about Germany...Seriously, I would like to see other countries (South west europe, South east europe and eastern europe) getting the same love as we get here but almost hating a country for having a large fan base is undescribale
Hating? Germany always gets spoiled, I get it, it's not only an important place for Warner, but also a place with a lot of fan support. I could say the same for other countries but hey, I'm no manager or booker, I'm just a fan that wants to see people happy, especially countried that have never seen anything LP related being played live.

So far there is no plan for Brazil. But I hope that change by next year
Brazil isn't the only country in South America, and besides, he will go there eventually.
-
Man, what about Portugal? C'mon, Mike!
No Portugal, Spain, Greece, Romania... yeah.
-
It sounds exactly like the same demo heard on the making of MTM. So 2 No Roads Left and 2 TLTGYA. Nice.
-
So pretty much the same dates as the previous european tour?
Shame. Maybe he will add more dates, but right now this looks weak. I hope Asia/AU/NZ doesn't get the same treatment.
-
To be honest, it's a little annoying that this is coming out just a couple of months after the standard edition vinyl. I'd rather the standard edition have not come out at all if this was in the works.
Did it come out on vinyl too? Completely forgot about it, that sucks. A bit greedy for their part.
-
He should go to places he rarely went solo or with the band, and of course places he has never went to. Later maybe do more Europe dates on countries like Spain or Greece, Asia, and of course South America, he will probably go there first next year. I just want him to do as many shows as possible everywhere, not just the casual cities.

There's any way to watch and listen to the EP without, having apple music?
There's something called YouTube that people use to upload pretty much everything when it comes out/leaks. I use iTunes but I will give a listen first to see if I dig the mixing, which I guess it's the same people from LP's shows.
-
Road to Revolution too.
Technically The Hunting Party CD/DVD special edition or whatever it was called it, it included the MTV Monterrey show from 2012, which it was useless (I think this or LT included the Berlin 2012 show aswell, Rock in Rio 2012 too). If only included an actual live video perfomance from Download 2014, but I guess they were too lazy to film a proper live show not directly ripped from a broadcast like RTR or Live in Texas.
-
Knowing Apple always released EP's with LP, not surprised here, but still, I would've wished for a bigger list. Hopefully next year we will have Acapellas/Instrumentals from PT and a proper full live album aswell.

Yes. Both ATS and Reanimation (the only 2 left) instrumental albums do exists, it's a matter of time before they "leak".
