  1. I'm trying to identify with the things Geki is talking, so i keep my expectations low. That's the best way to be surprised. With LT and THP the band said too much about the albums, about how the music was amazing. And i think this was one of the reasons the albums got older fast for us. We were expecting epic songs, and they were good but not epic. I'm always amazed when i watch LT making of, the buried at sea demo (burn it down). When Mike and Chester try and fit the chorus on the song, they both get so excited like "wow, this is amazing, this is the best song ever, this is the one." So it's an example of how their word about their own music is something we should not take so seriously. And now, every album they're doing something different and something new. We already are always expecting something innovative, and this creates a big hype. I wish LP did some "normal" albums in a sequence (2 or 3 very similar), so the next one would imply a bigger impact. Trying to always be innovative can be a shot on your feet.

  3. This topic is lowering my expectations on the record, and that's good. I'm sure i'll be surprised.
  4. Nah, man. LP can be pop, but not that kind. Far away from that. This is boyband pop, made for 13 y/o girls with "crushes" on older boys. LP's sound is always more mature.
  5. Shitty pop music. LP just can't go this direction.
  6. I just stopped doing this. Last time i did it was almost a year ago and i thought the album was gonna be released august 16
  7. In 2012 LP did 4 shows in Brazil. At first, the venues were in São Paulo, Rio, Curitiba and Porto Alegre. The Curitiba show was cancelled a few weeks after the start of selling tickets, i think it wasn't doing well. Then they added another show in Rio, which basically had the same people on audience both days. In Porto Alegre it was supposed to be at an football (soccer) stadium, for 25000 people i think. Again, a few weeks after the selling started, they changed it to a closed venue for 10000 people. (They didn't expect the people that was going to Curitiba would go to Porto Alegre, so they could've fit those 25k easily). After that, until now, they did just a few shows per time in south america. I guess they got scared about how the numbers were low. LP is fucking big here in Brazil, but mostly it comes from the casual audience... the people that know the hits playing on radio. Those aren't the ones that go to the show. At least here, LP is a band that brings only the people that really knows them, there are a lot of casuals and they don't attend the concert. In 2004 they filled the Morumbi stadium. 70000 people i think (could be wrong). LP can do lots of shows in South America and sold out them all, but they need to be on mainstream even if just a little, so the casual people goes to the concerts as well.
  8. I can see they promoting this album a lot. I don't think they will release anything out of nowhere. They need better marketing/advertising this time. So maybe at the first week of january they will announce the single to be released at the last week of that month. And then the album at march or something like that.
  9. I don't know. Maybe andrewgoldstein, as his twitter.
  10. I feel like there's room to one more south american show. But i guess they wont do it. Brazil could have another one, but maybe they come back at RIR.
  11. I've been listening to some radio stations lately, and i'm a little scared. There are too many "Coca-cola songs" out there, right now. I mean, they aren't bad... but they are so simple and repetitive. I really don't want LP to go on this pop up-beat vibe, Imagine Dragons style. This kind of music won't be remembered a few years from now. Well, i don't know what to expect about this album. We're thinking this is gonna be a chill one, but in fact the band never really said that. I just hope it ain't no coca-cola music.
  12. Well, if there aren't more shows in Brazil... there will be some shows in another South American countries. As Hahninator said, this 6th to 13th gap is pretty big.
  13. Well, somebody should take a flag to the show written "When you come to Brazil?". The thing is, they going only to São Paulo is like all Europe having just 1 show. I, for example, have to travel 1000km to get there.
  14. Put some more information on the post, please. On the may 6th the show will be in Buenos Aires, AR. And on 13th in São Paulo. I'm hoping for more shows in Brazil. This is an immense country, just one show will not do for everyone.
  15. Impressive how much people like Pale. Actually, it's no so impressive, this is a great song.
  16. Before coming to South America, the album must be released and we should hope it got some #1 hits. Then they could come down here and have more public to watch.
  17. I feel betrayed about Burberry (Space Station). If they are saying it's from 2015, then they could be wrong about all the others demo too.
  18. Isn't the LPU release date promoted with some antecedence? Or they just drop the content from nowhere? I can't remember about the last years.
  19. About the lyrics... Sometimes we don't think about how hard it's for an artist to write personal lyrics. It's about their lives! We forget they are people and have their own families, problems, sickness.... but it's not easy to talk about it. You know, it's hard to talk about your problems to someone close to you, now imagine writing a song that all the world will hear. They have to lose the shame and learn to open their hearts. That's not easy. Sometimes you fear to expose too much, and fear what people will think about that.
  20. Very short notice, ain't it?
  21. I just noticed in this picture Goldstein is on Reddit! We may be able to get some AMA with him.
  22. I guess they're not releasing any updates just to not drag away attention from LPUXVI. December may be the month where the hype really beggins.
  23. Could someone explain to me why they don't play in Spain? I remember just the Madrid show in 2010.
  24. Haven't they done a No Roads Left version with Chester's vocal on it? If so, i want it.
  25. "Linkin Park shows: 976" How are we going to celebrate the 1000th?
