I asked about the new album on twitter. They have 3 songs mixed so far. The above track is so much better than the initial new stuff.

We didnt, but this article and a new interview with mike where the interviewer says Hunting Party confirms it. Strange though, normally LP do a campaign and announce it, etc, but i recall chester saying they wanted the build up to this album. To be a little different to what they normally do.

Atleast with electronic you can make so many different sounds. You can with guitar too, but not to the same extent. BTW, looking over the track names, i went back to look at the screenshot of the song names in the making of GATS video, and i couldnt find ' Until its Gone '. But we knew there was a track called that. So where did that come from ?

Yeah im looking foreword to this album and all but I hope its a one off. Im gonna enjoy this album, but I already feel like I know what its gonna sound like, and there will be no surprises. I dont want all guitars, its boring. I hope the next one after this is unpredictable like ATS and to a lesser extent, Living things.

Thats my biggest problem with LP. The lyrics. Always the words ' lies ' ' inside' etc But then they write something like the chorus to W&K, which to me was mindblowing. I wish lyrically they wuld progress a bit.

In your opinion. I only compared it, because to me ATS is probably LP at their most technical and experimental, its the benchmark for me. The song is growing on me, I just hope it doesnt get old fast, like Burn It Down did.

Of course ATS was more adventurous. I dont think anyone would deny that. I like the whole raw and unplugged vibe going on, but it still feels a step backward. Less experimental if you would. I still dig it though, and this is only one song off the album, so who knows.

Sounds a step back to me. Although its fun to hear them this heavy, thees not much substance to this song. Its like their trying too hard to push this whole bringing back rock thing that Mike keeps banging on about. Lyrics wise its a bland, but most LP songs are. And an outside collab on a studio album track feels weird lol. I still enjoy it though, i just found songs off ATS way more adventurous and better sounding.

Its the same logo without the circle. Can be seen in the pic from the source files. Neat how when you go from LP.com to another site, the clouds fade and you can see the background colours and logo.

Have they actually give an ETA on roughly when the new album will drop ? I've heard nothing

Julien-K's studio versions of songs are some of the crispest slices of pure goodness man has seen. I feel the stripped down acoustic versions are weaker with this band. I love acoustic songs, but with JK the power is in the studio versions.

Not sure if this is right place, but here goes. I wanna get a DSP of this Living Things cycle, as I haven't bothered listening to much live clips off youtube, preferably this show would have good recordings of the new stuff, don't care about the old stuff really. Any recommendations ?

I realize this is a fansite mostly about theLive show, but if you want to hear something old im sure there's a bazillion youtube videos. Bring on the new I say, not the shitty BID, but stuff such as Lies Greed and other songs of the new album. I honestly couldnt give 2 shits if they drop something they play constantly such as New Divide, ITE, sucks if you go the particular show maybe yes, but since Im not I have zero intrest. I do however love seeing what new material sounds like live. If something gets dropped or a song hasnt been playedfor a few years, big deal, we got youtube lol. Just thought id get that out there, as there's always some complaining about something obscure such as a missing song on here, but I guess thats what makes us passionate fans. Anyways, anyone found a rip of LITE yet ? Not a huge fan of it, but I wanna see how it sounds live.

For those going on about rips etc, google is your friend obviously. Go search. Anyways, been waiting for it to leak forever, I dont see why people are gushing over LITE yet not liking things such as Roads Untraveled, etc I guess there's still a Hybrid Theory mentality around with most fans. Actually I may be referencing the LPA forum, I'm mixing them up ! Awesome album.

Thank God ! Now this is a song I'm so glad this is different from Burn It Down, weather you like BID or not, its nothing special, LP can basically write songs like that backwards, but this IS different and fresh. Kudos to LP.

Sounds like a cheapo rock song to me haha. ' Burn it down yeah yeah yeah yea ' or something crap like that. I'm sure I'll be completely wrong though, not trying to be negative. But ya cant beat The Catalyst s a single name, sounded so mysterious.
