lpliveusername Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 (edited) But those remixes were never officially released by the band like they promised and weren't requested by the record label. You didn't list the Remember The Name contest winner either. Edited November 4, 2015 by lpliveusername Quote
hahninator Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 I would definitely add it to the list and say "Planned to be released by the band but never officially released in the end." Joe even comments on the winner. "Great remix by The Dual Personality. A progressive, club friendly track, that I will definitely spin. Very moody and smooth, kinda like a good whisky." - Joe Hahn, Linkin Park It's a great remix. Quote
SergSlim Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 But those remixes were never officially released by the band like they promised and weren't requested by the record label. You didn't list the Remember The Name contest winner either. Yeah, we need to add Remember the Name (Kaschke & Mauer Remix). Were there any other official remix contests of Linkin Park related tracks? Ok, I've added both LITE remixes with notes, and added RTN remix to the list. We should make a wiki page out of this. Quote
lpliveusername Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Were there any other official remix contests of Linkin Park related tracks? The contests I remember: Remember The Name The Catalyst Lost In The Echo A Light That Never Comes Darker Than Blood And there were the mash-up contests at lpconcerts.com. "Burn It Down (Bobina Remix)" was a fan made remix the band liked and decided to release as part of "Living Things Remixed" (the tracks sent to people who pre-ordered the album). LPU members also got a download of LPAssociation's Viscera (fan made remix album) for the anniversary of The Hunting Party. There were also remix contests for Kick The Bass and Dreamland by Julien-K, but I know you're not going to list those. Edit: There's also that mash-up called "99 Steps Klosr" which was made before Collision Course was even recorded and received radio airplay. Warner even had an internal CD with it. SFNL14 Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Who's Julien-K, and what do they have to do with Linkin Park? They collaborated with Chester on his side project, Dead By Sunrise. Quote
LinkinParkerUA Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 Who's Julien-K, and what do they have to do with Linkin Park? Linkin Park -> Chester Bennington -> Julien K -> Dead by Sunrise Quote

Added links to Remix contest winner tracks. Gotta dig up lpconcerts.com official rules and winners. I'm not sure whether we should add Viscera to our list... And "99 Steps Klosr" is also under a question personally for me. Quote
Skipees Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I'm not sure whether we should add Viscera to our list... Does the band holding the rights to sell it? Quote
SergSlim Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Does the band holding the rights to sell it? If you're asking me - I don't have the slightest idea. Quote
Skipees Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 If you're asking me - I don't have the slightest idea. We can make it kind of a rule - if the band holds the rights = official remix. For Viscera, someone who's a member on both sites can ask. Quote
SergSlim Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Added Fort Minor (Linkin Park) / The Doors - Petrified - The Doors: Remixed and Ready (Promo CD) It is a bit different than the version on We Major. It has extra intro. Quote
zwieR.Z. Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 As for Viscera, it is an official Linkin Park remix album. The band obtained all the rights before releasing it through LPU. Quote
hahninator Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 it is an official Linkin Park remix album That's a bit of a stretch, the band did no work on it. Quote
martinez Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 That's a bit of a stretch, the band did no work on it. That's a price of it, if you want that your project has been published by them. Quote
zwieR.Z. Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 That's a bit of a stretch, the band did no work on it. Well, I get your point, but still, they got the rights and released it themselves as Linkin Park. That pretty much makes it official. Quote
mrfox Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 As for Viscera, it is an official Linkin Park remix album. The band obtained all the rights before releasing it through LPU. How it was released through LPU? On physical cd? Never hear that before. Quote
SergSlim Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 How it was released through LPU? On physical cd? Never hear that before. It was sent out by email in June 2015. Download link in the email is not working anymore, but I sent an email to TopSpin Media support and they reuploaded it for me. The archive is called: VISCERA (Linkin Park Underground Edition). Not sure if it has any differences from the LPA release, though. Quote
lpliveusername Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 That's a bit of a stretch, the band did no work on it. I'm sure the band did no work on a lot of other remixes listed here. Quote
SergSlim Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 But the tags in that Viscera album are somewhat strange. 1. Drawbar (Lizzi Cloverman) 2. Until It's Gone (Simple Automaton; Cypher; Broman) 3. War (RostaSliwka) 4. All For Nothing (Shurpi) 5. A Line In The Sand (DirtyBlup; Lizzi Cloverman) 6. The Summoning (minuteforce) 7. Smokescreen [Guilty All The Same remix] (minuteforce; Shurpi) 8. Guilty All The Same (MKH) 9. All For Nothing (zwieR.Z.) 10. Final Masquerade (Lizzi Cloverman; minuteforce) 11. Theories (Shurpi) 12. Wastelands (Cypher) 13. Rebellion (minuteforce; Simple Automaton; Shurpi; Cypher) 14. Keys To The Kingdom (Confetti Parade; MKH) 15. A Line In The Sand (minuteforce; Cypher; Broman; Decay; wEEKnIGHT pSYCHOPATH) 16. Mark The Graves (Xefuzion) Smokescreen and Theories are remixes for...? Quote

zwieR.Z. Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Smokescreen and Theories are remixes for...? Smokescreen is a remix of Guilty All The Same. As for Theories, it's an instrumental interlude. Pretty sure it's an original track, not a remix. Oh, and the LPU edition is actually slightly different from the LPA one. Quote
lpliveusername Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Oh, and the LPU edition is actually slightly different from the LPA one. Could you please explain the differences? Quote
zwieR.Z. Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Could you please explain the differences? I know that Xefuzion's Mark The Graves has changed and the mixing on my remix of All For Nothing is different. Not sure if that's all. Quote
