  2. I think this is actually something that will happen. A Time Capsule type of thing but for DBS. Talinda, WBR, Julien-K, LP, etc are all on board with releasing Chester's stuff over time. I think since JK broke ground being the first to do it with CB on JK songs, that this could happen. It's WBR's to deal with, yeah, but I bet they work it out on this.
  3. In a new interview with Alternative Revolution, Ryan Shuck of Julien-K and Dead By Sunrise mentions that the band plans to release one of the first Dead By Sunrise performances ever - on video. On July 4th, 2009, DBS played acoustically in Las Vegas for an intimate crowd at the Steve Wyrick Theatre. Fans might know this show for the released versions of 'Morning After' for the LPU and 'Let Down' as a digital single. However, 'Crawl Back In', 'Walking In Circles', and 'In The Darkness' were also performed. AR: "One disc on this project are the “Live & Acoustic” songs. How is it performing these songs acoustically compared to with full band arrangements? Your songs on your studio albums seem to have a lot more to them than an acoustic setting performance. I imagine it would be very different from your full band arrangement performances. How do your fans react to your acoustic performances?" Ryan: "We discovered after touring acoustically with Chester and in Dead By Sunrise acoustically that…….Actually our first live show…..at some point we are going to release the actual video. We have it all recorded, so no one knows that. But we don’t know. We are not trying to make money by it by throwing out all this material. There are lots of materials to consider what we want. This is all our friends. There are a lot of things to consider about when to release it. We have to put out things when it will make our fans happy. But it turned out so fucking good when we played acoustically. We never even played our music live before for an audience and we played acoustically in Vegas for a Club Tattoo event. And we filled out an auditorium and it was so good that Chester looked at all of us and was like “Why don’t we just do this acoustic show? This is way cooler” and our fans loved it. After being kind of an electronic big kind of band for a long time, I think we discovered there is a whole other side to present our music. We started saying yes to events that were acoustic and a lot of it was special stuff with Chester where we would play a couple of Julien K songs and then a couple of Dead By Sunrise songs, and a Linkin Park song. That actually happened." What seems possible is some sort of Dead By Sunrise compilation, with unreleased demos, live videos, backstage footage, rehearsals, and more one day. Whatever the band decides to do, we'd love to see it. Julien-K has already released two songs since July featuring Chester, from their Stars Of The Season 2011 show - I'll Try Not To Destroy You and Palm Springs Reset on the Julien-K Time Capsule release.
  4. This one really makes me mad. You can tell which ones have respectful questions and which ones are disrespectful. He mentions the Trump thing, almost gets shut down by LP mgmt, and Mike handles it well. The guy clearly only wanted a talking point about "MIKE SHINODA SAYS ________ ABOUT DONALD TRUMP" and you can tell because he includes "Donald Trump" in his fucking video description. The very end - "how long does it take the band to get in shape?" AFTER he is already told "last question" a few questions before that... get outta here. Mike is thrown off by it and it's rude. The comments destroy the guy.
  5. I couldn't agree more. He is in such great shape and the interviewer just starts talking about random shit to start which is a lot of fun. Puts Chester and Mike in a great mood. They are a great interview team. The interviewer later said the mgmt team in there made him stop at the end of this video because CB was getting too dark. They are basically like the moderators if something is going wrong or awry. The one where Mike is in Toronto recently and the dude asked about Trump or whatever, you can hear the team on the side saying no to that one lol. Then Mike said fuck it I'll answer it anyway. Chester fucking jams in this interview. Then he gets SUPER dark and honest. And what else is great is that usually interviews are 10~ mins with LP on tour. This one is a full fucking 40+ minutes. I could watch CB and MS do joint interviews all day. They know each other so well... Mike is always complimenting Chester and saying such nice things about him; Chester did the same for Mike. Best duo around. At one point like 20 something minutes in, Chester is going down a bad path talking about his awful 2016. Bam, Mike grabs the mic and just goes on with compliment after compliment about him. Says some super nice stuff. I really love it.
  6. We really need the full album instrumentals and acapellas.... dying to hear the About You instrumental.
  7. Awesome day. The Meetup had like 20 or so folks and we got to see so many good friends at this one. Like all of the LPLive crew was in the same row for the show which made for a great time. We totally have to do that in the future. Nick, Dmitry, Corey, Dylan, Eric, etc all right in the same row. What a group. Show was great - Mike did really good. Watching As I Fall was a nice surprise. This was the most emotional show Ive seen from him yet, it was the exact opposite of NYC in terms of emotions. He even had that Instagram post after the show. He went super hard on the Over Again verse and then after Papercut he took a break and said he went to a really dark place and that the fans brought him back. I think Papercut with CB in his In Ear Monitors is hard for him. I also think that being a venue where LP shows up, kicks ass, takes names and makes great memories at (shoutout to the LPU Summit there), and hes opening the show at 7pm made it emotional for him. In the End was like, 15k people standing in tears. Really intense, his largest show yet too. That ITE was easily the biggest moment of the entire festival show. Theres a feature at the show where you text things to the radio station and they show them on the video screens. After Mike played, for the rest of the night, 95%+ of them were about Chester. Like at one point it was 9 in a row. That in itself was really emotional to see, literally the screens showing all of these beautiful words about Chester for hours. You can really tell this city loves LP so, so much. People driving from Virginia and way up north for this, I mean wow. Imagine Dragons were so much better than I thought theyd be. Dan gave an incredibly intense speech about Chester after a few songs. He talked about Mike, signs in the pit for Chester (yeah, LP fans had signs in the pit and first few rows of seats the whole show about Chester and by the way those were the only signs all show), how Imagine Dragons wouldnt exist without Chester, etc. it was so nice. Mike watched the set on the side of the stage and Dan pointed him out; Dan watched Mike on the side of the stage too. It was an incredibly emotional speech with how sincere he was. Honestly the whole event had some sort of Hollywood Bowl vibe to it for me. LP fans everywhere, the set was intense, the other artists talked about Chester, hes on the video screens in the texts for hours, etc. Like some huge CB memorial event whether unintentional or not. And Im down with that, I like it all, its just hard to get through that.
  8. Headed over shortly. Cant wait.
  9. Camden! Mike will be performing on June 30th at Camdens BB&T Pavilion for the Radio 104.5 Birthday Show (part 2). This is the last show in a string of May and June promo performances for the album, wrapping up an east coast USA leg where Mike did several shows in New York City a week ago. At this show Mike will get around 40-45 mins of set time as he plays before Judah and the Lion and Imagine Dragons. He takes the stage at 6:45. This performance should see the KROQ set with a few added songs, likely Ghosts and Running From My Shadow... but we will see! Mike debuted I.O.U. in New York City and just before that debuted Make It Up As I Go too. Who is headed to Camden? The LPLive Fan Meetup is at 5:30 on the concourse by the water - come say hey to Mike/LP fans! After this show, Mike has about a month off before he plays the LoveLoud show out west with Imagine Dragons.
  10. Lip syncing is when you have recorded vocals in the PA mix on stage and nothing is coming out of your microphone. LP on Iridescent, WTCFM, TTM, etc have live vocals but also have some pre recorded studio stuff playing below it. It isnt lip syncing. Its just layering extra vocals. Mikes Show has a lot of it because he is still building his confidence as a frontman. This world tour is really neccesssry for him. His vocals are still live.
  11. This is by far the most LP sounding track on there, I agree. Sounds like it could be anywhere on the Living Things tracklist. Scratching, signature samples, LP melody, etc. I love this song.
  12. Of course Mike wants people to go. Just check the page. It was a simple mistake that they didn't tweet that one, they were doing press all week in NYC and were swamped. Looks like this is going to be the last time we see him solo in person. He's adding two members to the live show (not LP or anyone we know) after LoveLoud for Asia and Europe.
  13. Not Linkin Park but Mike solo stuff.
  14. Not allowed to share presale codes. LPU is $10, you get presales and M&G chances. Worth it.
  15. Sweden - Mike has added a show in Stockholm, Sweden on September 3rd, 2018. He will be performing at the Berns nightclub. This announcement comes almost one year exactly to the date of Linkin Park's last show in Sweden, where they headlined Norrköping's Bråvalla Festival. The LPU presale is on June 29th and the general sale begins on July 2nd.
  16. https://twitter.com/mikeshinoda/status/956601196290064384?lang=en I'm going to keep going by this.
  17. Joe did those. The crowd explodes for them LOL
  18. Yeah he basically says the album deadline is why Make It Up As I Go wasn't on One More Light. Just not enough time to develop it. He had to rewrite the rest of the song quite a few times to get it right (everything but the chorus). The funniest part of all of this is his talk he gave about timing. He gave this speech about writing all the time when he's doing this NYC trip and the mgmt team has to literally force him to come down to the lobby to leave. He always says "5 more minutes", then they joke he's writing the new hit so they try to give him the time to wrap up, etc. The joke was "it'd be funny if someday I missed a flight because of it." BAM he misses his Toronto flight THAT NIGHT LOL, literally just a few hours later. Hilarious.
  19. LP recorded everything for over 10 years so I bet they are recording Mike, yeah. Mike was likely the one that even said to start doing that in the MTM era. With how involved he was with DSPs (mixing some with Pooch, downloading random ones and sending feedback to Pooch, etc) I bet he has them recording his shows. He's the tech guru of the band. Geki is right, it's going to be hard to find a better one than NYC. I have no doubt Europe, Asia, and South America will have some great crowds. They always do. All those places kick ass. But the fact that it was a 500 person venue, the entire crowd was diehard as fuck... hardcore fans and almost all LPU... wow. So loud and an incredible show. Would love that released too. I'm stoked for the tour to start up in August because the shows will be really good; once he gets in a vibe of playing almost every night the shows are going to get even better. Mike has a lot of stuff up his sleeves I'm sure. He's unpredictable - in a good way. I bet he releases the Post Traumatic instrumentals/acapellas soon. He is also working on a substantial amount of new music already and is in a very big creative drive. All this traveling is giving him a lot of time to make music (he talked at Apple how he's writing every single day). He gets a month off and gets back to his home studio next week... I would not be surprised if we saw some new music in 2019 from him. There's no "3 year process" to go through with LP here, it's all an independent artist who can do what he wants. Then he has potential live stuff he can release, etc. Lots of possibilities. LPU CD could be extra Mike songs, who knows. I think we are just seeing the beginning of a big flow of material from him - just my opinion. I'm excited. And LP is going to be back too sometime.
  20. The week of every show refresh this page all week: https://linkinpark.com/lpu/contests They get posted only a few days out.
  21. I love he is saying in so many interviews (he gets huge applause on Daily Show) that Chester is the best singer of our generation. Really love that. Here is another one, I haven't watched it yet. He is doing so much press that it's impossible to keep track of it all.
  22. This 28 minute interview could possibly be the best interview Mike has given so far for Post Traumatic. The host did a fantastic job with his questions, and was very respectful. As a result, Mike opened up and was super chill and informative. Worth a watch if you have the time. He says some extremely nice things about Chester near the end. In the middle he talks about why he thinks Linkin Park's fanbase is so incredibly devoted and close knit.
  23. Great translation, seriously. Thanks for sharing. He actually gives a lot of new information in this interview. Yeah we knew the LP studio stuff. Remember last fall Mike said he reorganized his whole home studio to bring in LP gear for everyone so they could jam music together for the first time in one room since like the Hybrid Theory era? They definitely messed with some ideas, and Rob also worked on Looking For An Answer at this time. I bet after reconvening like that as a group is when the band collectively decided they cannot proceed right now and Mike made the decision to ultimately make a solo album for release, instead of just some songs here and there that he was working on. The Chester taking the OML criticism badly is something I have a hard time understanding. I agree with Geki that the MTM backlash and ESPECIALLY the ATS backlash was much more severe. ATS is the worst they have ever gotten in my opinion, more than OML. I think the difference is something was off with Chester. He never had lashed out like this at criticisms. Maybe this was a sign that no one saw. Even Corey Taylor told him to calm down. He was taking it apparently in some new way that he hadn't taken it before. It's no fault of anyone criticizing LP because those people have been doing that since day one. I think he was just "off". He was in bad bad shape in 2016 (which we did not know until TMZ dropped all that insane info, which they didn't need to do). In 2017 he must have not recovered well enough. Then Chris Cornell died. It's all a fucking disaster, he was really going downhill in 2015 (leg break, quitting STP) to 2017. I don't know what else anyone could have done for him. He had tried it several times before and eventually you are going to succeed if you are that determined to carry it out, no matter who is around you (LP and Talinda are THE best support group in the world). Talinda has been so open lately about signs she didn't notice at all in 2017 that he was showing. What a mess. I'm not sure it could have been prevented. The OML backlash did not play into his decision. I am firm in that belief, very firm, like Geki said. But what I do think, factually speaking, is that he was taking this backlash in much different ways than he used to. He used to not give one single fuck what people thought, and with OML he was openly arguing with fans online and making outrageous statements about Hybrid Theory fans. His bad mental state made him take things differently (NOT his fault at all). I don't know, we could sit and hypothetically discuss things all day. It won't change anything. I miss him a lot.
