  1. Here's my transcription of Slip: In the center of the silence Violent thoughts are thrown through / the thick smoke As flickering lights brighten the room All the things that you wanted to say get lost and thrown away. You debate and hesitate to speak your mind Can't turn back once you cross the line Sometimes, there's someone you know who just doesn't care Who has to see you go to know you were there. This is the sun behind the rain Even if sometimes I feel I can't stand another minute May have begun to run an endless race But I never look back when I begin it. I know that this is the sun behind the rain Even if sometimes I feel I can't stand another minute May have begun to run an endless race But I never look back when I begin it. I know all of this will soon be gone You don't really have to prove them wrong. Sometimes, you've got no control of where you go. Taken down a road you don't know / and you feel So lost you want to hide your face And you don't recognize the place you're in. Sometimes, the sun doesn't shine your way. Sometimes, the night doesn't turn to day. But sometimes, the light's so bright It burns through the night and keeps the darkness at bay Either way, This is the sun behind the rain Even if sometimes I feel I can't stand another minute May have begun to run an endless race But I never look back when I begin it. I know that this is the sun behind the rain Even if sometimes I feel I can't stand another minute May have begun to run an endless race But I never look back when I begin it. I know all of this will soon be gone You don't really have to prove them wrong. I know soon enough you'll make them see. You'll be far away from them with me. Follow the link in the chain without a name Seal the light, the dark contains remains. Taken away from the place you've been trapped. Break all you know to bring it all back. I know soon enough you'll make them see. You'll be far away from them, alone with me.
  2. You say you're not going to fight because no one will fight for you. 'Cause you think there's not enough love and no one to give it to. And you say that faith is a lie and fear is your only truth. And you're sure that everyone else is feeling the way you do. You say you've hurt for so long that pain isn't something new. But don't think the things that they've done predict what you're going to do. The truth is, if trust is a gift, it's something we all can lose. So hold on. It's not where it goes. It's where it can lead you to. Hold on. It's not where it goes, it's where it can lead you to. [Robot Boy] Writing with a head full of buckets of red And what I said still stuck in my head A thoroughbred--thoroughly bled, I led To the land, that I'll never come back Smaller than thumbtack, but I never run from that From planetary size, eyes over the horizon Smaller than a Floxin I'm a lyrical lamb, the power of a god In my cynical hand, with a pen, once again Swimming in the center of the hit, or a miss Feeling all my thoughts getting lost in the mist Realize the one not the size of a fist With the killing of the killer with a flick of the wrist [fuck it beyond this point]
  3. I lol'd at the term "frontman." It sounds nu-metal.
  4. Maybe they're going to release a Breaking the Habit Live version. There was a serious lack of Breaking the Habit (Live) in the last two LPU CDs.
  5. Settle down. No one's bashing them, here. It has a lot more to do with subtleties of tonality than whether someone is a good singer.
  6. Is it the Pro Tools file of Pushing Me Away? Didn't that leak during the Reanimation sessions? Edit -- I'm trolling. No such thing exists. Congrats on getting the site back together, guys! Really.
  7. Fort Minor Message Boards. They don't exist anymore.
  8. I've yet to see a thread about these videos that have been popping up on YouTube lately, and I think that's a shame, so here we go. There are two videos of Mike giving us a tour of his studio (I think it's called The Stockroom, but I'm really, really not too sure about that) and equipment, and another video of him talking about the use of Waves Plug-Ins on The Catalyst. I thought some of you guys, audiophiles or not, would appreciate this insight into the band's writing and recording process. Studio / Equipment Tour: Also, because it's relevant, here's the video of him doing a brief demonstration of his MPC 1000 set up: Waves Plug-Ins: Now, I can tell you right now... I have a LOT of the plug-ins that Mike shows off in the Waves video and Part II of the Studio / Equipment Tour, but they're NOT cheap. To be honest, what I really wanted from the bundle that Mike talks about are the splitters and spreaders. I don't think they were in the bundle I got... but the rest that he mentions are available, if you know what to do. Anyway, this stuff's really pro. Also, if you notice... in the effects chain for the Catalyst vocals... you'll see Auto-Tune. But that's natural for studio recordings... Tone is a more subtle than people give it credit for, so just because a band uses Auto-Tune to clear up any discrepancies in tone doesn't mean that they can't sing or that Auto-Tune made them famous. Got it? We all know that Chester and Mike can sing, so don't get too worried about the Auto-Tune, okay? Parting: I kind of want to job shadow Mike. How ridiculous is that? Haha
  9. EDIT: At first I was like: and then I was like: but then I was like: because I looked at the date and realized that Mike was: Meanwhile, Z's just over here like:
  10. Congratulations ZwieR.Z! I'm glad you got chosen, because you're a nice person, even though I didn't particularly like your remix. Meh, I couldn't really care less about xefusion. Since the FMMB days, (as LPFurby, I believe) he's been a little less than an asshole. *shrug*
  11. Yeah, I liked this one. We don't get to see much of Joe directing.
  12. In before "Studio time is holding up the new album."
  13. Yes. That's the entire point. Congratulations. Now continue being pompous while you've cleverly stumbled upon my irreverent self-loathing. EDIT -- Oh, wait. No, that wasn't the point. I was yanking your chain. The point is that people shouldn't try to make something what it isn't. I didn't say "don't judge," I said, "Don't mistake a lack of knowledge for stupidity." As for your rationalization that "long words justify nothing," of course you're right, assuming that those "long words" meant nothing. We don't just assign random terminology willy-nilly for no reason at all. They exist for a purpose. They mean something, transcendentally or not.
  14. Blog entry's back up... but no stems. Doesn't sound like there were any to begin with...
  15. I like the idea that Linkin Park would enable their fans to express individually how to feel about Japan... the song's title seems to work well with that idea. Obviously, the 'right thing to do' is to use the opportunity to support Japan, in a way you see fit, instead of worrying about notoriety or getting your name thrown up on MS.com. Or whining about their intentions or what Mike said. Don't make it about what they can do for you, it's not for you. "We're in this together," remember? EDIT -- That said, I'm a little upset that MS took down the post with stems, because I think that would've been an absolutely great idea.
  16. If MMA tells you about my intelligence, then I guess it's safe to say that you don't know the exact price of bananas in Timbuktu (you know, with the exchange rates of to USD to whatever currency they use in Timbuktu), and that tells me a lot about your intelligence. Or I could say that if you don't know desublimination from sub-dialectic appropriation, or aren't familiar with the subtle difference between objectivism and absolutism when speaking in an epistemological sense, that you're not an intelligent person at all. I'm not unintelligent if I don't know about something I don't care about. Sorry if that disappoints you. But in the future, don't make the mistake of insulting someone's intelligence because they don't have the same interests as you. Mmmkay?
  17. Not to be rude, man... but I think that this isn't news. What IS news is that this is the first sporting event that you've been to / heard of / seen / etc / since 2005. Remember the Name has appeared in every single sporting event since. I'm sorry, dude. But you've been living in a rock if you think that Remember the Name showing up in a commercial for a sport (albeit a fake and staged one) is a new thing.
  18. Yeah, that's what I thought, too, but then I went back and listened, and the (exact same fucking) turnaround isn't there. I guess that's enough proof that at one point they were writing a song for Transformers III, but decided against it, or gave up on it. Weird.
