  1. I guess that... If there isn't any official statement to cancel the shows, they are still up and going to happen. Unless Linkin Park decides to make a statement in the next couple of weeks, but I start to doubt about it.

Those shows are still up on their website and you can still buy tickets.. I get the feeling that they will play it. If they would have know that they won't play those shows than they would have cancelled them already.

  2. I wonder, if we could come up with a list of locations attendees will represent. Maybe we can even decorate a venue with flags... Band historically used to put flags on stage to demonstrate their dedication to the fans, maybe this is the time when we demonstrate ours that way? Looking at the photos from the venue, seems like it is going to be possible.

That's a really nice idea. LPL staff members should organize something like that

  3. I have seen videos of Hologram shows with artists who's died, like Whitney Houstan or Michael Jackson (I don't believe that he died).

what do you think about this weird idea to do Linkin Park show with hologram and voice of Chester?

I watched the Michael Jackson performance and it kind of fits for a artist like him who had a choreography for every songs he played on his concerts.

I don't think that it fits for a artist like Chester who randomly did spin moves or whatever. I don't know but I rather have his voice coming through the speakers than a hologram

Yes. Looks like they are going to play them as the tickets are still for sale after it's been 5 weeks now, and LP made that statement saying they're going to build the future of the band.

I was wondering cause the concert is in circa 2 month and they need to let the fans know whether they play or not and if they still selling those tickets it would be kind of dissapointing to then cancel these 3 concerts.

  4. I think we can also expect some live audio or video album from last tour with Chester. It can be very successful commercially (we know at least 4-5 shows were filmed and probably audio from all shows recorded) and interesting as historic artefact. So, it's great opportunity for recording company.

I mean Download Festival 2014 with HT front to back would be epic to get this on a DVD or so

  5.

They played literally one song from THP on their recent tour so I don't expect them to play any of it in the future anyways, and if they did, Wastelands wasn't as hard as most of the other songs on that album vocally. Lol.

What does that have to with the required talent you need to sing GATS, Rebellion, A Line In The Sand or Keys To The Kingdom. Sorry, but you didn't even answer to what I said that THP songs indeed requires a lot of talent....

To understand what you wrote. Imagine they played only ITE on their recent tour, would you then say that HT songs are easy to sing and don't require talent? It doesn't make even 1% sense to me that songs only require talent of LP played every song on their last tour.

THP just didn't really came across to a lot of fans and they don't even know that it exists and they know it so why would they play ALITS ?

  6. Continuing on the pop train seems to be what they should do, and they could easily find a pop vocalist, since pop music doesn't require talent like the singing on the first three Linkin Park albums.

As much as I respect your opinion, if you wanna tell me that there is no talent required on The Hunting Party than Good Goodbye...

On the other points I can accept your thoughs and opinions, but I don't think downrating THP's vocals is the right way...

  7. To be honest, I don't know why they should change their name seriously?

We know that Chester was a huge part of LP and made the difference between LP with or without him. But Linkin Park is not just a band. Linkin Park is a damn big brand and as commercial as it sounds you can't just change a big brand such as LP.

Of course commercial matters are never above tragedies but the name "Linkin Park" is still their live even though they just named themselves after Chester joined.

  8. I probably said that a thousand times. If I am such a hardcore fan and after a long break, LP finally performs again - No matter what the hell they are playing, it could be the slowest or heaviest and shortest or longest setlist, I'd be glad to see them on stage after such a tragedy.

No one can expect them to perform, to be honest. If they say we are done, they are done. But if they decide to perform as 5 then the last thing you should do is to complain about their damn setlist, cause it is already tough enough for them to be on stage without Chester.

  9. Again, no way LP takes some random dude from YouTube who made good covers of LP songs.

They rather take Oli Sykes from BMTH than dudes off YouTube.

I mean, LP is not an underground band where it doesn't matter too much who their singer is. But if they wanna take someone else, they take someone who is well known in the buisness and already have great live performances.

Personally, even Aaron from Of Mice&Men is not a bad choice, if they decide to 'replace' Chester. He already sang LOATR and that he can scream (Of couse Chester irreplaceable when it comes to screams) is not a question since he screams all old Of M&M stuff

I still take the option, that Mike take over, even if he often said that after Mark left that they don't think that he alone is good enough.

  10. Mike does, like, 90% of Rebellion in some capacity. If he just does some rap verse over the bridge, it's covered completely. Same goes for Faint, just with the chorus, too.

Yep, go without the bridge and you bring some heaviness to the Setlist.

By the way: Is it ok to not only write custom setlist but also discuss them here?

  11.

Agreed 100%. There is only one answer here to me, and it's the 5 piece answer with Mike on vocals. We'd be SURPRISED at how much of the back catalog he can already handle and plus, Mike is the master at mashups and medleys (RTN/WFTE, or Castle/HHH). As time goes on, there will only be more Mike songs created. Just think about Invisible, Sorry For Now, Roads Untraveled, Iridescent, possibly Shadow of the Day, Leave Out All The Rest, a lot of the slower stuff Mike can handle no problem. Possibly Papercut, possibly Points. Nothing with screaming.

Mike knows how to mash songs up, or maybe even put a rap bridge where there was heavy screaming before.

Maybe close it with In The End full song each show and the crowd sings the Chester parts.

I see no way Mike can't handle this himself, it's too far into their career to bring in someone new. Mike is majority songwriter already in the band....there are potential top 10 hits and albums still waiting to be made. He can get it done and I'm with it 100%. The dynamic and chemistry just won't be there if they bring someone in. It's a very UNIQUE case where this happens to a band and they have two vocalists that can both SING.

Totally agree! They are not some random guys, who made music over the past waht? 20 years. They are friends and they know each other for their whole lives. And now that there is - sadly - no Chester anymore, it is time for Mike to step up. No pressure, but I rather have Mike in the spotlight than someone else who just recently came in.

And songs like ITE still will work. Fans would be happy enough to see them perform after such an incident and sing as loud as the possible could.

And even though their future is unkown - even for themselves - they already wrote in their statement that their can't really think not to make music and perform.

I think that this is the best option, but as Geki and others said - it is up to the band not for us fans.

  12. I don't really see them taking some random singer who they might not know. It is a higher risk than taking someone who is 'well-know'. They rather take Aaron from Of Mice and Men (I like him and he is a good singer and screamer) than some random cover artist from Youtube.

  13. I don' t want to seem cynical but a 5 men tour labeled as Linkin Park is not impossible, maybe in a couple of years, i mean, short setlist :

    Invisible

Iridescent ( band sings Chaz part)

LOATR ( stripped down like The intro in The last tour)

ITE ( crowd sings chorus and bridge as it already does)

AFN ( with band making gang vocals)

    Roads Untravelled

COG experience ( Mike can handle it with band gang vocals IMO)

Mike solo medley ( like in The THP world tour)

    Burning in The Skies

UIB ( he already played it with FM back in 2015)

    WTCFM

    Jornada del muerto

I know it s weird but i think it Could work in some ways, even THo The whole thing is so sad :(

Add some Fall-out/ mashup intro and maybe a shortened SFN version and you have a short but OK setlist

Oh and i Forgot HHH, In Between and BIO ( with The crowd singing as it already does)

A lot of people would think that this is a disgrace and brings bad light to the band for not respecting Chester.

But to be honest. Me as a fan would be already happy if they perform. Whether it is a 25 song set or a 16 song set. They can't allow themselves to now get under the rock and don't speak to their fans (Besids from their social media).

Now that Chester is sadly gone, all of us fans would scream his parts even louder.

Again, it is not up to me what they do but I really wanna see them continue and whatever way. No matter how long their break might be.

  14. I mean if you define a "very very long time" as 3 months then I agree. They still have to announce what's happening with Japan. They didn't cancel those shows and they're still on LP's official website to purchase tickets. If they were absolutely sure that they wanted to put everything to do with LP aside for a while they would have canceled those shows as well when they canceled the North America tour.

That's true. If they would know that they need 2/3 years off then they would have canceled these dates already. They probably gonna cancel these too

  15. Right. A life without LP can not be imagined.

And they are lucky enough to have such a talented second singer/rapper with Mike. Of course, a lot of songs are written for Chester but other bands could not even think about doing and performing more music, cause they don't have another singer.

  16. I think that it depends on who they would consider. For example, if they take someone like Aaron from Of M&M then it is a good fit, at least for me. He can do both singing and screaming and we already saw what he can do on the last ballad medley.

But it's up to then band what they do, but I really hope that they continue making and playing music.
