RogueSoul
is that true? =( we need more info I'll update as I hear it on Twitter. Caused due to winds. - Scaffold fell due to strong winds (Evidenced here: viddy.it/VTkfur) - Up to 20 people hurt. Rumors of deaths. - Happened outside the venue so the stage is fine. Broke a promotional stage. - Police everywhere. PICS: https://twitter.com/metrobabe/status...860608/photo/1 http://lockerz.com/s/259625710 TWEETS: Scaffolding at Linkin Park just fell on people. More to follow. #ctstadium #linkinpark Shit there some people seriously injured here, announcer calling for people who know CPR Looks like the scaffolding fell outside the stadium not inside. Outro w/ Extra Note) With You (2012 Ext. Intro; Ext. Scratch Outro) Somewhere I Belong (2012 Intro) New Divide VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY) Points Of Authority LIES GREED MISERY Waiting For The End (Apaches Intro w/ 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' rap; Ext. Bridge w/ 'Sabotage'; Ext. Outro) Show Notes: - Mike rapped a verse from 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' over the intro to 'Waiting For The End'. - Mike and Chester both sang part of the lyrics to 'Numb/Encore' over the outro of 'Numb'. - 'Bleed It Out' featured the Beastie Boys' 'Sabotage' bridge. - 'Papercut' was dropped for an unknown reason. Other Notes: - First time in South Africa and the continent of Africa. - The 7th LPU Summit was held before the show. - The sound was very bad on the floor, possibly due to the strong winds muffling the sound, so many people left after the first few songs. - Before the show, a large scaffold fell injuring several people and damaging part of a promotional stage. I'll edit this post if anything changes. Looks like setlist has changed slightly. RogueSoul
Sad to say that one of the fans who was injured died in the hospital. Following our performance tonight at Cape Town Stadium, we were advised that several people were injured as a result of the collapse of an advertising tower erected by Lucozade in the parking area outside the venue. We wish to express our deep sadness and concern for those injured and our heartfelt condolences to the family of the fan who died as a result of her injuries. Though we have had no relationship with the sponsor or the entity responsible for erecting the structure, we take the safety of our fans very seriously and our thoughts are with all of those who were affected by this tragedy. (From LP's FB page) Really sad... lgr
(I'll repeat what I said in the shoutbox) this totals 2 deaths at LP shows this year from structures surrounding, but not in the venues themselves and is therefore outside of the crew's jurisdiction. particularly with Jim Digby's recent drives to lobby for event safety, this must be a pretty ahrd blow to the band and crew. lgr
DSP will sound better, they will even edit the wind's noise lol you'll only hear the wind from the crowd microphones, and they only get turned up at certain points during songs. plus they'll have had wind mufflers on them so the noise probably hasn't even been picked up in the mix. Why is this not being talked about more?? http://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/wes...21#.UJtsv8WHeSo i think that it was a fail by the band not mentioning anything at the concert they could have said ''this song is for _____ and her family we are very sorry'' i can really imagine them saying this before the ballad medley.. anyway rest in peace soldier.. My guess is that I think at that time it wasn't 100% clear if someone had died yet, but they could have said something like "We heard about an accident outside the stadium before the show, we dedicate this song to those who were affected by it" or something. lgr
that and the band and crew would not have known the victim's name at that point either. apparently the family are not allowing the press to reveal her name anyway.
