This should make everyone happy that wanted the band to continue. Linkin Park, for me, is over, but I didn't want all the fans who wanted it to keep going to be let down. I still like the community and I'm sure some stuff from 2008 and prior will find it's way online over the next years, etc. like it always does. Even if it doesn't, I'll stick around, to much people's dismay. But yeah, this is good news for those people.

Well like, I'm not even sure if that's what the song is about. It's just my interpretation. But I remember that Chester and Mike said the lyrics this time around were more personal to them, about their lives, etc. And now we know Chester relapsed in 2016, etc. Even if he didn't have a lyric credit, maybe he helped with lyrics. I remember Mike said that Chester really related with John Green.

Actually, I've always seen that song as extremely dark, lyrically. To me, it's about accepting your fate for what it is. Kind of like What I've Done, but more accepting it knowing that it will destroy you, instead of accepting it and trying to change it. I'm not sure if Chester wrote the lyrics for Nobody Can Save Me, but if he did, it's pretty concerning. You wonder if perhaps his addiction to alcohol was an influence on the lyrics, but I'm not sure about that. I know during the BBC interview in 2007 he said Given Up was written about how much he hated his life when he was drinking. It's probably not as direct.

Chester was such a rocker and rebel, it's weird to see him in something like this.

Mike wasn't really the ''frontman'', though. He even said before that the reason the band had two vocalists was because he knew he didn't want to be the lead singer. Mike is ''the glue'' of the band. He started it, he holds it all together, and he also did pretty much all of the behind the scenes work. But I'm not sure if he can sing all the old songs or like 95% of them. That's why they need a new singer who can sing/scream like Chester, if they want to continue as a full fledged band. But that doesn't mean the new singer would have to sound exactly like Chester or anything. Just someone who can do the style in ways. It's crazy how many are against a new vocalist. Well, I was at first, too. But it then made sense. I don't think the fans should pick, it should be whoever the band wants or feels comfortable with. And it's not a comparison to Chester in any way. That Tommy Vext guy doesn't seem like a bad fit. Damn, I would love a ten track LPU album full of demos dedicated to Chester.

Bleed It Out has become like my favorite song over the past month or so for some reason, I've been playing all versions of it, live, studio, demo, etc. I'd include that in my top ten for sure.

Pictureboard was originally intended to be released on LPU 9, but they ended up not being able to release it due to the sample, as Justin said. I doubt we will ever get an official release of the song now. But it's a possibility that someone could ''leak'' it someday. Haha. I'd like to hear it though, of course.

Wow, nice find. Pretty interesting. They probably did re-record it with Hybrid Theory. I don't think that's true. I know My December was recorded in Nashville, TN in 2000, but I think the rest of the band's music up to that point was all recorded in California. I think the next time they recorded outside of California was in 2008 when they started work on ATS, actually. Pretty interesting.

Hmm, I always assumed Esaul was written before Chester joined. And One has been mentioned several times. But I'm not sure if it's ever been properly determined what the first song he ever wrote with the band was.

I actually ended up making my own LPU 7 with the DSP files of the tracks because they're un-edited and also because of the New Orleans shoutout, etc.

I never understood why DTB didn't just have Chester's final chorus as the chorus each time in the song. I guess because EDM is supposed to be ''progressive'' and shit. But it should have been like that. If they did release the stems for the song, someone could make it with the final chorus as the chorus the whole song, plus make the song more structured like an old-school LP song.

True, but even Chester wasn't consistent on tour since like 2009. Yeah and the problem with that is that it's such an obscure deep cut that they probably will never play it again, especially since Chester himself wrote that song about his ex-wife. They need someone who can do most of the old singles and new stuff in the future. There are a few on my mind who would suit Linkin Park. Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire can sing really good and can scream brutally as well. Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon is awesome at both singing and screaming but I'm not sure he would ever leave Bring Me The Horizon for Linkin Park. Craig Mabbitt from Escape The Fate is also pretty good at singing and screaming. A lot of vocalists aren't bad.
