Mike Shinoda Appearance In Mythical Kitchen's "Last Meals"
Hybrid1988 replied to martinez's topic in Newswire
It’s easy to forget how local my favorite band is until Mike drops Dan’s Subs into an interview. I used to work at a place nearby that catered them all the time. I knew right away where that sandwich was from based on the foil before they even mentioned it hahaha. I Must’ve eaten like 100 of those sandwiches. -
That song is my white whale. I have seen every HT song live in some form except for this. Would be a real treat to finally check this one off of the list.

I like Alex style. -
Probably not as controversial opinion as I originally thought but here it is anyway: I think Alex is an improvement over Brad in terms of energy and stage presence. I am not a musician at all so my opinion on this is purely from a listener standpoint and what sounds good to me, but I feel like his playing is also tighter and more consistent. I've been to the launch show and the Forum show in LA and also watched a lot of videos of the tour and I think he nails pretty much everything. He changed the KTTK solo which stood out but it didn't sound awful. My crazy hot take is that I hope LP builds a strong connection with him and allows him to join them in the studio. Also down for him to join the band as a permanent addition. I would be very interested to hear what he brings to the table with new material. I know it's not really a trend for touring members to join big bands like this on a full-time basis but I think it would really add to the live show to have him involved in the entire process. His passion for guitar is evident and that's not really something we've seen with Brad for a while now. He say's it himself, he plays piano more when he's home. I think someone who's fully committed to guitar as a primary instrument would be a great addition.

Hybrid Theory (nostalgia will ensure this never gets knocked off it's throne) A Thousand Suns Meteora Minutes to Midnight The Hunting Party From Zero Living Things One More Light

Easily better than OML for me. I actually might put it above Living Things. Time will tell. So far there are less skips on this album than LT.

Got my tickets for the dodger stadium show! Right behind the lpu pit. Going to be a legendary show.

Banger song. Great simple video showcasing the energy of the song and the band members front and center. Really cool that it's the same soundstage and setup as the announcement show!

No more venue teases -
Standout tracks for me based on a first listen: Casualty (I’ll always be in the minority that loves when LP goes balls to the wall aggressive), Two Faced, Stained, Overflow, IGYEIH. Overall, a really solid album that sits right in the middle of the discography for me. Definitely better than OML (which is all I was wanting) and I might even put it over Living Things to be honest. It’s got a lot of the signature LP sound while still having elements or a couple of songs that change things up and expand their catalog.

2024.11.03 - Nanterre, France (Paris La Défense Arena)

Agree with all points here. wish the guitars had more punch on the album version. They sound great live and give the song more energy. -
I’ll be at the Burbank listening party. Super close to me. I’m really looking forward to continuing the tradition of listening to the new album early with other fans. So glad they have expanded this experience so many others can participate!

W take. I’ve believed this for years.

Ooo, maybe we will have one at Warner LA too

I'd like an EP for 2025. Big fan of bands who release music every year or so by just dropping EP's. Spiritbox and a lot of the newer metalcore bands are great at this. There's never a shortage of music, there's very little (if any at all) filler and they always have fresh material to play on tour. Long album cycles seem to only benefit the biggest bands like LP. I think it would be great for them to try going that route and keep the momentum going for this new era. I am very hungry for new material with Colin and Emily. I want to see how their contributions help shape LP's sound over time.

Not a huge fan of the design. Doesn't really tie into the artwork aside from the lp logo

The Emptiness Machine > HITC >>> Over Each Other. Hope the rest of the album is more like Emptiness Machine. That song is so good. It’s everything I want from an LP song. Huge production, super catchy hook, high energy, satisfying conclusion.

https://x.com/youbetterhearme This is how they launched Lies Greed Misery back during the LT cycle. It was a scavenger hunt that ended with the radio premiere. At the 9/5 launch show, fans were given a numbered card with a QR code that linked to this account. All speculation so far but it seems the account will become active again at some point.

Dead By Sunrise 15th Anniversary Interview - Ryan Shuck & Amir Derakh
Hybrid1988 replied to LPLStaff's topic in Newswire
Really great job with this one. Loved how open and honest Ryan and Amir were with their thoughts. I hope some rock press pick this up and circulate it because there’s a lot of quotes about the state of LP, DBS, and all things Chester that people should hear. Chester wanted his music to live on and I trust his best friends who by all accounts have always done right by the Chester and the fans over pissy internet “fans” and “family”who do nothing but criticize and spin everything in negative and unhealthy ways. -
Going to guess this is going to be the more mainstream crossover single for the album (e.g.in the end, numb, LOATR). Interested to hear how it sounds! wonder if the release for this is going to tie into that Allan twitter account. Another scavenger hunt to launch the song?

Linkin Park Adding New Music to November Concerts
Hybrid1988 replied to LPLStaff's topic in Newswire
LOATR 2017 smokes the medley. I think Lost/My December are better as being the cooldown songs of the show. I’m heavily biased though as I saw the band a ton when they were playing the medley. I got tired of that one.
