Roxy 2004 in full would be a great CC 2004 celebration. Think about it, they don't need any permission from Jay-Z to put out Don't Stay, Somewhere I Belong, the medley, Breaking the Habit, and From the Inside. 5 songs. Smokeout 2003 sent people into fits...imagine what these 5 songs would do.  Is there a better time in history than now to release the extra 5 songs?

As much as I'd like MFR 2005 to be released, they'd probably have to work that out with Jay-Z somehow. That show is AMAZING and would be great. But the Roxy songs seem like an easy, grand slam idea and people would buy the footage however they put it out. Throw it on a cardboard case bonus DVD or something.

Two questions: Is there any professional recording of MFR 2005? Not saying a Rock am Ring 04 / Milton Keynes 08 kind of, but somewhat like Veterans Stadium 03, Fillmore 01... A bare bones pro shot, I mean.

Any chances to also see the full version of the Live 8? It would be a great time to proper remaster that show, although with the Jay Z songs and the tracks included on the official DVD of the event, must be a legal hell to be released.

It is the worst LP album ever made. I have no favorite song from there.

OML had a massive boost because Chester passed away.

Read the news before Chester's death. The press and fan/non fans had a very very very negative opininion about the album.

It is true. When OML came out, many hardcore fans didn't liked it, which was somewhat expected, but even outside LP fandom, many people simply though "Not interesting, that sound is outdated and corny".

After July 2017 it became a musical masterpiece, a testament of Chester's last days and their lyrics a jigsaw puzzle about how he was committing suicide and leaving clues about it.

    Serious question

Is it confirmed that Brazil 2004 full show exists ?

I'm sure any of the admins can give you the most accurate answer, but as far as I know, best case scenario just MTV Brazil might had it at some point before delete/lose it

The PR02, LPU03 AND Japan 2006 shows are my favorite LP SHOWS ever.
However, this one about the smokeout, since the videos of the 3 songs were leaked 14 or 15 years ago, I imagined what the other songs would be like.
and we have this update of 5 more songs from this show. It's a great start to the year when it comes to being an old LP fan.

I hope that Mike, together with the record company, can release some of these old shows for fans to enjoy and go back to the past. fans would love this kind of stuff

They're not going to lose tons of money if they release a live archive for free. Normal and not hardcore fans doesn't care for one specific performance like us, give them some unreleased studio tracks and it will blow away streaming services, like it happened with Lost. But "In the End (Live at Summer Sonic 2006)" isn't going to have 16 million streams in Spotify, for sure.

  4. Maybe, and just maybe, that Mike's whish to have a live recordings archive centralized somewhere might be our chance to see some mighty shows, like Tokyo 06, that doesn't completely fit in one era, and cannot be included on a boxset. Wishful thinking.

  5. Unpopular opinion here: I've never understood the mighty aura that has this show. Yeah, the first time playing BTH... So what? That might just me, but I've never understood the charm of debut performance of songs, usually are far from being the best version of them. And while I haven't watched the footage yet, seems like it was an ok performance.

Having already said that... Really glad to see that pro-shot partially released. Moreso when they've always messed up about the material ("the label has it", "the tapes have been destroyed", "the band doesn't like the footage"... etc).

It finally is where it should belong, with the fans

Here You can download a full Reverb show from TV4 Polish channel that I've recorded years ago (yeah Polish audio during the interview). That's why the first version I've mentioned above is better for LP fans.

It was aired for the second time - main difference between this version and the previous one is new TV logo and the content. Basically it's full Reverb recording.

if Warner pays this guy for nothing, surely this guy will keep coming back for more or another twist. big companies like Warner wont easily lose to some random guy who claims money after 2 decades. totally disagree with paying Kyle.

They shouldn't pay him, because he will come back for more, sure. What about being paid for your job? Nah, that's crazy. If that happens, like you've said, Warner has enough lawyers to shut down is suppossed avarice.

It is. It just shouldn’t have been included in the box set IMO. They could have done some kind of separate release, maybe in collaboration with Jeff Blue, at the time.

IMO, the whole Xero and Hybrid Theory band era is separate from Linkin Park. I know Chester was the singer in Hybrid Theory/Platinum Lotus Foundation. Was he in Xero for a very short time or no? He joined in 1999, March. Were they Xero 818 at this time? I don’t remember.

But I just think the whole past of the band is so different from Linkin Park. I guess yes, it is all the same music, same band, just different names. But this is where I think the whole ‘’Linkin Park brand’’ thing that the band was trying to make happen in the 2010’s is important. Around that time Mike made that famous LP grey t shirt right? The one that said established in 1998, Los Angeles. I have like 3 of those shirts in my basement. But yet in reality, they formed in 1996. 1996 is the year I would say is the birth of Linkin Park, the earliest shit was then, the Deftest demo and shit.

Idk I just think ‘’Linkin Park’’ was the the 6 guys we knew, Mike, Chester, Brad, Rob, Joe and Phoenix. I never have thought of Linkin Park as having other members, because in my mind, Xero and Hybrid Theory were a different band basically. Idk. It’s all so complicated.

I just wish the box set was done better. They could have refined it more. And also I guess they should have credited Kyle. But I do think he is just trying to get money out of them. A lot of bands have this sort of shit happen when they become legacy acts.

    Go home, you're drunk

  9. IF Mike was aware that Kyle wasn't being properly credited for his job, since he's a control freak, then what a dumb move by him, believing that the band was smarter than anyone and Kyle wouldn't notice.

The funniest part is that this page might have started the fire without ever know or wanting it.

But in the end, if they lose the lawsuit, LP is a wealthy band, they'll just pay him and move on. No big deal for them, but an opportunity to do things right

  10. I love MTM but I've always felt that it was a "best of" of tracks composed during that period rather than a full cohesive record. I mean, it's not a coincidence that LOATR is placed just after Given Up. Instead of MTM I would name it "The Houdini Sessions: 2005-2007"

I also get the feeling that Welcome being included on this is Mike's way of saying "that's a wrap" on Fort Minor, since that's the only other fully commercially released bit of music besides the album itself (discounting We Major and the Militia tracks). I don't know, maybe that's reading too much into it, or conversely, it's kind of been obvious for a long time that Mike's Fort Minor era is over and his solo work is only going to be under his own name like it has been since 2018

I don't know, a random vinyl release as a wrap would be like saying that the digital MTM 15th anniversary edition it's a proper celebration of the album. I rather wait until 2025 with a deluxe edition of TRT, you put all the songs of the record, the We Major and Militia tracks, Welcome, a DVD with some performances and call it a day. 2CDs, a DVD and everyone's happy.
