  1. We’ve not confirmed how early the full lyrics came together, even though it was a quick process. It might be that they had the full lyrics conceived before even entering the studio, but it’s probably more likely it took a very tiny piece of the writing at NRG. It’s also possible Numb’s demo wasn’t even full length like the other demos, and just a short idea, with the track’s actual first version being conceived at NRG. It was written a week before going into the studio, so they had something of a demo or idea before beginning recording the album still.
  2. You're likely right but it probably got accidentally swapped with "THE CURE", a shortened version which would've made more sense to be a working title for PMA. "Harmonic Song" might've been an earlier title for it. Jeff Blue, if im correct, said a working title for PMA, which might mean something there.
  3. This was someone's reddit "theory" actually so not mine originally but I find it very interesting. Here's the original post if you want to see it: Basically, if you remember, later albums have this pattern where the closer song holds the working title of the album's instrumental. (Example: on LIVING THINGS the working title of Powerless is TINFOIL (The two are relatives however) on The Hunting Party Working title of Final Masquerade is DRAWBAR) But even also on Hybrid Theory, Pushing Me Away holds the name "CURE FOR MR HAHNS ITCH" in the Studio Finals CD, which we all know what track title that sounds like. This COULD potentially mean Numb's working title might actually have been SESSION, and then they gave that name to the instrumental. It also makes sense because the band conceived the track just a week before going into record for the album. Maybe that was the title Mike or someone in the band quickly gave it when opening a new session. Just something simple and quick. The only thing that throws a wrench into this idea is the fact that Session had (-) dashes across BOTH the vocals on the red song tracking board and the dirty guitar, which we know Numb has on it. BUT it is possible it was still the working title for Numb, then soon given to Session (the instrumental) right when the band went into the studio, then Numb was conceived quickly so either it didn't need tracking or it was tracked elsewhere in its quick process of recording. So who knows that might be totally wrong. Maybe this idea has been brought up before also, but not that I've known. It's definitely something. If not "Session", maybe Numb has another working title like "Moon" or "Ugly Face", but it definitely has something of a working title.
  4. Probably. Ive seen a lot of other albums use that wording too. Maybe its a thing a certain company uses. I’d assume it’s the wording for some alternate official selling source of it, not sure which one. Though Warner is the main official one. I don’t know how any of that works though really, not an expert on that. Might spend some of today to go through LP music again and remembering the dude and his unmatched musical ability. Happy birthday to Chester, today (20th)
  5. That is pretty dang cool. PMA vocals are a bit slowed down I think. Halo is a little slower. But it fits in nicely Edit heres a HQ version
  6. I am aware of the significance of source provision. I was concerned of getting banned if I did. Was not familiar with any link rules around here. Settled.
  7. I can imagine a finished version with better drums, the finished Meteora guitar sound, and Chester's vocals on it. I don't think the lyrics were all the strongest, but it could've gone farther. A great demo for sure it's one of my favorite Meteora demos. I think Halo and Attached will always be my favorite Meteora era demos though, even though they're both instrumental. I feel like Halo is a very unpopular favorite but it's just one I could've seen getting finished with full vocals (also having the loud ass guitar part in the chorus cleaned up and redone at NRG) and being damn amazing.
  8. Hellll Yea man!!!! I sure was!!! (What is this so seemingly passive aggressive ass comment lmfao 🤣
  9. I don't even remember typing that honestly, but also I'm not here to be a top web whizz who knows every unspoken rule of the internet. I'm not like the most"internetly" smart or anything. I don't even participate in many other threads other than here. But no, I guess I don't normally like to be the one to post links in a thread like this, if there's not a good enough reason.
  10. Foreword is just another word meaning “intro”. Actually for several years, I read it as “Forward”. I never actually realized or paid attention to that until a lot later on. I think It was Recorded at Mikes house shortly before mixing the album, when the recording was al(most) done. Just smashing of a shitty CD Player/Burner with a baseball bat on a metal table, and a bang (no idea what that is) and some water sounds. All in 14 seconds For some reason I had the idea that it was made in like February 2003 before the album came out, I don’t know why or where the hell that idea came from.
  11. Meteora “digitally remastered” ^ In a web search and you’ll find them. No not saying they haven’t been mixed again, all songs on CD1 are still 2002 mixes by Andy Wallace. Mastering is by Brian “Big Bass” Gardner.
  12. The release I’m referring to yeah, CD version of Meteora 20. But no that one doesn’t say remastered in the description. A handful of sales I’ve seen do though. What they say specifically “Deluxe three CD edition. Digitally remastered and expanded 20th Anniversary.” A lot of artist rereleases say those same words for remastered albums.
  13. Yes I’m aware of what remastering means. A little mistake on my behalf, I know the Lost demos 2-14 were not mastered before, I just forgot to specify that. My bad There are numerous sales I have now seen of the 3CD stating the album has been digitally remastered on that release. So that answers that.
  14. Is it actually said the Deluxe CD holds all the original 2002-2003 mastering? Because from what I heard the songs were remastered with the release. Everything in Lost Demos was, so if no word on it, the original Meteora album and most else, at least studio tracks on Meteora20 probably were too. I don’t think LP has ever given their stuff “remastered” labels on re-issued remastered songs and things very often get remastered on a re-release.
  15. I don’t actually think it’s the mix Andy did but actually rather the mastering in the deluxe CD Lost is the reason it sounds the way it does. Maybe they did it like that on purpose to make it stand out a little more as it is labeled “2002 mix”, or give it a more “demo” feel, or some other reason idk but it’s a possibility the actual mix itself could sound cleaner than the one on the Meteora20 CD. But we’ll never know that for sure, unless ITF they include it on a Meteora re-release again, and it actually sounds a little better.
  16. Lol I did not forget about this album
  17. What a way to put it. Some emotional shit fr Makes me remember that I miss the guy a lot, wishing he was still here to make albums man. He was a legend, though and we’ve still got all this awesome stuff in the vault which is awesome, like getting brand new songs every time. Hearing Lost felt sort of like a brand new Linkin Park song because they gave it a modern touch, which was a really smart choice on that release and not just throwing the old track itself to the public. It makes me happy knowing we’re getting and will continue to get releases from the band to put out that unheard stuff that’s great.
  18. Friendly Fire sounds great. Sounds perfectly like an OML album track. I’m excited to hear this one. Felt that feeling all over again seeing that instagram post, of when Lost first got announced last year lol
  19. Rob said they had initially 18 songs entering NRG and recording drums on, so it was probably A.06, Healing Foot and one other, I’d guess Massive, maybe even Soundtrack or something was in there if A.06 didn’t count as a song then, were the 3 that got taken out very early on (likely about just after or during recording drums) while the band was narrowing down, then to the decision of working on 15 full songs. Likely that particular red song board was first made when the band decided on 15. Previously it was thought the blank space with only drums marked was HF, but no it’s probably Numb. No working title known, it probably didn’t even have one, and they said it came together quickly and effortlessly so they might just not have bothered to track the progress after finishing drums because of how fluently it came together afterward. Now I don’t know if it’s been revealed what the song on the blank space was, so if it has let me know
  20. Yea, I forgot to specify this but obviously they would of course have to publicly specify that it is exclusively the original mix of the song, not just slap the 2002 mix on the collection and call it a day. My idea was I think because it’s their newest successful single, and Meteora 20 just happened, using the other version of it now, more publicly would be a cool addition and also for the sake of matching the other tracks that it sits in the same boat as historically, and this time to present how the song originally was back in the day, and also mix in a bit more of the classic early 2000’s vibes into the collection. The mixes of a lot of these songs are older anyways, so it wouldn’t be far off for anyone to care I don’t think. Also I don’t think anyone who doesn’t know about the old mix would think “ew, this doesn’t sound right, I hate linkin park now”. They might realize it sounds a bit different, but in reality most people immersed in the collection probably wouldn’t care or even acknowledge it, and still be vibing with the song. Saying it doesn’t sound right is like saying the old mix sounds poor quality. No. This is a collection of songs dating back to 2000 up to 2017. Andy’s mix is as finished of a mix as Manny’s. Both are finished mixes of the same 3 minute 20 second length song, that might be different sonically but retaining identical structure. And most listeners would not be that harshly critical of the mix, just saying. Really, I thought it’d be a cool addition for the close OG fans of the band, because it was my wrongful assumption the long time fans who knew the 2002 mix loved it, but I kinda learned today that’s not really true. It was just a personal idea… I thought it was cool, but I know it’s not needed, but it would be a cool touch also just to give credit where credit is (somewhat) due to the original version.
  21. No, not necessarily. I don’t think PB would’ve made it that far either. Also keep in mind High Voltage has been confirmed for a while now to be one so that means there’s only two other ones not three, i think.
  22. I agree on that they needed to do a little touch up. The original mix though, is the same song at the end of the day, but it’s very different sonically from the newer mix, so since they have 2 mixes on the table, some variety is always nice, especially if this is like a historical collection of hit songs from their discography. All i’m saying is it would be cool if they used that version on this upcoming release, only upsides i see and no downsides to it this time around I know That 808 you’re talking about and I agree. It’s a drum machine sound and it does sound like a bit of a car wreck, in combo with the guitar and bass but it’s meant to, to give a certain heaviness in the context of the song’s structure, that isn’t really acceptable by today’s mixing standards, but would be in 2003. The volume of that track is turned down in the newer mix. You know what’s interesting is that Mike said, it wasn’t so much about Andy as it was the sounds they gave him to work with to work with. so the band was in the year 2002 where mixing standards are different, but also the song was being mixed for the first time. So I believe at least most songs that have been revisited and mixed again for a second time, the original version would start to show its flaws, especially if it’s a mix that’s 20 years older.
  23. The most likely case is it’s probably literally those 3, which is what I had originally been thinking. Step Up and And One versions that are the farthest along they got would be actually dope to hear.
  24. They were definitely recorded. Chester Vox on Resolution (Lost) had one slash over it, which means recordings were partially done. Two slashes (X) was for fully finished and decided tracks. So it was in partially completed form at that time, but not settled on, and still receiving rewrites though so not necessarily meaning they saved the vocal recordings that were taken out and replaced from the songs.
