  1. Road tripping to shows is fun...if you can afford it and don't have obligations that prevent it.

Nothing but truth. I still live with my parents and I'm the only one who CAN work. No car to take a road trip either. But if LP comes within a state or two (hopefully Houston since I have friends there), I'm gonna try my best to find someone who's planning on going. I've never seen LP live yet in any setting.

  2. I hope if they do perform, the whole band will be on stage this time for live guitars/drums/backing vocals. But if Steve's other remix is another Burn It Down remix, so help me God...

If there will be more Steve, personally I would rather new songs. Not remixes of other LP songs. We have enough remixes of Living Things.. I don't think we need EDM versions as well.

  3. Twitter confirmed that Joe said the next album will be out in 2014, which was already assumed, but here's hoping for an early-2014 release (like January 2nd, no later)

I'm almost positive it won't be out that fast. When the album gets to be a few months away, they'll start promotion and release a single probably. If it was this close they probably would have done that by now or in the very very immediate future. I hope it comes out early 2014 but I'm gonna predict summer.

  4. Steve also mentions later in the article that ALTNC came about after he was asked to do a remix for LP. Maybe there will be more remixes coming in addition to Living Things Remixed/Recharged?

I always figured there was more to the LP/Aoki collaboration than just ALTNC. I know it wasn't much to go on but I thought that when Steve said (in the making of ALTNC) something to the effect of it was "one of the first" songs where he had to bridge his world and the LP world. It would be cool to hear an LP remix by Aoki
  5. I think they are. Chester said in the Kevin and Bean interview that LP might be playing some shows in early 2014, but it doesn't look like a tour or anything extensive. I just hope it isn't a one off in LA. A show in FL or something would be better IMO.

If they go to Florida, I'm going somehow. I've given up hope that they'll ever perform in my home state again.

  6. The red STP logo is actually the logo for STP motor oil. That goes all the way back to the band's inception, they wanted that to be the abbreviation for their name before they actually had a name (as legend has it, they also considered calling themselves "Shirley Temple's Pussy"). They likely covered that up for the TV performance since it's a trademark of another company, as opposed to it being something related to Scott.

Shirley Temple's Pussy, with Chester Bennington.

    Couldn't resist lol

  7. I'm sure no one knows the answer, but what are the chances we will get an instrumental/acapella of "A Light That Never Comes" from LP for remixes and such? That would be pretty nice.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that there would be a remix contest for ALTNC. I would assume that means yes, if not the multitracks like for the LITE contest.

  8. Apparently Danny Hayes helped LP negotiate their 2002 contract with WB, and also to re-negotiate their contract in 2006. He told LP that the new contract improved their royalties, which led to the agreement being reached.

Then in 2009 LP hired someone else, Paul Hutchinson, to audit their royalties, I would assume to make sure that everything was as it should be. Apparently it turned out that when they signed in 2006, they were receiving less royalties from digital sales than they were before, despite WB and Hayes claiming their contract would give them MORE royalties from digital sales, not less. So the conclusion was reached that Hayes lied to Linkin Park in order to get them to sign their 2006 contract, which ended the WB/LP conflict, and Hutchinson discovered it.

The band fired Hayes, so Hayes decided to sue Hutchinson over his evaluation. He claims basically that Hutchinson intentionally caused conflict between Linkin Park and Hayes, and that Hutchinson lied to LP in order to harm Hayes' reputation and damage his credibility. Hutchinson tried to have the lawsuit dismissed by claiming the evaluation he gave LP was made in anticipation of legal action being taken. However, this claim was dismissed, so the lawsuit will proceed.

If I'm wrong...sorry. I'm sure Astat or Mark will correct me. From what I can see, that's how it looks in simple terms though.

  9. * ''Minutes to Midnight'' - ''Almanac'', ''Argue. Agree.'', ''Ascend'', ''Dictionary'', ''In Cold Blood'', ''In Triumph & Tragedy'', ''Linkin Park'', ''Leave Out All the Rest'' & ''Triumph in Tragedy''

I don't think these are considered working titles for the album, they were just album title ideas. I mean I don't think the project was ever actually known as or referred to as Almanac, for example.

  10. Hardcore version of Victimized in the sense of an more agressive version? or the music genre hardcore?

Probably just more aggressive. My first thought when I read that was something with a hard beat and heavy synths. A song that fits the literal genre of hardcore would feel slightly out of place on an album that is shaping up to be mostly EDM oriented. Then again I'm just guessing and I could be wrong.
