  1. Some other rapper is on there too. It's both Mike and someone else.
  2. O2 Arena is going down. Edit: Or rather the company who arranged the 50 shows there.
  3. Haha funny! Chester voice sounds absolutely perfect now. Good camera work though.
  4. I'm sure he'll improve too, no question. But it's just that the songs he couldn't nail in the first place, never turned out too good, it got better but never perfect.
  5. The performance of New Divide was better than I had expected, instrument-wise. I think they got very close to the album version, keeping in mind they used a lot of samples, but in terms of guitar sound and the sound of Mike's synth, they were spot on. I feared it would lack power because there is no rythm guitar on the song, but it certainly didn't. Chester was off most of the time and pretty much ruined the song for me. Not surprising. Only good thing is that he didn't have much trouble hitting the high note at "distance in your eyes", which I had expected he would. When I think about it, he usually sings better when he is allowed to force his throat to the top, so it's not that strange. Still, overall, his singing sucked. But he rocked on Bleed it Out, really awesome performance. He did well on Numb and Faint too.
  6. I think you are overreacting when you're saying this is bad news. Wait and see. Mike has learned that shouldn't get our hopes too high, that's why he's saying it liket that. And I don't think lie is a very appropriate word for what they've been saying in interviews over the last decade. Believe me, I've been following them all the way too, and I have gotten dissapointed myself. But they've always told what they believed was the truth (release dates and delays for instance), so they've never been lying. And Astat, I think he is just pointing out their mistake, because you've been saying (which is true) that there is only one guitar in the mix and not a orchestration.
  7. In The End had pretty cool CGI in my opinion. It dosn't even look outdated today, considering it was released in 2002, and it fits the song well.
  8. Just because they will be playing with Chester on concert? Are you kidding me? Dead By Sunrise is a band, not Chester Bennington with random musicians. He wrote the "songs" - the melodies, but I'm sure the Julien K guys are not just in the background when it comes to how the songs actually ended up. They've had a huge impact.
  9. It makes Rob and Chester look cool at least. I don't know why Brad has to look so stoned when he's performing nowadays. I was expecting more, I would have loved to see the flying bandmembers in the breakdown, but oh well. And people talking about a second non-movie cut, is this confirmed?
  10. I think it's awesome, I love sex-lyrics.
  11. Random facts has been forwarded.
  12. Haha, you just reminded me that I have it on VHS, that's rare stuff!
  13. Yeah, I'm not. I'm refering to the octaves being played all over the song, it sounds like guitar to me, not synth. But who knows.
  14. Funny, I'm sure I can hear both a distorted guitar playing rythm and a guitar playing octaves.
  15. I'm not asking for a heavy song either. I loved MtM. I just think that the verses are too poppy. Overall it's a pretty neat song. Can't wait to hear it live, I'm a bit sceptical of how it will sound, I'm not sure they can pull it off, but lets wait and see.
  16. I don't like the verses, to much computer, I only like THE FACT that Mike's voice is doing so much harmony in the voices, keep doing that! I don't really like the guitar, to simplistic. Good things! I LOVE the breakdown, I hope Joe will be scratching it live, I don't know if that's possible. I love the way Chester sings: Across this new divide.
  17. I know it's just one song, but that one song still has a direction. You can't just ignore this song and forgive it for being bad, just because it's for a movie. And every song you put out is a statement, if LP put out a song like this today, it might be a preperation for whats to come, even though I don't believe that.
  18. I can hear it's not them for gods sake. I just said it sounded awesome, implying that it would be a nice direction for Linkin Park to go, compared to what I think of the direction it sounds like they have taken with New Divide. Sorry - Back on topic, just had to defend myself.
  19. Yeah, me too. Man I really want to believe it's Mike and Chester singing! The two vocals in that song sounds awesome together.
  20. Yeah, I'm very happy with that.
  21. That really sounds like Chester? And Mike in the background? But I really can't believe it from what Talinda said on her blog. Hmm. Edit: Nah, can't be the same song. Sounds good though.
  22. So dissapointed in that vocal clip. If this is what "new" LP sounds like... I don't even want to finish that sentence. It sounds so radiofreindly I could puke. I like Minutes to Midnight, but this is shit. And don't hit me with all that "judging the song before I've heard it", it's bs. Now I know that the melody of the chorus goes like that, I can garantee you that the rest of the song will have a just as cheesy melody as this one. But that's just me. Only good thing is that I like Chesters voice in it, but not the melody. If this is what the next album sounds like, then LP has turned in to the one thing I've never wanted them to be. I don't think it will, I predicted this was going to be a soft song, because of the fact that it's created for a mainstream film. I'm just in chock that the song is THAT poppy.
  23. That would be cheesy.
  24. That's not right at all. He is generic yes. But he is not not the less skilled member in the band, he just knows what bass playing fits LP and that's not flashy bassplaying. If you hear his work on Tasty Snax you will realise that he is a pretty awesome bassplayer, it sounds very fast and very skilled. I have a feeling he knows his way around the frets of a guitar/bass better than any other member of the band.
  25. But here it's not only the chord progression. The sound of the Strat (yes, they used the same guitar for WID and this one), the drums, the rythm, tempo of the two songs sounds very close. I'm not saying the song ends up being like What I've Done. But since I've always found that song boring, I have a feeling it's going to be the same with this one.
