Same. And let me tell you, I like SFN and Invisible a lot more than most of PT.

As highly anticipated, the DC Dark Nights Death Metal soundtrack is due out today, June 18, in digital form. As part of the soundtrack, Grey Daze released a new version of their Dramarama cover “Anything Anything” created with Tyler Bates. On Instagram the band called this “Retro Version”. Check it out below. They are releasing a different version on the next Grey Daze record.

I get what you say, as you can see, I gave a lot of “good but not great” ratings, because I feel the same way

Oh ok 😊

Say it ! Super interested in other opinions

Hadi - Clarity (Produced by Mike Shinoda) // Out June 17, 2021

Not a fan of the vocals, but Mike’s production is A+ -
Maybe. Despite not being a big fan of the song, I was shocked to see that MIUAIG wasn't huge as a single
-
Ok legit, but I totally disagree
-
I love the flow on IOU, even tho it's out of place on the record. Why do you call it "track" ?
-
PT was crucial for I guess all of us in processing Chester's passing and grieving, but now, 3 years later, with a bit less emotional involvement, how does the album sit with me ? As someone who isn't a big fan of what Mike has put out since 2019, I decided to make a simple track by track of the record, just rating and a little comment. Feel free to comment below. 1. Place to Start 7,5/10, super emotional and smooth intro. 2. Over Again 8,5/10, the hardest song to sit through, super raw and emotional. Great flow by Mike, that first verse is still unsettling. 3. WAIF 7,5/10, bouncy flow, still pretty solid lyrics, love the little instrumental bridge. 4. NMSA 7/10, naked as it should be, seen the lyrical content. I feel a little bored while listening the whole song, but still pretty solid. 5. About You 7,5/10 Great flow, love Blackbear feature (I started listening to his music after this song). Not a fan of the repetitive ending. 6. Brooding 6,5/10 Nice instrumental. 7. PICK 8,5/10 Great track, the closest to what I guess LP would sound like if they make a new record. Amazing lyrics. 8. CAL 6,5/10 Here is where things start to get meh for me, I really don't like the "lullaby" kind of effect the verses give me, the chorus is ok, the instrumental is cool. 9. Hold it together 6,5/10 Super bouncy, I always felt weird for how the beat is too "happy" as opposed to the lyrical content. Always gave me Fort Minor "Believe me" vibes. I always felt a bit bored halfway through the song. 10. Ghosts 5/10 I really don't like Mike's vocals here. It always sounded like a super silly song to me. The only thing I like is the LP-ish bridge. 11. MIUAIG 5/10 Never liked K-Flay, really not my thing. The rest is ok, nothing special. Still, I get these "lullaby" vibes in the pre-chorus which I'm not a big fan of. 12. Lift Off 7/10 Solid song, I wish I liked it more but there's something that doesn't really click me the way it should. 13 IOU 8/10 Banger, great Mike flow. maybe a bit out of context in an album called Post Traumatic, but it's cool. 14. RFMS 7/10 My only "problem" is Grandson, I don't like his voice that much. The rest is cool. 15. World's on Fire 7/10 Nice song, I like the lyrics a lot. It's a bit generic sounding in the actual musical landscape, it could even be another artist, but it's nice. 16. Can't hear you now 6,5/10 The rap is great, same for the pre chorus, but not a big fan of the chorus. It's another song that could have been made by another artist, and it's a bit repetitive. (Prove you Wrong: 4,5/10, see the problems I have with Ghosts (and Welcome) but worse; WTWM 7,5/10 very NIN, moody and dark).

My Life On MTV: Linkin Park to Air Tonight

Even the layout of the page is sooooo 2007. I love it. I miss putting MTV on to see if they played LP and turning the volume up to 11 when WID/SIB/Numb/... came up. -

👌 I thought he meant he didn’t want to write a heavily radio friendly rock song -

Yeah definitely, the relevancy of the MTV Awards is due to the fact that it’s an MTV product lol. But yeah LP was never that kind of band. The problem with MTV and that kind of media is that they treat every artist the same, as if Katy Perry was bothered for her album to flop the same way LP was bothered by THP not hitting #1. I remember the title “new Linkin park flops and lands #3 on Billboard” 😂. I mean of course artists aim to success, I think there’s no artist that wishes his record to flop lol, but some of them see things differently and take artistry into consideration (like LP not making “some WID shit” working on ATS or not phoning in another LT in 2014). As Mike said on that Fantano interview a few months ago, they always tried to balance between commercially appealing stuff and more experimental/risky stuff -

😂😂 yeah an unthinkable low with meanwhile MTM going platinum everywhere a few months after the release and WID crowned as one of the most successful rock songs of the decade 😂😂😂 The weirdest thing is MTV treats LP like Maroon 5, a band obsessed by success and “oh no our song wasn’t #1 it’s a failure” when they did stuff like ATS and THP that basically were a giant “Don’t give a fuck about mainstream music” lol. If LP were bothered by not winning the award they wouldn’t have done ATS after MTM for sure -

Yeah very mid 2000s, something I would have recorded and saw coming back to school more than a decade ago. Yeah lol for the VMA part 😂😂 I mean winning an award is important but MTM debuting #1 in literally every country and selling a million copies in the US in 2 weeks was a thing 😂😂😂 -

God I expected it to be a old documentary and then THAT thing came on screen ...😣 anyway it’s great to see something LP related in 2021 on MTV -

Minutes To Midnight (Alternate Tracklist)
Soeffingnaive92 replied to Chazy987's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Rick is awesome, without him the band wouldn’t have grown to create such masterpiece like ATS, but when it comes to MTM, there’s always something that makes me feel bored by listening to it front to back, I don’t know the exact reason -
Yeah 5 out of 6 members of the band are still there and they can do great things still honoring Chester’s memory and legacy. I don’t want to speak for Chester because who am I, but I’m pretty sure he would have never wanted LP to end with him. He was never that kind of egocentric frontman who thinks he’s the crucial member like “you’re nothing without me!”
-
Totally agree on this, it’s a new chapter and Mike stepped up as a singer a lot. I don’t want to write down set lists or stuff like that but we all know Mike can sing a lot of post Meteora songs on his own and the crowd can support him with classics like ITE, faint etc. The retirement of songs they can’t perform at all without Chester (BTH, BID, ND...) is not a problem, it’s a new phase

Minutes To Midnight (Alternate Tracklist)
Soeffingnaive92 replied to Chazy987's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Yeah MTM and THP are the records where I’d have personally changed the tracklist order, no complaints obviously because I can listen to the songs in different order lol but with these two records I feel bored by the tracks order -

Oh I can see it, but I was never big on the songs order on MTM, like the Valentine’s Day to LTGYA sequence, but it’s my own personal view -

In my head GU and BIO should have been consecutive, LOATR between the 2 is quite weird, it’s like Victimized between COG and RU
