MOTHER OF GOD SETLIST http://s1-03.twitpicproxy.com/photos/full/....jpg?key=600800 -
POA into WTCFM isn't a medley at all. It's an outro with a transition, just like they've done several times before with songs like Numb into The Radiance into Iridescent. Until It Breaks over WFTE isn't outrageous considering they did it at the LPU show last week, and even that is just a simple rap over intro like they've done with POA all these years. And BIO isn't really a medley either since it's just taking a bunch of different things they've played over it since the A Thousand Suns tour. I just couldn't come up with a better name for it. I suppose "Super Mix" would be more appropriate. The LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent medley however, is indeed a medley.

I feel like the melody is really reminiscent of MIA's "Paper Planes". Anyone else? Of course mixed with the insanity of Blackout and Wretches and Kings.
-
Holy fuck that was awesome. I don't know if I'm more in shock as to how different it sounded or how sick it sounded. From the bridge onwards that was INSANE!!! Definitely felt Wretches and Kings vibes from the whole thing as well. But it was short and sweet like Faint. NEED TO LISTEN AGAIN!!!!

Your Top 10 Favourite Linkin Park songs
Twiilite replied to RiderSSPU's topic in Everything Linkin Park
1. The Little Things Give You Away A masterpiece in every sense of the word. The way the song flows from acoustic simpleness into a full blown epic guitar solo is just beautiful. I look forward to the day Linkin Park releases another epic like The Little Things. It is subjectively above and beyond anything else in their discography. 2. In Pieces This song holds a special place in my heart thanks to the completely down-to-earth lyrics. The way the explosive guitar solo bridges the indie, skat-punk intro with the alternative rock outro is masterful. I've always felt the song to be hauntingly beautiful. 3. No More Sorrow I still get chills to this day from the Ebow guitar and the thundering drums pump me up like nothing else. I've also always loved Chester's vocal delivery. So raw and powerful. I feel the song has always been highly underrated in the Linkin Park community. 4. Blackout If this song had a prominent guitar piece in the aggressive half I'm positive it would be my favourite. That said, it's still a mind-blowing song. The fact that the band made a heavy song with nothing but piano and synths says it all. And the soft half is quite possibly my favourite piece of any ballad the band has done. 5. The Catalyst As close to progressive rock as the band has ever gotten. The scope of this song is just insane. Not to mention "Lift me up/Let me go" is just legendary. 6. Across the Line This feels like the perfect bridge between Nu-Metal Linkin Park and the more experimental side of today. It's a shame the song was never on Minutes to Midnight. It's also got some of my favourite lyrics the band has ever written. 7. Faint It's fucking Faint. What's not to like? 8. Papercut Ever since The Catalyst was released, I consider Papercut to be its much older (if a little worn-down) brother. Still a headbanger no matter what the occasion. 9. A Place for My Head The best guitar riff Brad has ever conceived. Verse 1 is just badass to the max and the bridge is the epitome of heavy-as-fuck 10. New Divide/What I've Done Both songs feel interchangeable at anytime because they're so similar. I feel like these two demonstrate alternative Linkin Park at the purest level. -
THAT is one helluva setlist! It's just missing When They Come for Me and it would be perfect! Although I still think Faint is awkward as fuck as an opener.

OH SNAP TINFOIL?!?!?! -
R.I.P. A Place for My Head... You were too young to die.
-
While I don't think it's 100% intentional, the fact that the ideas behind each album directly follow the theme of a trilogy sounds almost too coincidental. I guess we'll find out if this theory is true come 6/26.

Blackout is always relevant to me. Such a badass song. I feel that Blackout tells the story of something falling apart. Whether it's a relationship or something else is up to interpretation. The first heavy half is the initial reaction with Chester calling out and blaming everything but himself. The second half is essentially the revelation stage where Mike is the inner voice saying to move forward with life. As the soft vocals continue, Chester accepts the idea and joins Mike in the song to a blissful conclusion. So overall I agree with your viewpoint.

"No More Sorrow" and "boring" should never fall in the same sentence. I could see someone getting tired of the studio version, but the live one? Fuck no. Anyways I posted this under the same titled thread on LPA, but considering there's more conversation about Live performance here, I'll post the same thing: First off Crawling can GTFO. It's been cringeworthy to listen to for far too long now. Shadow of the Day and Leave Out All the Rest have been outdone live by the far superior Iridescent and Burning in the Skies Lying from You and From the Inside can be rotated Same goes for Blackout and Wretches and Kings (Why the fuck did they take that song off?) Breaking the Habit can also rotate with Numb (the latter for all the whiny little teenyboppers) That alone leaves 4-5 empty spots on the average setlist they play. Plenty of room for the upcoming album. And I do believe they will drop most of the ATS interludes and possibly replace them with shorter intros, which opens up more time and spots for new songs.

Yeah the closest thing Papercut has to screaming is Chester's growls on the LIVE version... I think this HT = LT analogy is just grasping at straws.

Linkin Park Honda Civic Tour w/ Incubus: "Linkubus"
Twiilite replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
REALLY hoping they add a date in Toronto/Montreal... Otherwise this will be yet another tour I won't able to see them play. -
Since it hasn't been posted here yet, Joe Hahn just sent a tweet questioning the title Living Things: "Burn It Down. Tomorrow. Watch out! Living things-what?" Hmmmm...
-
Love how he writes "The single BURN IT DOWN AND the album LIVING THINGS with be available tomorrow." It's obviously a mistake, but just imagine getting the full new album tomorrow? Anyways Living Things is actually starting to grow on me now. And the whole track list will be revealed too? Fucking awesome! Hype = Through the roof
-
This is true, I had not noticed this. Guess there's still hope for SOMETHING to be revealed.
-
He did. In both the youtube video, and on his Twitter. And now all the pieces of the puzzle have been revealed... and we get nothing, besides LIVING THINGS which we're not even sure what to do with. Linkin Park are the ultimate trolls.
-
This. Either tell us something we wouldn't already know about the song, provide us with this "leak", or you're a troll. On the bright side, we only have to hear about these claims for another week...
