My, what a nice tour that just took place for Linkin Park. I can't recall any 9 show run ever having this much happen in terms of the band changing things up and doing special things on stage. To save space (or face? lol) I'll just run through everything the band has done in 9 shows in Australia. Starting the tour off in Brisbane (show page here), the band played the exact same setlist at the first three shows. So why in the world did I call this a "great" tour? Well, in Newcastle (show page here), they brought up ole Pez to play guitar on 'Faint'. This followed Chris being pulled up in Birmingham, UK for 'Crawling' and the two guys at the LPU Summit in London playing 'Faint'. In Burswood (show page here), Monty was called up to play 'Faint' as well. On the 9th in Adelaide (show page here), something must have struck LP since they debuted a brand new setlist. It really was a combination of the London night 2 new setlist and the regular "A Thousand Suns" Tour setlist, but hey, any change is welcome! 'Crawling' and 'New Divide'/'Faint' (2009 epic encore, anyone?) were stuck in the encore and 'The Radiance' went into 'Leave Out All The Rest' (lol). To top that off, a fan was brought on stage to play guitar on 'Faint' then as well. At show number one in Melbourne (show page here), we got my personal favorite 'Reading My Eyes' (!!!) thrown over the intro of 'Bleed It Out'. 'High Voltage' was requested at the M&G instead but hey, I'll take 'Reading My Eyes' any day! So besides fans playing guitar on 'Faint' and a new changed up setlist, nothing really happened until show number SIX (of 9, by the way) of the tour, which happened to be night number two in Melbourne (show page here)! After fans had reported hearing both of them being soundchecked at almost every show of the tour (even 5-6 times in Brisbane!), the heavily requested 'Blackout' and 'Burning In The Skies' made their live debuts! 'Blackout' had a mighty strong reception from fans since it ended up coming off strong live, but 'Burning In The Skies' in the eyes of many fans needs a bit more work. No worry though, as I'm sure the song will be good to go after a few shows on the 2011 tour. Thanks to whoever convinced the band at the Melbourne M&G to play them! What else is cool is that Rob brought his drum solo on 'Bleed It Out' back. Now that sure was random but definitely cool! The next show was on the 15th for night number two in Sydney (show page here). The lucky man Pez found his way up on stage AGAIN for the SECOND time on the tour to play 'Faint' while his brother Brad played bass on the song for the first time ever by a fan. Wow! The LPU Summit (hey, almost forgot about that) took place at that show and featured 'The Little Things Give You Away' and 'The Messenger' played acoustically. While there was no soundcheck for the fans at this Summit (darn!), I still think it was a pretty cool Summit. An interesting note is that 'Points Of Authority' didn't make any appearances on this run of shows but 'From The Inside' was played many times (Chester even brought his intro scream back, doing it longer than most 2009 shows). The Australian DSPs can be discussed here. Perth has a messed up cover image (corrupted) so you can find the FIXED one right here. Our 2010 setlist pages courtesy of Astat are coming soon, and we'll link up the 'Faint' (& 'Crawling') on stage guitar playing experiences to that as well. One last thing... we're still missing TICKET STUBS, PICTURES, wristbands, LPU Summit passes, setlists, EVERYTHING from Australia. Just take a look at how empty the show pages are for Australia! So if you went to these shows and have any of those things listed above, get 'em to us! Attach them in a reply to this post, email them to siteadmin@lplive.net, email them to me...anything. We'd love to get them and load up the show pages with really cool stuff. We take anything and everything so now is a great time since the tour is over to send your stuff in! Thanks! /tourrecap. So I think that SHOULD cover it for Australia and if I missed anything, feel free to add it in a comment. What did you guys think of the tour? Although we didn't get any Jay-Z collaborations with the band, I still think it was a great tour. LP rarely debuts songs like that in the middle of a tour...sweet huh? Did you guys like the Australian Tour? Who's ready for North America in 2011? Post your favorite videos from the tour, your favorite moments, your favorite SHOW....discuss!

NoBrain won the Catalyst remix contest and added some stuff to the studio version of WTCFM in the outro. But I don't know what's different about WTCFM studio versus live version that would make them add that note. I don't understand either :/ -

QFT. World Tour is kicking ass. LP is rocking. I'm glad we're getting DSPs for all the shows! BITS/Blackout debut on this tour along with that new setlist have been NICE. They could have done the same set for all Aussie shows but they swapped it up pretty nicely. -
Linkin Park ends their 2010 Australian Tour today in Canberra, Australia at the AIS Arena. The band has never performed in Canberra before, and this show was actually the most recently added show to the tour, being added only several weeks ago. On this tour, the band has played several different setlists (debuting a new one entirely) and debuted several new songs off of "A Thousand Suns": 'Burning In The Skies' and 'Blackout'. Which one of these debuts was your favorite? Here's a video of 'Blackout' from Sydney last night with Chester talking about the crowd beforehand: Any expectations for the last show? It seems Jay-Z never made that special guest appearance we were all hoping for, but oh well, maybe in 2011! Or....the band could grab him for tonight? Haha. The band kicks off the North American Tour in Sunrise, FL (see you guys then!) on January 20, 2011 for the first run of shows in the new year. Who's going to Canberra? Last show of the tour guys! Australian Tour recap post coming shortly! And some interviews to keep us tamed until the North American Tour as well....stay tuned! DSP's for this tour should be rolling out shortly. It sucks this is the last preshow post for 2010, but there's PLENTY more to come just next month! What have you guys thought about the tour up until this point? Pleased? Not happy? Let us hear it! EDIT: kurtis912 is providing setlist updates via Twitter here. SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches & Kings 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. What I've Done 06. No More Sorrow 07. Check out Chester and Mike performing 'The Little Things Give You Away' acoustic. Before they play it, they talk about how they like fans to sing with them and after the first song, Chester takes the guitar to play' The Messenger' by himself. Nice! So now we've had performances of 'The Little Things Give You Away', 'Leave Out All The Rest' and two different ones of 'The Messenger' (well, Brad plays guitar on one and Chester plays it on the other) at the two LPU Summits! What songs would you like to see performed acoustically by LP? Any predictions for the next Summit in Chicago?

We count Radiance as a song in the middle of the set even though LP doesn't list it. That set has 24. Go through all the sets, not every show in 2010 has the same number lol. I sure hope Jay-Z comes out. -

lol @ Mike. I already edited it and you edited it on top of that Same timing almost though. Fixed it up. Great, great set. If I could add anything it'd be APFMH and would go down as one of the best sets LP has ever played. -
Well holy damn they played Blackout. NICE debut. I thought the song would be a total disaster live, and what do you know, Chester did really well. The band nailed it in my opinion. The intro is so haunting, especially live (love the clapping of the hands), the lighting is wicked. The bridge gets nasty as hell, Joe pressing samples all over the place, Chester smashing the drums, Mike and Phoenix headbanging a bit. No Brad to be found anywhere at first but when he comes in he's jamming on drums. This is a GREAT track. I hope they keep this shit in for 2011, I'd love to see this baby opening a setlist. Mike sounds great, the second half is rocking. The shades on him in the spotlight = A+. LOVE the debut. Couldn't be any better whatsoever from me. Song sounds very nice and is much more energetic than a LOT of LP live debuts. So I have no idea why so many people are bitching. I was waiting for this one to be played...I really didn't think they'd do this one until maybe the very last tour for ATS but I'm very glad they added it in in Australia. BITS was good. I like the very beginning sample. I was kind of confused as to how they were going to start it but this is a good way in my opinion. Mike of course is going to be shaky on vocals on a song like this for the first time played but hopefully he'll progress to the point where it's rocking. Pooch or whoever should lower Chester's mic volume so he isn't so loud (I also HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE the loud double vox on WFTE live). I was very surprised to see Mike playing guitar on the solo. The song needs a bit more practice...I can't pick out exactly what sounds off to me but I still like it and I'm glad it was added in. More additions always is good lol. Now there's no excuse to not have three rotating setlists for the USA tour. I like them randomly adding in songs in the middle of a tour, lol that was almost nonexistant before for LP. In the last few years at least in my opinion, it's pretty rare for LP to do that. I can't wait to see these songs live. I'm REALLY glad Iridescent is rotating with BITS at this point. But case in point, Blackout is just nasty as it gets. It needs to open a show immediately, into like Papercut or FTI. Extend the synth intro a lot and make it just haunting as can be with epic NMS intro lights and all sorts of production shit and you'll have a SWEET opening track for a setlist. Melbourne night 2 setlist is the best I have seen from Linkin in years. Absolutely awesome. VERY VERY happy with LP at the moment.

Setlist from Melbourne 2 is one of the best ones they have had in a LONG time. AWESOME SET. I hope they keep that. USA tour will get BITS, Iridescent, Blackout, WTCFM, Catalyst, Messenger, WFTE, and WAK. All the good ATS stuff! Robot Boy might follow but it wouldn't surprise me if they saved it for later on in the touring cycle. The USA tour should get Valentine's Day and/or My December. -
LP's next show of the tour is tonight in Melbourne for their second show at the Rod Laver Arena this tour! This is their third-to-last show of 2010. Since all of the Melbourne preshow info was in the night 1 post.... here's what I have to say.... Mike was asked to do 'High Voltage' over 'Bleed It Out' at the LPU M&G but instead he said it wouldn't fit and did 'Reading My Eyes' over the beginning. Next, since we only have three shows left, will Jay-Z make an appearance at all? Maybe at the next show in Sydney in a few days? Will the band break out 'Burning In The Skies' this tour? Or 'Points Of Authority'? Will that "new" set from Adelaide get played tonight for Melbourne's night 2? What do you think? Who's going?! Setlist: 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches & Kings 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. What I've Done 06. No More Sorrow 07. From The Inside 08. Jornada Del Muerto 09. Waiting For The End 10. Blackout 11. Numb 12. The Radiance 13. Burning In The Skies 14. Fallout 15. The Catalyst 16. Shadow Of The Day 17. In The End 18. Bleed It Out ('A Place For My Head' over the bridge, followed by drum solo, singalong and ext. outro) Encore: 19. Empty Spaces 20. When They Come For Me 21. Crawling 22. New Divide 23. Faint 24. Linkin Park plays their next show of the "A Thousand Suns" World Tour in Melbourne, Australia at Rod Laver Arena on the 12th. For the second time (the first being in 2007), the band is playing back-to-back shows there. The first appearance by LP in Melbourne came in 2001 (show page here). Although it was likely (but not confirmed) that they did an encore break at the show before that (in Sydney), that was the first confirmed show where LP had an encore break. They played Rod Laver Arena in 2003 for the Livid Festival (no show page) and did two shows there like I said in 2007 (show pages here and here). At that second show, Chester jumped off the top of the stage on 'Papercut' and broke his wrist! Check the DSP of the show for the full situation on that. Here's a video... This is the 6th show of the tour. So far, 5 shows have had the exact same setlist with only Adelaide having a different one. What do you think we'll get tonight? It seems the band is very unpredictable on this tour....I'd be interested to hear what you all think about the setlists for the rest of the Australian Tour. Jay-Z in Sydney (night 2) anyone? Who's going to Melbourne? Anyone want to play 'Faint' on guitar? SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches And Kings 03. Papercut 04. Given Up 05. New Divide 06. Faint 07. Empty Spaces 08. When They Come For Me 09. No More Sorrow 10. Jornada Del Muerto 11. Waiting For The End 12. Wisdom, Justice, And Love 13. Iridescent 14. Numb 15. The Radiance (Live Version) 16. Breaking The Habit 17. Shadow Of The Day 18. Crawling 19. One Step Closer ---------------------- 20. Fallout 21. The Catalyst 22. The Messenger 23. In The End 24. What I've Done 25. Bleed It Out ('Reading My Eyes' over intro, 'Burning In The Skies' over bridge)

Good ole Dmitry (aka Sotrix), who has hosted this site essentially for the good of the community since we started building it back in late 2005 is celebrating a birthday today! Join me in wishing him a Happy Birthday! He is one of the most generous people I know and is always willing to take time for LPLive. I remember texting him at odd times in the very early hours of the morning when the site was down and he was always on top of it, getting it fixed immediately. I can count on one hand how many times our site has had hosting "problems" (aka going offline) in 5 years and I'll tell you what, it's not very many at all. Thanks Dmitry! Happy Birthday!

Sydney, Linkin Park is playing for you tonight! The band will play their first show at the Acer Arena of the tour....with a second show coming on the 15th with the LPU Summit! An interesting note is that this is the first headlining Linkin Park show where the band has played a venue in the middle of the tour and then comes back LATER after several other shows to play it again. This is their first time playing two venues on the same tour where it's not a back-to-back run of shows! Sweet! LP has played Sydney a total of four times before today, so this is their fifth appearance there at their fourth different venue. In 2001, they played the Enmore Theatre (show page here) where the fans actually broke the floor of the venue on 'In The End'! The band mentioned this in many interviews over the years and even at the 2007 shows in Sydney. In 2003 (no show page) they played at Moore Park for the Livid Festival for a short run of several shows down under. They returned in full force in 2007, playing back-to-back shows at the Sydney Entertainment Centre for the third-to-last and second-to-last shows of that tour (show pages here and here). We've had four shows so far on this tour.... the first 3 had the exact same setlist but the last show in Adelaide (show page here) featured a "new" setlist for the band. They didn't debut anything different but mainly just changed the order of songs with a collaboration of the main setlist they've been playing and that new London night 2 setlist. It was the first time that 'Crawling' appeared in the encore since September 2004! 'Burning In The Skies' was rumored to be on the setlist for the last show (no official confirmation on that yet), so do you think we'll see it tonight? Do you think the band will play it during this tour? At the last show's M&G, it was said that Brad is the one that is holding the band up in playing it....hmmm! What setlist do you think we'll see tonight? Who's going tonight? Does anyone have a M&G? Anyone thinking about playing 'Faint' on guitar? Everyone cool with the fact the band is bringing up fans to play 'Faint' now like they did back on the Meteora World Tour in 2004? Badass, right? Read Lewis's experience of playing 'Faint' at the LAST show during the tour HERE. The DSP's for this tour should start arriving very shortly as well. Here's a video of 'Faint' from Adelaide with good ole Lewis rocking out up there! Our newest contributor on the site, "Narc85", has been updating Twitter with the setlist of each show so far! See that here. Follow along! Sydney night 1! Let's go! SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches And Kings 03. Papercut 04. Given Up 05. New Divide 06. Faint 07. Empty Spaces 08. When They Come For Me 09. No More Sorrow 10. Jornada Del Muerto 11. Waiting For The End 12. Wisdom, Justice, And Love 13. Iridescent 14. Numb 15. The Radiance (Live Version) 16. Bleed It Out ('Burning In The Skies' over bridge)

lol I knew this would be a total joke. Glad we got the full HD source!

Is it confirmed that BITS was on the setlist? Or should we wait for the setlist pic from the DSP before we add it to the show page?

Sweet! Hope the demons get them!

Too many people bitching about it IMO.

Linkin Park plays their fourth show of the Australian Tour in Hindmarsh (aka Adelaide) at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on the 9th. This is show number 4 of 9 left for the band this year. Linkin Park last played at this venue in 2007 on the Australia / New Zealand Tour that year (show page here). At that show, Mike's guitar tech Kurt played Chester's guitar on 'Shadow Of The Day' due to Chester having a broken wrist. The first three shows of the Australian Tour have had the exact same setlist, interestingly enough. What also is worth noting is that we've had reports from the first two shows in Boondall and Newcastle that the band was soundchecking at least parts of 'Burning In The Skies' and 'Blackout'. Now, this brings up several questions. Do you think we'll get either of those songs on this tour, or do you think the band will wait and play them in North America next year? Do you still think it's possible for Jay-Z to make an appearance on this tour? Maybe Sydney night 2? Is anyone else waiting for them to break out 'Points Of Authority' in 2010? We all know it was on the setlist for London night 2, but was replaced with 'No More Sorrow' during the actual show. Will that come before the 2011 shows? Will the band play that other setlist that starts with 'Fallout' and 'The Catalyst' on this tour? Maybe at the second nights in Melbourne and Sydney? What do you all think? So who's going to Adelaide/Hindmarsh? M&G for any of you? Anyone from LPLive wanting to play 'Faint' on guitar again, haha? After a day off, the Sydney show comes on the 11th, so stay tuned! SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Wretches & Kings 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. What I've Done 06. No More Sorrow 07. From The Inside 08. Jornada Del Muerto 09. Waiting For The End 10. Tidied up the post, now on to the next preshow post! Can't wait to see the full lineup of shows in Europe in 2011....the Euro tours are always really cool to follow. I hope since they are playing festivals though that we'll get DSPs!!!!
