I'm predicting a midday PST launch.
-
The "press release" if you will stated that it would be launching worldwide on November 18th. All I'm saying is...stick to their word and don't forget about the time difference!
-
They should keep Europe and the rest of the world in mind when launching and not just the US. The launch date of November 18th should apply to all regions Edit: I wonder if sustainability might have something to do with being able to purchase multiple years of LPU instead of the usual one. Thus sustaining the group of members
-
Even though you can tell its unfinished, after several listens I think its simply a beautiful song.
-
I really like it. It would be a perfect track to go on a new Reanimation type album. Sadly, we got Recharged instead.
-
If this is a once off at Download only then it increases the possibilities of getting a live DVD released of it. If....IF, a new album were to be released early enough next year (major if), they could add a lot of new stuff to the Download show. Old + new = amazing. It would be the best live DVD they released since Road to Revolution. I don't count the LT live show release.
-
They need to take their time and ensure its better than LT. That's all I ask!
-
So it looks like nobody from this forum attended. I probably live the closest but I didn't go due to work commitments. Shame really but I hope they got a decent turnout
-
So I'm guessing the winning track will be included on LPU 13?
-
I might go but it all depends on what time I finish work at. Good to know a valid LPU membership is not required. Maybe you guys should make people aware of that via facebook and/or email. It would encourage more to go and in turn, you may get more people signing up to LPU

Mike Shinoda Gives Updates on New Album
andydlp replied to maik_gianino's topic in Everything Linkin Park
+1 Personally, I don't think they even need a producer. Mike is well capable of doing it himself (he basically is already). They're paying Rubin to do very little as things stand. -
I think Warner has an office here (in Dublin). I think some staff from there were on hand at the LT pre-release listening event or whatever it was called. Maybe the same staff are doing the meetup?! I do agree with you, I don't think there will be many people attending. Even looking at the Facebook comments...only like 2 people seem to be going. If this was a way for LP to scout locations for the forthcoming tour then its not going to be good for the Irish. Hopefully this is not the case but you never know. They haven't been here since 2008 and before that it was 2000/01 or thereabouts as support for Metallica. I might have considered attending but I'm not in the LPU anymore. Its just not worth the money. Its only a short bus ride away so I could potentially gatecrash it! They might be desperate for numbers!
-
Are people still playing this? Are they into it? Personally, I've haven't bothered and I notice its not being promoted/plugged so much lately. Interest dying so soon, enough from LP's side???
-
IMO this video is pretty weak. I think LP need to move away from Ghost Town altogether. They rely on them too much now. Bring back a simple performance video I say!
-
No longer in the LPU so that rules me out Short notice and having to work...that rules me out Listening party for Recharged...the definitely rules me out! Me thinks there might be a few empty spaces at this meet up

I sometimes like music like that too. If you listen to The Messenger, you can hear a chair sqweeking at the end of the track. However, its not really my point. My point is that I don't think it was left in purposely. I think they missed it because they didn't focus or polish the track/album as they normally would. Little things like that, shorter touring cycles, weak music videos, not delivering on promises (LT remixes) and other stuff makes me feel like they don't care so much anymore.
-
I'm not holding my breath for a decent LPU album either. I'm gobsmacked at just how bad Recharged is. Its just the same stupid beats over & over again. This is why I could never and will never get into techno, drum n bass etc. It all just sounds the same. Roads Untravelled remix seems to be the only song that is holding a thread of my attention. Honestly, Recharged just further fuels my opinion that LP are becoming complacent/lazy. They're releasing stuff now just for the sake of it. They're not putting as much effort and focus into their releases like they've previously done. LT was too rushed and just thrown together. Take Roads Untravelled as an example. Just before the last section/chorus or whatever you wanna call, you can hear the guitar sound/pick touching off the string. The majority will not what I'm referring too and I think we all agree its a mistake. The band or somebody should have noticed that and removed it but they didn't. It just shows lack of care. Even the music videos are beyond weak now. I'm imagine we'll see LT songs fazed out from the live show quicker than expected.
-
Very sad to say but this will be the first LP album I am not buying. I had a listen and its just....not good. Maybe its because I'm not into all that techno music etc but I just really don't like it.

Across The Line is a great LPU song and it should be played live. It's better than In Between, Powerless and a lot of other songs yet it was deemed not good enough to make the album. It deserves be played live just like Qwerty (another LPU song) As for their masterpiece song, if it can't be played live then it's not a masterpiece IMOMike says Robot Boy is too complicated to play live. That's bull. They can do a stripped down version if need be or play a backing track for some of the elements. I love The Catalyst but if the vocoder or whatever it's called breaks, the song gets scrapped from the live show. I don't get it. I'd rather them sing it without the voice effects than sound like they're singing under water (iTunes show)

Totally agree with you, especially with your opinion about Reanimation. I was excited for Recharged when it was announced but as soon as Mike released the track listing, my excitement disappeared. I was hoping for another Reanimation but I should've known we'll never see the likes of it again I hate this dance techno shit. I don't even know what EDM stands for. I didn't buy the LT remixes because I had zero interest. Personally I feel justified in not buying them because they just aren't good. Now, some of them are included on Recharged along with some new stuff. I won't be buying it and it's unlikely I will even bother to get it by "other means". IMO LP have become lazy to an extent in recent. Ok, maybe not lazy but definitely less passionate. I know they work a lot and are involved in a lot of different projects but maybe that's to the detriment of the band. Think about it. Even myself, working in the same job for 10 years, I get tired of it and don't care so much any more. Why should LP be any different? The shorter touring cycles, less interaction/talking to fans at live shows, the meet n greets are more meet than greet, Joe's videos are pretty weak over the last two albums.Even LT itself. It was a plain ol jewel CD case with a crappy booklet containing no lyrics. Compare it to the Meteora CD for example. Another thing is that people who bought the LT remixes didn't get all the remixes they were promised. Now the give us a new game because I think the band thinks it cool. They're not passionate about it. They just think its cool. It'll fall by the wayside just like 8-Bit.I don't know if these problems are management, staff, band related or all of the above. Just while I'm on a rant, I'd like to give my two cents on the poor setlists. By poor, I mean the same. They need to start including all songs, whether they're popular (singles) or not. I'm including LPU tracks & other songs such as Blackbirds and No Roads Left.Don't make songs if you're not willing to play them live or can't play them live (Robot Boy). Brads verse on UIB is great but the band knew damn well this would never be performed live because Brad would not be comfortable singing it. Also, certain songs don't get played live because certain band members don't like them. After all the making of's we've seen & the band meetings and tough reviews / voting system of songs, we're lead to believe that what makes it onto an album is the best of what the guys created at that time and they were all happy with each song on the album. Yet, stuff doesn't get played live because one or more of the guys doesn't like it. Explain that one to me! These are my own opinions of course and won't change anything. So calm down, I'm talking specifically to a certain member here

I have no idea who this guy is

This! The only LP show I've had the chance to go to was in 2008 but I can't buy the DSP because of some technicalities. I have bought some such as NYC with Jay Z or first performance of Blackout. For the most part, every DSP is the same. Same setlists with minor changes. I hate ITE & Crawling & OSC because I've heard them too much. I wish they were never played again. I wanna hear new tracks, old tracks & LPU tracks. I know that'll never happen cause the band plays it too safe. It also bugs me that they write songs but can't/won't play them live for various reasons.

Looks to be a last ditch effort to sell out the show since tickets are still available
-
My bad. Cant believe that was 2003!Thanks for the correction

You can add Ireland to that list.Supported Metallica back in 2000-01 at the infamous show.Didn't come back until June 2008. A long wait although I don't blame them after what happened at the Metallica show
