Yep, totally related to that incident. I see it as a joke, even the folder name to be uncovered is "Masters to Review", which if i remember correctly was the name of the folder on Mike's computer.

"Determine if this is Carousel" HAHAHAHHA amazing. What a great work.

i think the unique OML polaroids were an AMAZING item. You are the only person in the world who owns that thing. HT20 should've something like that... each person having a unique version of something, in a limited edition. I think they'll buy and get the full first footage on Mike's apartment, and turn that into a DVD... mixing with some comentaries and other making of HT footages. There's so much to think... let's just wait like Adam said.

"One Step Closer: From Xero to #1: Becoming Linkin Park" Book
silverwing replied to LPLStaff's topic in Newswire
Is it the first LP-related biographic book? -
I'm starting to get a little bit tired of those instrumentals by Mike. Don't get me wrong, i really like some of them and enjoy a lot that he's being so productive and releasing stuff. But won't it worn us all out? Like... when finally he decides to release a proper song or album, it won't feel that special because we have heard so much stuff from him.

I'll start saying I know nothing about music production or intricate details. The thing here is: Mike's style is very recognizable... most of his beats you can hear without seeing who made it and you know it's him. BUT i can't get what is that make them so recognizable. Could someone tell me what it is? I mean... there are so many different songs he made and yet it has his signature on it somehow. What makes Mike's style? Why do i know, even not being an expert in music in any means, that some random song i hear out of nowhere is something in Mike's style?

Sean Dowdell: "Chester was so bummed out" about "One More Light" criticism
silverwing replied to LPLStaff's topic in Newswire
I think this subject is like an elephant in the room with LP fanbase... The OML criticism could be one of the reasons that culminated on what we all know. Those guys heard so many shit about their music since day 1, anything they did was never enough. But with OML things were different, the criticism was way more personal. The songs were personal for the band, they worked hard on them. And i remember Chaz being really offended when some people said "OML sounds lazy, you didn't even worked or tried to do something". The band and the family will never blame any part of his death on the criticism, but we all can figure out that it had some impact on his ill mind. That's why i personally don't accept someone talking shit about OML nowadays. It's okay to not enjoy it, but respect all the burden it carries. -
Mike hoping to throw a "big party" for 'Hybrid Theory' 20th anniversary
silverwing replied to LPLStaff's topic in Newswire
Well, that's the first official confirmation that we will have something on october. When they did that first stream commenting the '00 concert, i thought they would do something every month. I guess they will release some webpage with all the photos and files we sent, or will make videos to the remastered songs with them. -
Chester really was unique, and i'm glad he had parallel projects... because that way we got to hear his whole range power. I mean, even LPU8 gives a sample of how much he could impersonate any singer. All those LPTV too, with him mocking and goofing around singing in many accents and styles. I could be very biased, but this man is top 5 singers of all time.

Since we are talking about HB... I missed some more iconic guest artists. I know the intent was to have "Chester's friends" there, but it would be way more memorable with a few more epic people on the stage... because Chester is one of those epic iconic rock stars and deserves to be remembered that way. It's really sad that Corey Taylor couldn't be there... or Jay-z... and many of those guys that Chaz played with on Camp Freddy or Kings of Chaos. I cried a lot watching, and it really was sentimental, but anyway to me it felt "small" compared to how significant Chester is.

Ohh yeah, just 3 of them were on the M&G in Porto Alegre. And Joe played wearing flip flops 😂
-
Reading about the rider, i remembered about Porto Alegre concert in Brazil, (october 12, 2012). The guys were almost 2h late on stage. That's so rare with LP. We heard things about misunderstending between them on backstage... almost like if one of them was almost gaving up on playing that day because of a discussion or something. Will never know if it's true... but the 2h delay sucked a bit.

"Drum Raw Stereo" makes it seem it's a drum file received from someone else. Rob maybe. And "Elephant in the room" is a GREAT song title/concept... because LP will always have this BIG elephant in the room.

Not a question, but i didn't knew where to put it. Just found the original HybridTheory website when they announced for the first time the name changing to Linkin Park. https://web.archive.org/web/20001204182800/http://www.hybridtheory.com/ That's a really cool thing to have saved on a drive. Keeping the .html file and so.

Awful video. I couldn't go through more than 30 seconds. So much cringe. There are many more fans out there that could pull off an awesome video. This is the opposite of making Chester proud. This is amateur work. I mean no disrespect directly to the fan that made it. But it's not at the level of Chester's brand.
-
I meant that... if he can't listen to Chester's voice... how is he working with HT20?
-
Fuck that was heavy. But i got what Mike is saying, and that's somehow a relief for his conscience. Chester orbited suicide a couple of times... those other times he was saved somehow. If someone saved him on the july 20th, we wouldn't know about it for years... probably until he tried it again and succeed. Depression is almost unstoppable. So, really, Chester's death wasn't anyones fault and no one could really prevent that...

How the fuck is Mike mixing the HT20? Or just listening to those new mixes?

DJ Z-Trip - "Walking Dead" (Vocal Demo) + Stories
silverwing replied to lpliveusername's topic in Newswire
Damn, that's so raw. This is how you can really tell apart an amazing singer. This voice touches you deeply. -
didn't BTH take something like 5 years to get done? I remember an interview with Mike saying it was one of the hardest songs to finish.

Mike Shinoda's New Album - "Dropped Frames, Vol. 1"
silverwing replied to Stranger's topic in Newswire
i was thinking about it... Open Door is about having some opportunities in life. And Mike opened doors for those fans singing in the song. -
I really want to know more about this game that turned into ATS. One of the worst decisions in LP's career was related to a game (the project spark with GATS video). And now we learn one of the best decisions is also game related (not doing the game and turning it into ATS)

too much hype on that russian girl. I hope the other winners sound better.

I couldn't stand original GD... i'd listen to 1 or 2 songs at the most. The production was awful... the recording sounded dirt and too much distorted. The instrumental was annoying (the drums mostly)... it was like every member wasn't playing for the song... they were just showing off. I'm not any kind of expert in music technicalities, so i enjoyed a lot most of the new songs. They sound clean, they sound modern, they sound refreshing. A little bit generic, yeah... but they gave me the same feelings as if i was hearing new unreleased Chester material. What i get is it may be worst for old GD fans, because the songs were modified a lot.... its like LP doing de HT remaster and changing the songs to a more "one more light" style.
