  1. I disagree that "When They Come For Me" is against their old school fans. I am an old school fan and i didn't feel that song was directed at me. I think the song was more directed at the "fans" who can't keep up with the inevitable fact that the band is more than just Hybrid Theory and will branch out their wings to make other things besides Hybrid Theory and just want them to keep chugging out Hybrid Theory and nothing else even though reality dictates otherwise. Basically the childish group of people who don't care that the band gets bored doing the same things just like they do doing the same things. And that group of people is made up of more than just old school fans.

If you think the song is directed at you, then it probably is.

I think the song is more directed at the critics.

  2. James Montgomery, who writes a lot of articles on Linkin Park for the MTV website, posted a top 5 videoclips. Could be interesting.

At 12:01 a.m. on Thursday (August 26), Linkin Park premiered their brand-new video for "The Catalyst," the first single off their upcoming A Thousand Suns album. It's a dark, moody, abstract affair, full of swirling smoke, charred earth and rising tides, and, judging from the comments we got on MTVNews.com, Linkin Park fans totally love it. So that got us thinking: Is it good enough to rank among their all-time best videos?

Even though "The Catalyst" is barely 13 hours old at this point, it's clear the clip takes the band to places they've never gone before. But the short answer is ... no, not just yet. Sure, the video would probably land in the LP top 10, but we're talking about the best of the best here. So while it's undoubtedly good, it's not quite good enough to crack the band's top five. But give it some time. We're sure its impact will be measured in weeks and months, not hours. That's how Linkin Park videos tend to go. At least, judging by the ones we've selected as their five best:

Also interesting: Linkin Park's 'The Catalyst' Video: Kiss The Past Goodbye (New clip sees LP pushing the envelope even further), about how the band wants to go in a new direction with their sound and the video for "The Catalyst".

  4. Ya know...

Remember that random blog post Mike made a long time ago about how they made a song so awesome, it vaporized Chester's arm?

There was a painting of a hindu deity hanging in the studio right behind Chester.

And that quote sounds a damn lot like what we translated the message as.

It was Lakshmi, the goddess of music.

  5. If I'm right, Amazon was right about DBS, MTM etc. So it's pretty plausible. And LP releases are usually released a couple of days for the US date. The special presale of MtM was May 11, while the international date was May 15.

  6. doubt that's true. i went onto MTV and there was no such news as that there. It seems like a lot of people now are just bullshitting things to yield there own boredom. I highly doubt the release date would be revealed by MTV instead of LP. Plus MTV has gotten things wrong before....for now we have two sources:

    - German Mag....Sept.

    - MTV....Oct. (that one doesn't even have proof what so ever)

But MTV had a lot of things right, weren't they? ;)

I don't think that the message was from MTV. I can't find it and the information doesn't feel plausible either.
