  1. Wow Justin, POA and FTI are epic.

They really are, but I did one from each album, and I didn't wanna take the easy way out of Meteora by saying Foreword. As far as HT it was POA or Runaway.. I love both albums every song though. I like how your whole list (almost) comes from LT though lol. I still think UIB is a good song.

  2. seriously? I really liked them. I sometimes feel like printed lyrics and "this is how we wrote the song" stuff can distract from the 'art' of the thing and be a bit cheesy. although I guess LP had to do it for meteora when there were all those "they didn't write the songs - it's all manufactured!" rumours going around in the HT-era.

that said, if a band prints lyrics but only has like four lines from each song, that annoys me.

I just meant the style in which they printed them, was kind of hard to read lol

"ohhh when our keyboards break, keyboards break, I'll be gahhn"

"try to fix it up, mothafuckaaa!" LOL

  3. i was going though some LP stuff on youtube and bumped into this video containing a song played live around the meteora cycle and was wondering what song is this, sounds like a alternate version of a.06 but has a different guitar riff and sounds, can anyone let me know what it is? possibly unreleased meteora song

starts off with voice overs and bells then at 0:26 the song begins

Pretty sure that's just one of LP's live intros that they used at shows a while back.

  4. With LT, it's like the band was like "lol oh we have this random seed....let's put it with this....and add this sampled beat...aaaaand Brad you sing here....aaaaand here's UNTIL IT BREAKS!"

Dude you really hate that song don't you? LOL

I think they are doing that because they want to tour less, and make music faster, the only thing is that I can't help but feel that they are doing that because they think fans will get mad if they take a little bit to make an album. I'd rather have a wait instead of a rushed album.

I'd rather wait until 2015 for a timeless album, then get an album in a few months from now that will be worn out in a year like LT. I can honestly say I listened to LT a lot for the first few months, but now when I want to hear LP I don't even play anything from that album. That's the first LP album that's happened with for me.

  5. I meant to say, STP is slowly taking over LP more and more. Now they are even covering LP songs. This is not a good sign. We knew the end of LP was inevitable in May when STP announced Chester as their new lead singer, now this is the next phase..

I didn't "know the end of LP was inevitable" lol. I don't think Chester will leave LP in favor of STP. I'm pretty sure he literally said as much. I really don't think LP will go out like that honestly.

  6. I don't think it's general knowledge as to how much he gets paid for working with LP, but I imagine it's a lot, since Corey Taylor for Slipknot said they had to pay him a ridiculous amount of money and he was hardly there. He might cost more for different artists, though, so who knows. I also imagine that they probably pay him around the same price for each album, but MTM may have costed more because it was the first time they worked with. Who knows.

That's exactly what made me wonder lol, Corey Taylor's quote. I read an article about Rick the other day which mentioned a band he produced which I had never even heard of, so he probably charges more for bigger names. If Corey Taylor considers Slipknot's fee a horrendous amount of money, I'm pretty sure a band just starting out wouldn't be able to afford that.

  7. Definitely the worst LP album of the 5, but it's still great.

I don't like how they printed the lyrics.

Anyway my question is: Has LP paid Rick Rubin the same amount for each record he produces? If so how much did he charge? I'm curious. The information might not be available though, I realize.

  8. I think it also has to do with timing. Since EDM is really BIG right now it's kinda suspect for the band to put out an EDM remix album.

Also Reanimation sounds more cohesive compared to Recharged.

I guess since the band found a way to blend the electronic element with the tradition elements (If that makes any sense) they felt that it would be cool to do something different this time.

I know with A Thousand Suns someone mentioned that the electronic elements were more on the forefront compared to their previous album, where it as in the background.

But yea, if Mike feels really inspire to do an another Fort Minor album, or EP. He could drop one. If STP can drop an EP, why not Mike?

Personally i won't be playing the album that much tho. I like the rap verses from Pusha T, Bun B, Ryu, & Mike

I believe Reanimation felt more cohesive because it involved a lot more input from the entire band. Not just some remixers emailing Mike (I'm assuming) some remixes they made from the stems, and Mike remixing a couple songs and recording a couple verses. Reanimation felt almost like another studio album with the way they completely rebuilt those songs in every way, while Recharged just feels like a thrown together compilation of EDM remixes. Don't get me wrong, I'm just speaking from my own personal opinion. While I like both albums, I don't really think this should be compared to Reanimation. They are both technically remix albums, but the vibe and experience are completely different to me.

Overall, the remixes are actually pretty cool. I do think Recharged has some replay value, I only really dislike the middle few songs (literally #6-9), but Reanimation to me was and is way more special. I really feel like the band (all 6 members) put a huge amount of effort into Reanimation, and it doesn't exactly feel that way with Recharged. Probably they all just listened the tracks to choose from and they voted on which to use. As in "yeah, put that one on there". Am I wrong, or was Mike the only person in the band who actually put new studio work in to the album (with his remixes and verses)? That question not including ALTNC, which (I could be wrong) was just Mike & Chester actually recording, with input from the rest of LP.

As far as Mike doing another FM album or EP, I think it'll happen. Given the mention by Ryu on the IBG remix, it's at least something they're "considering" (no pun intended). I think that if it happens, it will be in 2015 or 2016, after the next LP album release and initial tour that will come with it. I would love it if it was sooner, Mike has shown he definitely hasn't lost it. His verse on the STB remix is one of my favorites from him ever, LP/FM/anything else. I just think Mike is focused on Linkin Park for the immediate future, and won't want to spend time on another project right now.

  9. To be honest I'm not sure about what you guys talking.. Isn't they're always working like this? They're doing what they doing and then Rick check the music and say "Fix this one, change this one, and mix this one again." etc..?

I thought the quote meant that Rick was writing the album with them, as in creating parts instead of just giving advice and things of that nature. That's what I meant. I don't think Rick actually took part in the creation of the parts, writing of lyrics and all that directly. I was under the impression that he only gave his thoughts on what the band came up with.

  10. I thought about it, they probably have a lot of remixes that left out of Recharged. Also maybe they're keeping the IMR remix for the LPU CD (to make it "exclusive").

As long it's 1/2 remixes it's ok, but LPU release with only remixes...

    We already have five options:

ALTNC (JH Mix), ALTNC (Twoloud Remix), COG Remix, Avicii Remix and DJ Fresh Remix.

If LPU 13 is all or almost all remixes it'll kinda be overkill with remixes in my opinion..

  11. Producers often help to write the music for an album, though considering how creative Linkin Park are, I definitely don't think they'd need that.

To be honest, I really don't think they need Rubin at this point. Just let Shinoda produce the whole thing.

They should self-produce. It's not an unheard of thing. I never understood why they don't let Mike produce by himself. He's been described as "the glue", and he's a talented producer. I don't see what the problem is in letting Mike be the sole executive producer for an LP album.

  12. If you're talking about this, it could be the ALTNC Reboot. And according to Mike's answer - more than likely.

I just want to take this opportunity to say that you are one of the most resourceful people on this entire forum. That's definitely meant to be a compliment lol.

Anyways, yeah I think you're right. At first I thought he meant that Rick was writing the album with them, which as much of a genius as Rick might be, he's not a member of Linkin Park. Wouldn't have made sense at all.

  13. With Mike's verse that's in SKIN TO BONE, there is no excuse at all from the band to put out another terrible song like BURN IT DOWN, EVER again.

I see your point, but BID seems to be a radio song to me. To me, that song says "I was written and recorded with the intent of being on mainstream radio."

  14. I agree but you can't compare them. Reanimation made by the band and the remixers, Recharged made by the remixers and as far as we know only two remixes made by Mike.

Yeah this was a completely different approach then Reanimation. I remember a couple people saying Reanimation 2 was happening when they first announced Recharged. Make no mistake that this is not able to compare. I'm pretty sure with Recharged they just gave the remixers the stems, and got a remix back. Mike recorded a couple verses but I think that's it. With Reanimation I think the band were involved with every song

There's only thing that weirder than Victimized remix in this release is In My Remains remix mystery.

Part of me wonders if the band (or Mike or Chester specifically) consider that one special and didn't want it touched. I mean every other song has a remix somewhere, except that one? That would be an interesting question to get to someone in the band.

  15. i remember there was a band that didnt like working with Rubín cause he was neveer around.

    was it Slipknot? lol

Yup. Corey Taylor said he only saw Rick 4 times personally and that he would never work with him again as long as he lived. lol

"...we were being charged horrendous amounts of money. And for me, if you're going to produce something, you're fucking there. I don't care who you are."

  16. I'd like to hear Stick N' Move or Fuse with Chester's vocals. Maybe the NRL demo with Chester, and the Figure .09 with the sung verses.

This is more unrealistic for an LPU release but I'd like to hear the song Mike did with Michael Buble.
