Well first off, you got off topic in first place making a hockey comment in an LP forum Second, I wasn't judging by a game to game basis, I was simply making a statement in regards to the playoffs and that nothing is guaranteed so comparing teams who haven't faced each other in the playoffs yet is completely pointless. Anyway, that whole live chat was pretty much the same we've been hearing lately anyway. Just the guys saying the same thing about the album in different ways, and that's fine since they can't give too much away. The only news I am interested in now is more song descriptions. I won't listen to the album if it leaks so the descriptions will have to hold me over until June 26th haha
-
Ha! Typical New York fan. You should know better than anyone that nothing's guaranteed in the playoffs. Focus on getting out the 2nd round with Washington first before you talk shit

I think this topic got a lot more out of hand than it need to be. First off, I honestly cannot say I know for a fact that LP uses backing vocal or instrumental tracks. I just know LP fans have their noses so far up their asses that I'm sure they tend to find out the truth haha. Second, I honestly could care less about what Dave has to say about other bands. He comes from a different era in music and a completely different style of writing music and performing. Thirdly, people need to stop comparing Chester and Dave's vocal styles and capabilities. Two very distinct and unique vocal approaches, and to compare the two is just stupid. Yes, Chester is a very powerful vocalist and has a wide vocal range on and off the stage, while Dave does not sound nearly as close to his studio recorded vocals. Does not come close to meaning that he is a shitty vocalist. He just has a different vocal range and style. He truly believes in the idea of going on stage, beating the shit out of their instruments, and putting on a good show as arguably the best frontman in the game, cause he arguably is. Finally, Dave also plays for an hour and fifteen minutes longer than LP live, at least, so people should hold their tongue and let Chester sing for that long and see what type of toll that takes on his vocal cords. People just need to accept the fact that not every musician shares the same opinion and sees eye-to-eye with everyone, and that both bands are one of the best to come out of alternative music so just let it go and enjoy them both. Or don't

That's ballsy coming from Mike. Not that I'm a fan of Dave ripping apart other bands, but there is a lot of sources claiming that LP does indeed use backing tracks now a days. When it came to playing ATS songs anyway

LPU Exclusive Show At The House Of Blues In LA
Biggiee2180@aol.com replied to [AndOne]'s topic in Newswire
They really need to add a Northeast show to that LPU tour -
I'd love to see Chester join them on Megalomaniac or Anna Molly. And if Brandon joined LP, I'd imagine it would be on Crawling or Breaking The Habit. Possibly New Divide

LP - 17.08.2012 - Camden, NJ, Susquehanna Bank Center
Biggiee2180@aol.com replied to hahninator's topic in Show Roll Call
Got mine this morning. It really is a fucking shame that Honda had to jack the tickets up so much cause you know LP and the other bands wouldn't do that to us. Hell, even LP ate the processing fee for LPUers cause of how ridiculous the price was, and that was 4-5 years ago. I understand ticket pricing going up as the nature of the business, and a co-headlining show, but damn that put a whole in my pocket This!!! Chester loves Philly, and the 3 times I've seen them here (Camden '07-'08 and Philly '11) he really expressed how much he loves this city, whether actually saying it or singing it during his screams (Ex: Chester screaming "PHILLY!!!!" right when Brad kicks into the What I've Done solo) Anxious for the show, new album and hearing the new songs live. Seems like the new songs will kick up the energy of the shows, which have died down a tad since MTM and ATS. Understandably cause of the more mellow songs, which are awesome, but I'd really like to capture some of that consistent high energy that they were known for in the early days -

I will be there as well. Tailgating my ass off for that show. First time ever I'll be attending a show where I wanna see every single band. A shame I'll probably have to miss the M&G if they have during either MuteMath's or Incubus' sets -
LPTV - Linkin Park and Transformers 3: First Look

I gotta admit, hearing the song with scenes from the movie really change my opinion about the selection. I still think the original is better, and that the new single mix should have a little more instrumentation to add more kick to the movie but all in all I'm confident these guys know what they're doing. -

Fucking epic show! I can't see any true LP fan complaining about that setlist. The band sounded great, especially Chester! He loves Philly and he really showed it with the constant talks to the crowd to get them even more amped up and adding those extra energetic screams during the songs. Not a bad thing I can mention about that show. Cannot wait for NYC Friday!!! Should be an even better time with the extra days they'll have off -

I just hope Philly and NYC don't have the same setlist. They have Boston in between shows and a big 3 day layover between Boston and NYC so I hope they keep it random -

Cannot freaking wait! This starts off my birthday week so I'm really psyched for this. I can't imagine how anxious I'd be if I hadn't seen them in NYC back in September. I'm seeing them again Friday at the garden so this will be the first time I've seen them multiple times on the same tour (5th and 6th shows) I'm also going to the M&G tomorrow so I'll try to keep everyone updated on anything interesting. I'm not sure what time everything goes down so I'll have to wait for the morning of email from the LPU. Should be an awesome night, especially since I'll be ringing my 21st in at midnight. -
I doubt it. A lot of the casual fans who give me shit for liking their music used Wretches And Kings as an example to constantly ask me "WTF happened to LP." That song's heavy, but its nothing like anything they've done before. Nothing on ATS is. Its a great live song, and it can really get the crowd into it with its high energy, but its definitely not single material. Casual fans may jump on the heavy sampled guitars and beats, but that would be it cause the vocals are completely different from their older songs.
-
If they made a radio edit of Wretches And Kings that would be the dumbest thing ever. There's the speech in the beginning and there's the speech towards the end and even after that its just music and them yelling "hey hey hey." Not really a quality single. A local Philly radio station used Blackout in a LP '11 tour promo so I think that could possibly work for a single. Regardless, I think Iridescent should be their final single. Its a stronger finish to their album single cycle then Leave Out All The Rest was for MTM and that song really delivers with the final 2 choruses. I just hope they wouldn't radio edit that one cause its still short of the 5 minute mark so I'd hope they'd leave it alone. So that would leave them with 5 singles for that album when its all said and done, the other 4 songs really don't have what it takes cause they are more album songs then they are singles, and that's exactly why LP made them the way they did
-
I don't think Wretches And Kings is a strong enough song to be a single. The speech portion really takes away from the song's single quality. Burning In The Skies seems like it'll really take up on the destruction theme that's present in ATS
-
Just sent you a pic of the 4 Philly ones I have. It was an old pic I sent to the people going with me so if you want a better one or of just one of them let me know
-
Now that I think about it, I think Burning In The Skies should be the next single. Its not a strong enough song (for radio) to top of their ATS singles some time in the future so I think it'll work out right. After BITS I think it'll be Blackout and Iridescent to close off the album singles. Both of those videos would be fucking awesome if they fit the moods of the songs. Blackout's video would be so trippy with the mood changes, and Iridescent could feed of the definition of its name alone with an "iridescent-like" approach to the video
-
Really wish I could attend one of these. I was hoping it would be in NYC cause I'm already going there and Philly. Ooh well
-
That was just one of a hundred different sets I could come up with. I just wanted to open with somethig different and with the way they change that song around with intros and outros all the time and especially how they haven't played it since they've been back I thought it'd be pretty cool
-
Perfect possible setlist 1. Points Of Authority 2. Wretches And Kings 3. Papercut 4. Lying From You 5. Given Up 6. From The Inside 7. Faint 8. No More Sorrow 9. Wisdom, Justice And Love 10. Iridescent 11. Numb 12. Burning In The Skies 13. Blackout 14. Crawling 15. Shadow Of The Day 16. What I've Done 17. The Fallout 18. The Catalyst Encore 19. Jornada Del Muerto 20. Waiting For The End 21. Somewhere I Belong 22. When They Come For Me 23. Bleed It Out 24. A Place For My Head 25. One Step Closer Sorry about putting Crawling twice lol
-
I honestly just want them to play songs they haven't played in years. I've heard all of MTM except Valentines Day, and I'm sure we'll get a good chunk of ATS since they've already performed 8 of the 9. Meteora and Hybrid Theory throw backs would be awesome. I'm not saying play everything, but save a few spots for each set to interchange throughout any given show it's not big deal. The fact that Mike isn't 100% if he likes them is either scary or intriguing. I hope it means there songs on there that others want to play like classics but he doesn't
-
Sent my email back to you not long ago! Can't wait to get the shirts for the tour. I can't wait for some of Australia DSPs either. I wanna hear Blackout from a credible audio source. Not to mention all of the other tweaks they made to the setlists

Blackout and Burning In The Skies Live Debut!
Biggiee2180@aol.com replied to [AndOne]'s topic in Newswire
I was right for the most part. I haven't stripped the song down to just vocals but whenever I listen to it I think Chester is the louder of the 2 from the get go at 3:29. I knew for a fact that Mike didn't sing as much as he did live as he did on the studio version. I honestly think Chester should do more of the singing, since he does it on the album, plus Mike doesn't sound quite up to par vocally. I'll hold my true criticism for when I hear a descent version and after a few more times they perform the song. -
