  1. I don’t like tribute bands that much but I take HT (tribute band) as a homage to LP and their art, so no deception at all, just something I personally am not a big fan, but respect them
  2. I love the host of this conversation, she sumed up the reason why I and us fans love LP so much.
  3. Chester only has writing credits on HR and Heavy off OML, yeah. Totally agree on lyrics fitting the vibe of the album sonically, imagine screaming and heavy riffs on OML (song) or a pop leaning NCSM-ish instrumental on Given Up, lol. HT and OML reflect sonically the vibe of their lyrics
  4. The point is not that, to me the point is that LP wrote really good lyrics in their career (even Mike as a solo artist did that on stuff like OA or Promises I can’t keep), but the OML hate even on the lyrics really bothers me, especially if the “role model” for lyrics is HT where you have some great stuff but even some songs where the lyrical content is as generic as the worst OML track. I hate when there’s this generalization in concepts.
  5. Lyrics are bland but not the worst lol, do you think runaway or APFMH have Better lyrics ?
  6. The synths remind me of Numb, and it could sit on LT with songs like IMR and IBG very easily
  7. People literally make memes based on some HT lyrics... like, some of them are good but some others are kinda cringy or kinda generic... Like, to me OML (song) is a lot stronger than most of stuff on HT lyrically. Invisible is a strong song about being a parent and HR is 100% Chester
  8. Talking about the lyrics ? At least it's not "GIMME BACK WHAT'S MIIIINE" or the generic anti-something lyrics like AFN and GATS. If you're talking about the sound, UIG sounds more like modernized Meteora/LT than OML dude
  9. I like UIG to be honest, I know I am the black sheep lol. But yeah, GATS is iconic among the fans but was not "GH level LP song".
  10. Yeah, kinda weird move. Personally tho, I wouldn't have included GATS on a GH, like, it was nowhere near as succesful as any other song on Papercuts, FM has twice the streams of GATS on Spotify and crossed 150M on YT IIRC.
  11. Like, LOATR was massive back in the day, but yeah FM had to be there, since it was quite big at least in alternative radio. Totally omitting an entire album out of "only" 7 records is super weird. Plus, no SOTD is super weird too since it was everywhere on the radio and peaked high on Billboard, like, higher than anything post New Divide...
  12. Yeah like, even if THP is my least fav LP album and the least succesful by the band, leaving the album out of a GH compilation makes no sense, even more in the case of a band with relatively short discography, like LP is not Black Sabbath, make it 21 songs and put FM on it at least
  13. To be honest I am glad I did not purchase a special pricey edition of this release, considering the issues present many of you are talking about. I am super happy this release got us FF, one of my fav LP b-sides to date, and QWERTY on Spotify. As for the rest, I hope the release spreads LP fame among the casuals and potential young new fans. As many here said, this release is not exactly for us diehard fans but for someone who would go “oh wow, this 2006 song called QWERTY wasn’t on any album and it’s so heavy”
  14. If we are talking about lyrics, you can't deny OML >>>>>>> THP, like the latter has some good lyrics like Rebellion or FM, but the generic anti - something stuff a la RATM is ehhh
  15. NO MATTER WHAT YOU SEE, YOU'RE STILL SO BLIND TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  16. Friendly Fire blows THP out of the water lyrically.
  17. I can see LP being back but without Rob... kinda sad. He wasn't part of anything post the HB concert IIRC
  18. And the "oooohs" are very different.
  19. It’s so jarring and weird to have the album versions on Spotify, like, I can go past the 1 second of Blackout at the end of WFTE, but having the walkout noises and Chester talking at the end of LOATR and then there’s no BIO right after but another song (Lost or Numb, don’t remember the tracks order) is ehhhh
  20. I still do like the studio version of QWERTY but I have the same issues I have with some THP tracks. About the title, I think it is a similar situation to Figure 09, the title matched with lyrics would be “behind your lies” as much as Figure09 could have been “become you” or something like that, but I love them keeping the demo title
  21. Transitioning from OML to BID is so jarring 😂😂😂 I like the tracklist order
  22. YOU HIDE BEHIND LIES ! The visualizer is kinda cool, very LPU retro, almost ATS vibes kinda graphic
  23. YOUR LIIIIIIES ! BLAAAAA
  24. Yeah this one sounds like a watered down and simplified version of Not Alone and Holding Company
