  1. If the band discontinue using the Linkin Park name, do you think they'll use the Name Xero?

I rather think that the other 4 guys will come over to FM, if they don't feel that they can continue under LP without Chester. With FM, Mike was always the 'lead' vocalist and it is possible that they think that this is the easier way.

On the other hand you have 'Linkim Park', the name itself is legendary and do they really wanna set Linkin Park aside. They probably have a bigger support in terms of the amount of fans knowing Linkin Park better than Fort Minor

  2. I think that fans will be happy to see them, no matter how many and what songs they play. I would not care what songs they play. I would be happy to see them play and perform again.

It would be a whole different scenerio if Chester is with them and then they play just 16 songs or so. Now that they sadly lost him they must realize that they have to be happy that they even perform.

    I hope they continue !

  3. Probably the biggest question that the band will have for themselves is going to be "What would be Chester's will ? Would he want us to carry on, or just leave it as it is ?"

So right. I still can't imagine that Chester wanted the other 5 to stop making music. But they need time to figure that out and need them to give them that time.

Personally, I can see them making music with Mike as lead vocalist, he is capable of doing that. Performing live is a whole other scenario since they depend on Chester's voice.

  4. I don't know why you don't want Linkin Park to continue. I can't even imagine that "One More Light" is the last album of the band. I know it won't be the same without Chester and I don't want them to make album in two years or something like this. They should take their time to think about all these tragic things and take a new singer, at least in my opinion. It would be hard to see Linkin Park on stage without Chester, I still can't believe that he's gone forever but it will be better for me (and I believe for many fans) if they'll release many albums in the future and OML wasn't the last. I know (at least I hope) that Chester would want Mike, Brad, Rob, Dave and Joe still make music as Linkin Park and would have nothing against it. Even if they'll take a long break after Chester's death, it'll be so great to watch five of Linkin Park even in five or six years.

Totally agree. I don't think Chester wanted Mike and rest if the guys to stop doing music. They have to do something. They have the talent ! But please take a break for 3/4 years.

  5. I don't think they will get another lead singer, and honestly I wouldn't want them to. I would be very uncomfortable calling it Linkin Park with any other lead singer. If the five of them wanted to release LP8 without him, that would feel kind of wrong to me, but I would definitely still listen to it. I think the only way LP8 would be feel right to me is if at least a few of the songs have Chester's vocals from demos we've never heard before. They have recorded so much I believe they must have at least a few album-worthy songs with Chester's lead vocals.

Aside from that, I think the best thing they could do going forward would be for the five of them to become the new Fort Minor. The name is well-known, and after Welcome they have a lot of freedom in where they could go next. I think between Mike's rapping and singing, with maybe some gang vocals from the rest of the band, they could pull off a FM album really well with the five of them.

So many question...it's tough. What wanted Chester for the rest of the guys? I can imagine that he wants the other 5 guys to continue and be free and continue making music. They can use their talent and luckly they have Mike, a now really good singer and rapper. I would not want to make such a decision...

  6. The thing is that I don't want them to waste their talents...Of couse Mike could do his FM thing but what's with all these other guys? I know that this loss his hard but they still can write songs as 5....It is easy to write but technically they are capeable of doing it but it is a question whether they wanna do it or not.

  7. This is so tough to answer. They can get a new singer, it could be OK for most of us fans but I don't know how that feels.

They could go on as 5 making music in 4/5 years only with Mike as their lead singer. I know that this sounds crazy but we know how good Mike can be - One problem is that most of their songs were made for Chester and not for Mike. You cannot do this like A7X where they put a 10 second playback into their live set, because their former drummer is not there anymore.

I don't see them 'breaking' up. This is not even the right term. They are not a built boyband, they are friends who know each other for their whole live.

I'm really curious for their statement. I see them taking a long break for 2/3 years and then decide what to do.

  8. Especially for those who never had the chance to see LP perform live - I feel sad for you.

I had the chance to see them twice, in Cologne 2014 and Berlin 2015. Seeing him watching Mike at this FM show was great too.

This is a legend in its own. He helped so many teenagers getting through bad days, depression and other bad things. His voice was so unique, smooth but at the same time we could see his pain in his voice, his anger. He helped so many bands to be what they are today. He will be remembered as one, if not the best, rock-vocalist of the new millennium with his unique style between screaming like a demon and singing like an angle !

    Rest in peace Chester....

  9. Tbh I think that Corey is so well known that he says what he thinks that even if his best friend was doing bad music he wouldn't even hesitate to say "Dude, you suck". And in fact even if its "I say I like it, even though its not true, because he is my friend..." then thats worse. I mean..Regardless of how close you are with someone, you should flat out say that something sucks if it does.

    Or is that just me?

I agree, that's why I think that what he said is what he meant...If something bothers him he says it (Sometimes too often and he is like the Trump of Metal)

  10. So wouldn't Chester. What is it then? Is it respect that either Chester or Corey would go and tell each other how much they hate each others songs?
I mean, Corey is a very outspoken man. If he does not like something he says it. Of course it is a bit different here, because both played together for KOC not a long time ago so it does not have the same impact as it would have if Corey came out of nowhere.

  11. A friend found a timetable of all bands that played on thursday with all the setlists and in the LP setlist appears alongside OML and WFTE... A place for my head instead Somewhere I Belong. Also no BS/NCSM was planned for this show.

Most interesting thing on this picture: Linkin Park (Nu Metal) :D

  12. http://lplive.net/statistics

We try to keep up with the crowd statistics here.

    80,000 is a lot.

People really enjoyed this concert it seems.

Chester's voice has been off and on for years. We didn't cover the HT and Meteora tours show by show but for sure when he was on drugs, very drunk, etc he has had off days. I'm sure a lot of stuff affects it, like the hot temperature outside etc. No doubt that they need a day off between every show....something we've advocated for for years. I think they will eventually shift to that since the sets are longer now than they ever have been. For sure it will get slightly worse as he ages. Like you said, 3 shows in 4 days is a lot.

Like what Metallica is doing right now in USA. Either 1 or 2 days between shows and you can keep your voice in good shape. And illnesses can happen to everyone, but when you are doing 3 shows in 4 days you can be healthy as fuck - thats definitely not good for his voice.

  13. Said that earlier, but when fans bought so expensive tickets to go to Hellfest with Deep Purple, Aerosmith and LP as Headliners, who are far from Metal, then they cannot expect the heaviest at those concerts.
I read a lot of complains not just about LP but about Aerosmith and Deep Purple as Headliners and if all the Metalheads really wanna spend what 180€ just to see all these "small" Heavy Metal bands than I lost my faith in this community :D

A reaction would be, if the festival did not sell out and tons of ticket would be left, but somehow a lot of people will come to the festival, but it will be more than interesting to see how the crowd reacts.

  14. Part of me doubts LP even tried to reschedule. They just don't seem like the type of band that cares. Maybe that's a wild assumption it's probably really difficult to reschedule a show.

I see Blink 182 changed their venue. They do a much more extensive tour of the UK (not just England). It'd be nice if LP, or whoever is responsible for arranging their tour, considered doing that again

Blink 182 is playing in July, weeks before LP's summer tour starts and we might not know every show for their asia tour in fall so they might have the same problem like they they had back in 2015, where shows were booked before Chester's incident happend.

  15.

Like Linkin Park could never start a set better than this ever:

    01. Mashup Intro #2

    02. Guilty All The Same

    03. Given Up

    04. Points Of Authority

    05. One Step Closer

    06. Blackout

    07. Papercut

    08. Rebellion

    09. Runaway

    10. Wastelands

    Ten straight heavy hitting bangers!

Probably the best beginning in recent years. They had a heavy beginning then followed by a soft/calm part and until the end they had a mix. They should have changed the medley with the new LOATR and it would be even better.

I prefer this setlist, even with the shortened songs, over the setlist right know...
